My game is crashing immediately after startup, a problem that appears like a rash across the internet.

I have the PC version of the game, downloaded from the Steam Store.

Taking advice from various forums, I have concurrently 1) Downloaded the Bring Down the Sky expansion. 2) Disabled User Account Control. 3) Changed the settings to run as an administrator. 4) Updated my computer via the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. 5) Run the program using the .exe instead of the Steam launcher.  I’ve also fiddled with the binary file names and extensions, only to (accurately) reset them when it had no effect.

Edit: I've also tried reinstalling the program and restarting my computer numerous times, in case that doesn't go without saying.

I’m not a computer guy, so a lot of the information I’m about to post will be irrelevant.  Please let me know if you need any more information, and I’ll do my best to track it down.  Thank you in advance for your time and efforts.

You do not have supported hardware there. There is no AMD or nVIDIA graphics card in it, and one of those is required, period. Sorry. Your CPU is also about half-power compared to a gaming Central Processor Unit.

Even the more expensive models of Satellite L505, such as Satellite L505-ES5015 (which's specs look like yours) come with Intel GMAs (basically all L5xx come with Intel's graphic accelerators). Plus, the driver name clearly shows it's an Intel's graphics card.

Neither ME1 nor ME2 support Intel video cards. The crash on startup is expected.

It's supposedly a class 4 video card. The only thing you can try (no guarantees) is to visit http://downloadcenter.intel.com/ and update both chipset and graphic card drivers.

At the moment of speaking, the current GMA driver version is 8.15.10.2226, newer than yours.

Grim news. Thank you for looking into it for me.
