Damn. The only other thing i can think of at the moment is a possible bunch of bad sectors on the hard drive where those files for Purgatory are installed onto. Checking for and fixing them will take some time, which I recommend be done as an overnight process, or while out at school or work.

Right click on your C drive, select properties. Select the Tools tab, then the error checking button. One of the check boxes will be "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors", and the other will be "automatically fix errors". Check them both, and reboot.

As i said, it will take a fair amount of time, and the larger the hard drive, the longer it will take. Not giving up on it yet, just run out of ideas for now.

If you have a friend who is fairly cluey when it comes to computers, it may be worthwhile to bribe them with a case of beer/dew/sherbet or whatever to come over and have a poke around on your system.

You know, now that I think about it, it actually kinda seems like Steam isn't fully downloading every piece of the game. I mean first the problem in the Normandy, AND I forgot to mention, on that Normandy problem, I also had a momentary problem with the Weapon icons having a missing texture problem; and now this problem with Purgatory.

Could this be the problem, and Steam's not even detecting the game integrity correctly?

And, I'll try this new suggestion if we can't find any other way.

And you know, now that I think about it, it's basically doing the same exact same thing it did with the Normandy problem. I mean, what the hell? Does Steam have a problem with downloading this game?

Seeing as you have already purchased it, and have a registration code, give it a try downloading via EA's digital distribution channel. Should be more reliable than Steam. Try that before the HDD option i mentioned.

Alright, sounds good. I'll try that, and hopefully it will work.

Never mind, I got it. I'll report back once it's downloaded. Now, I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I'm confident this will work.

Yay! That calls for a well deserved beer or 3 i think. If you're not old enough to drink, then I'll have them :)
Glad to have been able to help. That said, I absolutely forbid you from having any other problems for a week. B)

Just do me one favour, when you get around to playing Overlord, play it late at night, with the lights out, and the volume up very, very LOUD.

LOL, indeed it does. I think 5 will suffice... maybe more.

Haha, don't worry, I don't think there will be any other problems, at least for the week. Hopefully. :c

About the favour: done. xD
