Where is the need for save/reloading? Are you deleting armor as soon as you equip a new set? Or am I not understanding what you mean by save/reloading? To me it sounds like this means saving your game and then reloading when you don't get the armor you want?

When a player has Bringing Down the Sky,a set of colossus armor is guaranteed at the end of the mission. And its a good Dlc anyway.

It's not lazy at all, the armor design was a decision to further differentiate squadmates. Individual complaints about Miranda or Jack are art complaints. I hope they give actual stats to squadmate armor, and give us more options, but a return to ME1 would be a mistake.

I'd prefer that squadmates got "hazard" suits, as well.

As for Shep's armor, I liked it, but it was mostly cosmetic. More options with greater impact would be preferable. I'd also like the return of equipable omnitools and amps. Basically, move away from the static upgrades. Also, a helmet toggle for full suits ought to be implemented.

I'd like more a modular customization like Shep's armor in ME2, maybe with less color schemes for squaddies to maintain them a bit recognizable. And, at least... some kind of full envirosuit for Jack, Miranda and Jacob in chase of mission in the space, or on Flottilla...

Keep the Me2 armor and upgrade system.

it ad´s a littel realety in the game, at least for shepard.Just give the same options to the companions. in me3 for me2 its to late.

I didnt like it in me1 with the full inventory, where the hell i had all that stuff my shep has no pokets.

Great i am in space on some super toxic acid planet and i find some super armor :"hej lets take all my cloth´s of and dress new." -.- "mhhhh wich one i take from the 60 armors 10 rifels and 4 omni tool´s."

I loved how you have go back to your ship to make Hardware changes upgrades, but they shoude maybe ad some software loot that you can aplie throu your inventory lite or somthing

I want ME1's old armor as well. I hated that the mercenaries got their cool armor while I had to wear ME2's armor. Sure ME2's armor isn't so bad but the mecenaries armor models (colors excluded) looked way better than my own. Plus they're wearing less advanced gear and so it should be easier to get your hands on it that it would on Shepard's armor. I hate when the enemies get things like this. These are things that the player should be able to use, aside from this it's also removing things that weren't wrong and by this I mean ME1's armor not the ME1 armor system. Hopefully in the next DLC they'll put it in. I also have the 360 version so unfortunately I can't mod to get the armors.

I love how your argument is reality and half of our squad show more flesh in space than Shep does while wearing casual outfits. Miranda, Jack, Samara, Thane to name a few.

I'd like to see the armor customization stay, but I also want the ability to equip my shepard with lighter armor. I liked ME1 armor because it looked flexible, light and protective. Shepards new armour is notably bulkier and apears to be made out of rather stiff material.

Well it wouldn't really be armor if it wasn't made out of stiff material now would it? :P ;) but nah, it's really made from 21st Century Foam so it isn't that stiff really :D

I agree with the others that say keep squadmates as they are but with 'hazard' suits for areas where they and Shep shouldn't be having any flesh open to the elements. More customisation options for the modular armor with maybe some more specific to the various classes both in bonuses and in style thus kind of bringing back the old light/medium/heavy aspect to some extent. Also allow for collaspible helmets but make it be a 'player' choice. So if people want to look cool with their helmets still on they can. Also give us the ability in 'social' areas of HUB planets to be able to wear our civvy gear if we want.

No thanks; I didn't really care for having twelve billion armor types for everyone.  I liked how everyone had one suit of armor and that was it.  Made it a lot easier on me.  I WOULD like to see a customization feature for everyone's armor like Shepard has.

But ME 1 armor system being better than ME 2?

I see. I did not know this. I've only played through a few times, since I only bought the game a couple of weeks ago when the Steam Christmas sale started (I was going to buy it anyway, so jumped on it when it hit $14.99, though I could have waited and got it for $9.99). Right now, I'm basically on my 3rd play through (completed one maleShep, one femShep, and this is PT2 of the same femShep), so I haven't figured out all of the details of the game. Good to know, though. That will save me some trips. ;)

Problem I had with most of the armor is all of them were A. Outright useless or B. They looked ridiculous. I ended up save/reloading for Collosus/Armax Predator/Character's Default armor every single time. Things get three times as cumbersome when you have to deal with the "Light/Medium/Heavy" classification as well.

But, I don't get why you would save/reload...

The way I played was basically, you start with your default armor. Fine. Take whatever you can get that's better until you can find or afford something you like. If you feel like it, keep some extra sets around to try out different balances of hardening, shields, and biotic resistance. Hang on to any alien armor for when you get your squad. Sell or gel anything you don't want. Play the game as you like.

I did that and came out of my first play through with femShep with both her and Tali in Colossus armor (shown in the second pic), Garrus and Liara in Mercenary armor, and Wrex and Ash in Predator armor, all very useful for them. PT2 started with me in my Colossus and all of the other armors in inventory, so I could just equip them to the characters as soon as I met them.  I then soon came across a set of lightweight human Colossus which went to Liara. Kaiden's a dead man, so he'll be fine in Scorpion armor. I rarely use him anyway.

Where is the need for save/reloading? Are you deleting armor as soon as you equip a new set? Or am I not understanding what you mean by save/reloading? To me it sounds like this means saving your game and then reloading when you don't get the armor you want?

Okay, let me explain this more clearly. Loot is always randomized no matter what, and coming from someone who extensively played Mass Effect 1, a lot of the armors are either ****g ugly, their stats were outright useless (i.e. Weak shields/weak damage protection/no resistance against tech or biotic attacks.) , or most of all, it's both on some sets (i.e. Who in their right mind would want to buy Assassin/Guardian/Mantis/etc. armor?). As it was for Mass Effect 1, Collosus and Armax Predator are the best armors in the game (i.e. Collosus with better Damage protection, Armax Predator with shields), problem is getting those are almost as common as a needle in a haystack regardless of you looting from a crate or buying from every single shop. Getting the armor for most of the aliens, no problem (i.e. Wrex, Garrus, and Tali are fine shop inventory-wise) since I know which vendor sells armor for aliens. However, problem is "Oh, this shop only has one armor for Garrus" "This shop only has one armor for Tali." "This shop only has one armor for Wrex." Before I hit the vendor, I save the game, check if the vendor has the armor I want. If that vendor doesn't have it, I constantly reload the data to get a different batch of armor and only make my purchase if they have two sets of armor I want (i.e. Buying from Morlan, the Hanar from the Presidium, and the Hanar from Noveria specializes in selling alien armor). This is how I handle my armor shopping for EVERY Shepard I make..

However, problem stems a lot with Kaidan, Ashley, and Liara, since they all use human armor, and two of them exclusively only have access to light armor. I always have a tendency to outfit either Ashley or Kaidan (depending on which Shepard I use) with Onyx armor. Thing is, light armor looks nothing more than an overglorified scuba-diving suit, while Heavy Armor has hideous cosmetic issues, makes you slower, and gives you crappier protection against tech and biotics. I always have a bias towards Medium Armor just because it looks normal and has the best balance of protection and mobility. On top of this, getting three sets of armor for two of the characters is a pain in the rear, since I can only buy Onyx and the Collosus at the Normandy and C-Sec vendor, while I can get the Armax at Expat, C-Sec Vendor, and Normandy.  My style as a gamer: I always settle for nothing less than the best armor in the game, and am a notorious power gamer. However, if I like the characters' default armors aestheically, I also buy it (though I permanently keep Tali in Collosus exclusively)

Two words: Kinetic Barriers, armour is a pretty moot point tbh. ME2's system was far better, giving the player more control over the colour scheme and general appearance of the armour. Much better than having to sift through a ton of crap to find the genuinely decent armour in ME1, in the end the armour mostly looked the same too!

Except kinetic barriers don't protect you from fire, energy based attacks, toxins, suffocation, freezing temperatures, slow moving attacks (such as meleeing krogan or varrren), radiation, and so on. For that, you need a good solid suit of armor with enviromental controls.

Also, why does having ME 1 style armor automatically mean a return to ME 1 style loot?  It is possible to have one without the other.

Mainly because buying the armor you want was already hard enough as it is due to the random nature they drop in, not to mention armor restrictions made buying them a bigger pain in the ass than they already are (i.e. "Oh, this shop only has medium and heavy armor, gotta reload." "Oh, this shop only has light armor. Gotta reload." "Oh, this shop only has heavy armor, gotta reload." "Oh, this shop only has useless armor, gotta reload.")

I dont get the complaints about Miranda's or Samara's suits, their armor is only slightly less bulky than the light armor from the first game. I would rather have the ME2 Shepards armor system for all squadmates or the current set looks then go back to the original games armor system.

But what if the armor was purchased-only?  We could probably forget about light, medium, and heavy  armor types, since that would work against every character having a unique body appearance, but maybe have 5-6 "brands" of armor with varying (visible) statistics.  And rather than have them appear randomly, different stores could carry differnt brands.  If you like Onyx armor, you buy that at the Citadel.  Predator armor at Illium, and so on.  AS you go up in level, better armors become available for purchase.

After that, you just have to worry about what mods to put in.  Better armors have more "sockets" for mods.  As to getting those, we already have a system in place:  purchase, find, or mission rewards.  Then you just equip the squadmates with the mods you want, just like a weapon loadout screen, and you're good to go.

There, no looting dead mercs, no tons of inventory.  No millions of Medical Exoskeleton Vs.  Just Just like in ME 2, pick up or buy what you want.

First, their suits are spraypainted on.  Same as Jacob.  I've traveled quite a bit with Kaiden and Liara in ME 1.  The outfits don't even compare.  Second, even if it is in fact armor, it leaves several areas quite vulnerable to gunfire.  They are also not in any way sealable against hostile enviroments.

Shepard's armor system would be all right by me for squaddies in ME 3.  But the armor should at least look like armor as well.

^ definitively want the second. the first one looks so stupid and out of place.

Like, its not even a contest. Even the light armors are covered in armor plating and had sealed enviroments. Super hero costumes that show way to much boob do not belong inside a military shooter.

Perfectly fine with this, as long as there's no class restrictions. Two questions regarding your solution:

1. Is the armor system like the armory (i.e. Anyone can access to it), or do I have to buy individual suits? I really hope it's the former.

2. What type of mods are going to be remotely useful? As far as I knew, I only saw four useful mods out of 15.

I guess I just don't understand that style of playing, but to each his own. If that's the way you play the game, then so be it. My usual reaction is, "Oh this shop doesn't have what I want. Well, guess I'll move on then." But, then I've never been a fan of loot farming. I'll take or reject what the game throws at me, rather than meta-game (if that's the right word) by breaking out of the world and reloading it.

Modular armor for Shepard with upgrade slots instead of built-in bonuses and ME1-style armor for squaddies.

I'd be happy with that.
