I personaly, dont like Ferelden, as its based on england and im irish so you can see the reason for the dislike
I don't like orlais either, french accents are annoying no offence.
I like the Tevinter Imperium, they are cool and dark i also like the idea of the Free Marche's reminds me of the independant Greek cities thousands of years ago,i like the Anderfells as i love german accent's.

You probably take that 'based on england' a bit too serious. It doesn't mean you have to hate it because you are irish.

I think the countries that DA's countries are based off of are not intended as exact replicas or anything close. Ferelden seems similar to England in accents and perhaps climate only.

There's a lot of celtic (well native british to be factual) influence in ferelden, equal to the anglo saxon background if you ask me especially in the names and the mythology.

Anyway any land where dogs are treated better than horses is the kind of land I like so viva las ferelden.

I also like Fereldan's "strong and dirty" kind of stance.

That's got nothing to do with Ferelden though. Anyway to answer to OP. I wouldn't say Ferelden is a country I would like to make a vacation to. I prefer warmer regions. If anything's like italy/spain/greece I am game.

Sorry I should have put native british and irish but when I was growing up we just included eire in britain, probably a hold over from the old days.

As an englishman I can understand what you're saying even though we're officially at peace there's always going to be a bit of a strain and wariness there but I say let's all get drunk together and beat up the french like in the old days.

The Tevinter Imperium. They made everything that was cool in DAO and it'll probably be the same in DA2.

I was disappointed that DA2 wasn't going to be based there.

I'm English and I love Ireland and Irish people.

Some of my favourite instruments are the ullieann pipes and the irish harp. My favourite flag in the world is the flag of Leinster. My cousin married a man from Cork.

It's a pity that there's still such a dislike of this country among some of the Irish, as I've never been privy to anything like that on this end.

I'm sorry that english people have been rude to you, but we're not all like that. And it's quite rude to lump us all into the select bigotted few, like you have. I still don't hate all irish because of it. Anyway, Ferelden people haven't been rude to you, have they?

I don't really know enough about the other countries really. But based on my limited knowledge, I'd like to see Antiva. I think it'd be a fun place to visit.

And yet the names are mostly Scottish with a few Irish, so I'd say it'a an amalgamation.

Ferelden is my favorite, partly because I came to feel Fereldan in my many playthroughs of DA:O (and like it's king very much ;) ), but also because I like it's attitudes and it's dogs.

Nevarra, based on Codex.

None of the nations particularly appeal to me. Nevarra intrigues me based on descriptions of its architecture. Orlais has an interestingly chaotic and tyrannical version of government with lots of juicy intrigue. The Tevinter Imperium has the whole mage history going. I could go on. Bottom line: every country has a bright spot while also possessing some fatal flaw that makes me uncomfortable labeling it a favorite.

Im going to reserve judgement until we auctually see more human countrys. By default it would have to be ferelden as it's the only Human county we have seen.

The Imperium sounds totally awesome ... but I'm going to go with Orlais. The descriptions of Val Royeaux are just AMAZING, and I like all the Orlesian characters (yes, I like Isolde. Quite a bit, in fact.) And I love their accents. And I'm fond of the French, being from a very bilingual part of Canada ...

Orlais just strikes me as very classy and rich and courtly and petty politics-y and that's exactly what I like :D

I really hope DA III takes us to Orlais. Sounds like a really exciting and vibrant city.
