I mean it was so much better. Instead of having damage resistance moderifiers that modified numbers I couldn't see, I had actually numerical numbers that I could compare. I would like to see this back expecially with squadmates because spandex is not know for its bullet-stopping properties, and because I enjoyed the vast diversity of armor (states wise and the aesthetics of all of the armors) since the guns where all more or less the same looking. Don't get me wrong, I loved customizing my armor, but I would like more variety of the few full sets that we got. Anyone feel me on this?

I don't know why this part is in bold <_<

Yes please. I'm not much for stats but I much prefer the look of the amour in ME1.

Too bad most of the armor in ME 1 looked the same they just had different colors swapped in. Besides you know what Shepard's armor does in ME 2. It does in fact give you stat descriptions. I'm kind of unbiased. I don't mine much either way as stuff looks different. Also if I see another iteration of this armor I-X I might have to facepalm. Now I agree that when squaddies are in harsh environments they should have sealed armor so they don't hurt themselves. However we are only in a true Vacuum once in ME 2. That's in the beginning when Shepard is about to die. Notice how he walks slower. So breathers work there.

I don't know I'm conflicted. I guess I'll just say again I don't care as long as the armors look different.

No thank you. I do want each squad mate to have a "real" armor suit of his or her own, but I do *not* want to have tons of crap armor that I have to spend time to get rid of.

Well I'd be down to keep the system for Shepard, but the old system was much better for squad mates. And actually, a lot of the armor looked different than just the textures (which was the problem with the guns in ME1). And they could get rid of all of the levels of armor, so you have less sets to keep picking up, but still a lot of variety.

At this point I'll settle just for the appearance of armor. Anything else would be icing on the cake.

I like ME1 system for the simple fact that it dropped as loot and bought from vendors, and thus tingles the RPG fanatic in me. I disliked the armor types though as they don't make sense in this setting.

ME2 has better looking armor for sure. Unfortunatly you can't have the quantity of Me1 with the quality of Me2.

Nah, the inventory system in ME1 was ridiculous. I love what they did in ME2 with the armour - I'd just like them to expand on that, maybe add a few more styles or something.

I'm good with that.

Stats do not need to be connected to the worn armor like Shep in ME2.

IMHO, stats are fine connected to other aspects of the characters like class Passives (if ME3 will keep that setup of course).

Not completely, but all Squad Members should at least go into battle fully armored.

no!

The detail in the suits in ME2 are far better than ME1.

I liked the numbers and the highlights for what was better and what was worse when in compare mode. I also like being able to try it on before you actually equipped it to that character. But I don't want the swimsuit type armor back I like ones like Mercenary that looked great on M and Fshep I hope that one comes back and we can change its colors and add patterns like we did in 2.

I think what the OP is sugggesting is armor that has some sort of actual damage reduction capability, the ability to modify that armor in certain limited ways, and visible numbers to demonstrate the degree of protection and modification.  I don't see anyhting in there about going back to the original invetory system.  Just armor types like what was in ME 1.

That said, I do kinda like the ME 2 modular armor style too.  I would not mind seeing it applied to squadmates in ME 3.  It just needs more variety

I could honestly go with either.  Like I said as long as there is armor, and not just more spandex

Well I liked getting the otughest armor as an old min- maxer in the first game. However, i found I enjoyed not having to waste time just to upgrade the armor/ weapons in ME2. Maybe one significant upgrade in the game like doing the loyalty mission would be acceptable.

In getting the toughest armors in ME1 it made battles less strategic. Everyone could tank to some degree.

One thing did bother me though. Why wasn't Garrus' armor ever repaired? Posted Image

No thanks. The armours were fugly, many were very similar and I'd hate to go thru I-X just to have either the Predator or Colossus and the Geth set for Wrex.

The modular concept from ME2 is far better. Just bring back helmet toggle.

I want it.

A little bit of fashion coordination among squadmates never hurt anything. ;)

I actually do miss the different looks for armors, as well as different capabilities. Yes, inventory could get crowded and cumbersome, but having options did add to the game for me, and I'm not even really much of an RPGer.

Too ****ing cumbersome. I shouldn't have to waste four hours doing save/reload just to match certain brands of armor I wanted.

If it's not as cumbersome (inventory-wise, that is) as in ME (1) or as limiting or non-existent as in ME2, sure I'm game.

You're absolutely right. You shouldn't have to. And, in my experience, you don't have to. Why would you? I just picked armor up as I went along. The most time I may have "wasted" in getting it was stopping by the various shops whenever I was on the Citadel or popping down to the reqs. officer on Normandy and seeing if they had anything new.

Not a single save/reload for me while doing that. It was just part of the game play, and I picked up armor as it came along, gel'ed or sold whatever I didn't want, and played the game.

I like the current armor system, but I'd prefer it if teammates did have actual armory looking armor. It wouldn't need to be as customizable as ours - maybe just as upgrades via the tech lab to give them optional suits of armor that lean towards one stat-based role or the other? And you can re-equip the suits like you can weapons.

I really liked the merc armor in the 1st game, I liked having my squishy biotics in light armor and my soldiers in noticeably heavier looking armor.
I'll also throw in a "Hell Yeah" for our squad having armor in combat. High heels, bare skin or skin tight... spandex? Latex? (whatever Miranda and Jacob are sporting) is fine and dandy for on the ship but I want my crew kitted up and ready for action when we're on the job
