If money were no object, I'd take up rotation between New Orleans (spring), Hong Kong (summer - yes, I know what it's like there in the summer, and I love it), France (fall), and New York (winter).
Lol, I would like to do something similar but shift that by half a year so that I'm in the sun all year round.

For girls you should go to the Czech Republic, I've never seen a ugly girl there ; )

Something more realistic would be like Virginia though.

This is an interesting question and maybe given actual research I'd choose somewhere different, but I have to say that Edmonton is the current top spot if I could really choose anywhere. Good school systems, it's a city, but has a ton of intensely large parks and plenty of available natural areas not far, etc. Already having friends there would also be a plus, as well.
We would welcome you with open arms Cat Lance. We wouldn't even send you to the parts of town where we send foreigners we don't like.

Iceland. Everybody leaves them be. Except when it comes to fishing territories. And vulcanoes.
I can imagine myself living like a hermit there.
Be warned: The winters are very cold and dark. Especially outside the settlements. But I see where you're coming from, the nature is fantastic and highly untouched by mankind, a great place to get peace.
Perhaps norway... I understand Norwegian and would probably adapt to it quite quickly. They are socialists, have stunning nature and the people are charming. If not Norway, then Israel, that would be a very, very interesting place to live.
