He is party member. Or leader of Mage Guild in Kirkwall. But as PM more beleviable because there is One thing about him- he is mage. And we need second mage.

We already have a potential second mage.. Her name is Merril.
Also why would our companion be having a face off with someone who is clearly an important npc who also happens to be a templar.. Remember the whole Mage vs Templar thing? Who do you think will be leading those factions?

Who's the first mage? Bethany? because mage hawke currently has no mage companion:whistle:
Seriously, we will have att least 2 companion per class. At this point we don't know if Bethany and Carver are full companions, and even if they are a mage hawke have to get another mage after merril (IF she is a companion), so for what we know Orsino could be a companion.....howewer if he's the elf mage in this screen I believe that he woul be a leader of some mages faction rather than a companion..... I suppose we have to wait and see...

Your technically right here.. As I read we get atleast 2 potential companions per class. Bethany is obviously one of those potential mages. Besides like I said why would our companion be having a face off with a obviously important Templar leader. Also considering before Orsino was shown we never even saw or heard of the Mage leader..

One of mages - Merril yes, another- Betany. But Beth don't have her page on site= she can't  be for all game and she can be dead if  Hawke is mage.
So we need 2 mage. And Orsino is good candidate.

I really hope we get 2 companion per class, without considering Bethany and Carver, you're right, they said we have at least 2 potential companion per class, but so far they announced two rogues and 2 warriors, plus Carver and Bethany, so I hope they put another 2 mage..... about Orsino I feel the same as you, when I post my opinion obut Mr.Gaider's words I didn't see the image about  "him" confronting a Templar leader..... howewer we don't have any confirmation that he's  the elf mage in this screen (though I believe he is, the two staffs look too similar), so I'm gonna wait when the dev will give us more information.

DLC perhaps. I would totally support fourth wall breaking DLC that is designed with the jaded repeat player in mind.

'Wine taster' - Have your romantic advances spurned by 25 women
'Repeat offender' - Get arrested 5 times by the police for being a public nuisance

and so on.

Don't forget Anders,  Anders will definitely be in this game.  I heard it on the forums, so it must be true.

Whoever/whatever it is, it's definitely male since the outfit isn't available for female avatars.
Slightly annoying but mitigated by the fact that my avatar looks awesome rocking out wearing Hawke's Mage gear in Guitar Hero:Warriors of Rock hehe

Not so. It's available for both genders.

For whatever reason, I expect Orsino to be a villainous or at least aggressive character who commits disagreeable acts or even crimes.

A lot of the love interest references make more sense if you have a passing knowledge of shakespeare.

I've read Twelfth Night, though this doesn't stop me from sighing.

Actually, given his name, asking if he's a love interest or not seems oddly relevant.

Only if he falls in love with a female Hawke after she's crossdressed for several months.

The connections between The Morrígan and Morrigan are incredible.

They mean nothing. Just keep that in mind.

A quick wikipedia search of The Morrígan, makes me think they are similar in some ways (and before I always had though that Morrigan's name derived from Morgan...who might have dervied from The Morrígan). Both The Morrígan and Morgan have some association with powerful magic and shapechanging.

Alistair's name has to do with "Defending" something.

That being said, I think it's silly to guess that because the First Enchanter is named after a romantic Shakespearian Duke that he must have some romantic role to play.

So, it's the caution we have to take in our silly little "Let's guess things we have no way of knowing" game, sometimes names do actually mean something...mostly they don't.

I am now assuming that with in the tower there will be a really hilarious beef-eating idiot named Andrew.

It's uncanny how well some of the names fit. But the writers have said, time and again, they just pick names they like. Morrigan, I believe, comes from the name of Darth Gaider's friend. Fenris is the only one I remember that has a specific meaning to his name.

I suspect Shale might have been a pun too.

What makes you think that?

I don't know if someone already mentioned this, but could Orsino be Fenris' former master?
