BTW if Hawke is a descendant from Parthalan, the mage who helped long ago to unite Ferelden under the rule of King Calenhad than there is some connection to Flemeth as well. With could be a hint why Flemeth picked Hawke.
If anyone was to help mages, or whatever the confllict is about, then it is logical that she picked someone from a long line of mages. And being a mage him/herself, or has a mage as a sister.

BTW: The former ruler of Kirkwall tries to get rid from the Templars with the result that he was killed by the Templars “for the good of all.”
After Dumar gets killed, he will be replaced by Hawke. This will be the point when things get ugly …and the seething conflict between templars and mages escalates.

I don't think Hawke can become Viscount, he might have a hand in picking a new Viscount though.Great_Horn wrote...
Well we know from the actual timeline that the current ruler of Kirkwall is Lord Viscount Marlowe Dumar. IMO a puppet and the Templars the real puppet player.

Infact he becomes the Champion, not the Viscount:P seriously, I believe that is impossible right now to know what we can became in DA2, except being named Champion. From what we know "Champion" could be a qunari title, given by them because we became the Champion of the Qun, and helped them to conquer Kirkwall.

I missed that
I find it hard to believe that Hawke could support the qunaris, but still this possibility exists, hence I´m not sure if he would believe the qunaris, according to risk the safety of this family therefor.

I missed that. He is truly “only” the Champion of Kirkwall
. We don’t know if there is a position at court related.

I don't believe it too, I was just saying that from what we know that's a possibility, qunari are surely a faction in the game, although we don't know how relevant.
The only thing I want is the possibity to side with different factions, whoever they are qunari, Tevinter or some kind of rebels, as well as the Chantry and the Templars. I believe that this could add a lot replayability at the game.

Hence an intervention from the Tevinter Imperium would be a big surprise, but a real twist. If I had to bet on a thir party, I will go with Orlais cause they got the manpower to do so.

Yes, Orlais is a more logical than Tevinter, or maybe Nevarra. If Hawke's makes Kirkwall more powerful (or unyfying the Free Marches) Nevarra will surely not hold back, it could be seen as a threat to its power. Maybe this is the reason becuase Cassandra is interrogating Varric, she's a Chantry Seeker but also a member of the Pentaghast family, the ruler (or royal) family of Nevarra

you have a bigger chance of being evil in DA 2, I wonder if this does indeed give you the chance of ruling Kirkwall.

I wanted my first playthrough to be a Good leaning to Evil Rogue.Eclipse_9990 wrote...
I demand no less than Supreme Archmagus of Thedas. The Templars will be used for fertilizer, and the Grand Cleric will be required polish my staff at least twice a day. While I sit in my throne room with my pet High Dragon, and drink wine out of a hollowed out Qunari horn.
But with the default Hawke being a (Blood) Mage, I want to play an Evil Blood Mage more and more.

For example, if you pick to play as a mage. But side with the Chantry, then do you think that the Templars in Kirkwall will go easier on the Mage's?

What I really liked in Awakening was that you could judge people in Vigils Keep, and later figured out that the person you judged started an order of knights. So I hope we get something simmilair in Dragon Age 2.

I plan on makeing a Evil blood mage who will destroy the chantry at all costs and is rise to power will be that of destroying the chantry. However since there are no real details who knows, maybe we will be forced to help them thats why I dont get on the fourms alot its too early.
Like with my Human Noble Rogue. I helped Zathrian to kill Witherfang, but seeing how much his hatred corrupted him I killed him since his first knew what to do with Witherfang.
That is another thing I wonder about.
I mean Hawke is Champion, can he help out the Antivan Crows for example? Or steal from the Nobles?
The Warden could do those things, but he was in the middle of a Blight and the country at war. So people had some bigger things to worry about. But will side-quests like that affect Hawke's reputation?

Who said Hawke's father came from Kirkwall? I remember that Hawke's father is from Ferelden. Hawke's mother is from Kirkwall (or at least some relatives) but the Hawke are Fereldan.
