Antiva, assassin rules the country, so over powerful.
Which country do you like best in Thedas?

To be fair to the English, we're rude about everyone, including the English. I'm sorry if you have been the subject of some nastiness because you're Irish, but most of us don't mean it to be mean, just light hearted. For example, my relationship with my best friend is mainly just us insulting each other. You should learn to live with social stereotypes. They're all completely inaccurate. I know tons of Scots, none are frugal, when I went to France, they were all really nice and helpful and not at all ignorant. Worst of all though, I get picked on for the way I talk. They all think I'm some middle class you know what. I'm not though, my family and I are all super working class, my step-dad was even a miner and still threatens "Margaret bloody Thatcher" in his sleep, and the only reason I talk ever so poshly is because of my lack of social contact as a child. But I'm rambling, don't hate the English, hate the meanies.
To answer the question, Fereldan. It's England and I'm fairly patriotic. I would like the Tevinter Imperium, if it didn't still enslave Elves. Elves are amazing. The fact they're still going is just a testament to the awesomeness.
I quite like the idea that the Free Marches is Ancient Greece, I never thought about that. I just thought it was Scotland since Kirkwall is an actaul Scottish city.

I apologize for how generalizing my language was regarding Europe.
I must say, when I learned that the first subway stop for France getting into England was Waterloo Station.... my first reaction was "that is rather hilarious".

Orlais sounds awesome, though that's more my imagination rather than the actual thing. I'd say Tevinter, something about the whole "We're responsible for lots of bad **** according to the Chantry" is cool.

I used to think Tevinter because of the magic, but its been portrayed so negatively with the cruel slavers and the power-hungry mage-tyrants. Its hard to still want to see the city of Tevinter and meet its residents. I want to learn more about Rivain and the Anderfels.

Nevarra is full of dragon hunters and who doesn't love to kill mighty beasts

I'd love to visit Nevarra. It's the uprising power in the world, strong enough to fight with Orlais, and of course they have dragon hunters. I'd love to be a dragon hunter in a DA game or to have a dragon hunter companionB)

I think Ferelden is loosely based on dark age & medieval Britain, hence the people of Ferelden resmbling the English to some, and Scots or Welshmen to others. I think they come across as sort of an amalgamation of all three.

Well considering the free marches has been the ending point for 2 blights and the first one ended very close by, Darkspawn activity there seems to be a bit much. I'd hate to be there when a blight begins. The Anderfels is said to be a country suffering from bad poverty. The Tevinter Imperium Supports Slavery and not keeping a close eye on mages so demons have a high chance of emerging there. Rivain has already been conquered by the Qunari once and most likely will be again considering how close it is to Par Vollen. I Would not Submit to the Qun so I would have to work the mines which is not desirable.
Antiva has the crows, and I like living so dont want to be assassinated. Seheron and Par Vollen have the Qunari.. So it comes down to Ferelden the muddy rundown Backwater, or Orlais... With their French Accents... But then Theres Nevarra, Which seems to be like Prussia but like I said before, is the ending point for a blight and another close by so yeah.. Darkspawn activity during blights would be bad..
After its been confirmed all the old gods are dead, Probably Nevarra. But until then since I couldn't handle Orlais's accents or their political system. Considering Im Scottish and Highever seems pretty close to Ireland / Scotland I'd Say i would live in Highever.
I Mean I'd love to live amongst the Dalish...but im human so can't see that happening.

The most interesting place for me is probably where ancient Arlathan was supposed to be. I think there must be a big black hole in the ground, and down there alot of answers to alot of questions

Fereldan... I haven't seen any of the others yet so I can't say. Ask again when DA2 comes out
Also, I'm sorry you feel that way about the English, but Fereldan doesn't have anything against the Irish I'd imagine.. Now if you were an elf or from Orlais then maybe

I don't hate it im just not fond of english people their very rude,to irish people.
That's kind of generalistic. Besides, aside from the accents of the human characters, I thought Ferelden seemed American more than anything.
Anyway, to answer the question, I like the sound of all the little countries you don't hear much about - like Rivain and Nevarra. I want to know more about them. I also think Tevinter sounds interesting because of how different it sounds from the rest of Thedas. Same for Seheron/Par Vollen. I would love DA to take us to Tevinter at some point, even though there will be blood mages, slaves etc.

Cant really name a favorite country within Thedas having only seen one of them, but if I had to say which one Id like to see the most in the future it would probably be Tevinter, especially curious about Minrathos, the city thats fought off four(or three?) exalted marches aswell as the qunari would be worth seeing in my books .

Orlais, somehow perfectly refined in practically every way but incredibly condescending people living in pseudo-France as pictured by the mind of Anthony Bourdain just sounds right to me.
