I recently started up NWN again after a few months of not playing, only to find that after a few minutes of gameplay, my screen goes black and my system becomes unresponsive, requiring a restart. I have updated my drivers, reinstalled the game, set all graphics to minimum, run the game in compatibility mode and as administrator, but to no avail. My computer runs much newer games on maximum settings without issue, so I don't think it's overheating either.

System information:

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 @2.26GHz
4GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GTS 1GB VRAM


I have no idea what could have changed to cause this problem. It's the same system, and nothing catastrophic has happened to it in the past few months that I know of. Any ideas?

Sounds like it's time to rollback to the driver version that was installed when it operated properly. In many of the driver updates, OpenGL support has dissipated. You may need to decide if the rollback compromises the performance of the newer games you have installed.
