I wasn't able to download my free content within the first few months of the game being released -- I kept getting timeouts on trying to talk to any ea server.  I also get timeouts when trying to contact ea.support.com.

Now I finally was able to register my game but now I get a message in game that the "ea servers are no longer available".

So now they are taken off line and the DLC is no longer available?

Servers are definetly availible.  Ive been logging into them all week just fine.
Try These Links and search around for some solutions.
help.dragonage.com/
Search around there and submit a ticket. Theres also a way through that site to live chat with a EA support representivtive. I spoke to one last night myself and it only took about 10 minutes of waiting in que.

social.bioware.com/forum/1/category/58/index
The Bioware support forums, lots of fan contributions to solutions to common problems.

Scroll down and read how to manualy install content. Then only install the items your account is credited for. Then in game log in and it should authroise it. If it dosnt theres a solution in the biowae help forums as this usualy means you need to give administrator access to dragonage and/or kick start/give access privilages to the dragon age content updater service.

Also to your previous post, DLC helps but is in no way required to play or beat the game. I am under the impression that you may have traveled to Orzamaar too early in game and dont have proper gear/levels for that area.

Is a good guide to the ideal order to the game in reguards to difficulty of areas.

For the specific fight you mentioned I suggest this video. Thanks to Soteria.

Hope this helps your situation.

Hey guys. I know this thread has been up a while but it seems like nobody really answered the question of why they couldn't connect to the EA servers. My wife and I have been racking our brains for a while and decided to check all our firewall and modem settings and we found that if your date and time setting on your modem doesn't match up with that of the EA servers then you wont be able to connect. Hope this helps. It worked for us.

It's potentially a firewall issue. I registered my copy of DA:O without issue and played for ages then suddenly started getting the same error. Disabling Kaspersky solved the problem so I need to trawl through the firewall settings and make sure that the various Dragon Age components were allowed through.

If you have firewalls running in might be worth disabling them and seeing if that helps, if it does you'll need to check the configuration/rules. Hope you get it sorted.
