 First thing:I'm not trolling.Second:I always wondered why are people so obsessed with Tali?I mean,she doesn't even have a face!I know her mask lets your imagination run wild,but still she is a bland character similar to MaleShep.So please,folks,enlighten me.

Anyway, I believe Tali is popular because people like her. I personally did not find her all that interesting and certainly not as attractive as others seem to, but since that is my own personal opinion and it can't be verified as 'fact', I let it be and let the people who obviously like Tali, like Tali.
There's nothing more too it then that, they either like her or don't and shouldn't be judged either way.

Simple as.

Also as a side note, to all the members of the Tali fanbase who are no doubt sick of all the hate threads and improvement threads lately, well... speaking as a fan of Ashley Williams:

I find this even more ridiculous of the thread itself. What do you want? A pubblic apology because sometimes someone says something not gentle about Ash, while trolls open crappy topics like this agains the other characters almost every day? If you feel treated so bad you just have to close your browser and continue with your life. I won't star an argument with you, but cut it off, 'cause if everyone has to whine like you do this board will become a warzone.

EDIT: By the way, I apologize if I geniuenly came across as being rude or obnoxious or mean to the Tali fans about their predicament, because I certainly didn't mean to.
I know what it's like to have something you like become popular and then the hate train coming into station because hating the popular thing is 'cool'.... I'm a Halo fan, I perhaps know this feeling better than most.

But...but...when fans of INSERT CHARACTER spew hatred about Ashley/Kaidan/any other character, it is right and proper!  They deserve to be hated because they did something/did not do something/looked at my Shepard the wrong way/exist without my permission!!!

On the other hand, when people bash INSERT CHARACTER, they are obviously losers and nerds who are unfairly persecuting INSERT CHARACTER because they are too dumb to fully understand the greatness of INSERT CHARACTER.  Also, they are automatically trolling by having an opinion different than mine about INSERT CHARACTER, because INSERT CHARACTER is better and deeper and has better posture than any other character, and no one could possibly *really* hate them, unless they were jealous, lonely, bitter haters.

Did I cover everything?

links to dozen of threats like this, the banners pro-Tali
headshooten, and give you a list of trolls who always enjoy to come in
this kind of discussion trying to make us feeling like idiotic fanboys
just because whe like Tali. I don't see this kind of hate for Ash or her
fanbase, but maybe I'm wrong... let's see if you can change my mind.
Besides all, maybe I WAS too rude, but still I think that the "it could

Nope.

There can be dislike for other characters, but I don't see any fan of
Tali making threats where the topic is "Why romance Miranda/Ashley/Jack
when you have Tali?" for example. I dislike a bit Jack, but when
Epantirias published "The Door" I did my congratulations for the amazing
job. When I talk about Miranda I always say that I don't appreciate the
obsessive ass-shots during the conversation, but that I see the
potential of the character and I understand why she's so popular. And I
posted that South Park strip I've fond on DeviantArt with Ash played by
Cartman just because I like South Park, not because I thinked "Ohhh...
it's funny to get pissed Ash's fans!". I respect the opinion and the
tastes of everyone in this board, I've not got the obessisse necessity
of treating the other users out there like idiots.

What makes your opinion is better then those of everyone else? Everyone has the right to think about INSERT CHARACTER in the way they want, The Fact that you do not seem to allow other people to give their opinion on INSERT CHARACHTER makes you a very arrogant person.

V-rex, this might be due to your late sign-up date, but that image is skewed and completely wrong.
Tali has been a very actively hated character for a long time, partly due to her tremendous fanbase and support, I.E. "hating what's popular".
This has only recently decreased, after the last big Tali thread was locked due to trolls and spam, and the moderators' poor response to the aforementioned. The reason Clan Zorah requires permission to join is in order to keep the haters from the various groups dedicated to hating her and trolling her fanbase out, said groups even attempted to DDoS an independent Tali-support site. (Fortunately, this was thwarted due to these people being utter idiots, allowing their announcement to be viewed publically)

I understand that there is a lot of Tali hate out there, certainly, in fact given the circumstances I'd rather we not be enemies right now but believe me... there is a LOT of Ashley hate out there, like a million 'left her on Virmire' threads and one liners, hundreds of fan arts depicting Shepard slapping her in the fact and calling her rude names, she's been unfairly listed as 'annoying women in games', she gets so little fair fanart compared to the others, people write fan fiction to make her come across as worse then she is and we too, have suffered plenty of troll attacks in our time on the Ashley thread (the first ever version, swamped by hate messages for the first four pages).
It's gotten so bad that I have to memorize the prepared 'defend Ashley speech' every time I open a thread involving Ashley in the topic, or a youtube video in which Ashley is present. Hell, there are borderline insane death threats posted for her on a video which was just showing off a game glitch (her gun never stopped firing due to a graphical hiccup, lead to people demanding that 'YOU STUPID B!TCH DIE IN A FIRE!!!')

My point is, the hate of Ashley vastly outweighs the love and this has been going on for three years now.

As it stands, I absoluely understand and sympathize with the Tali fanbase for the hate train, largely because I think it's the same old 'popular so it's cool to hate' situation that I, as a Halo fan, am certainly familiar with. All I'm saying is that while Tali fans have the right to be upset about all the hate, I've been in the same boat and for longer.

Hence, 'Welcome to my world'.

I know there are people who dislike characters I like, and there's nothing wrong with that. I wonder why those people can't just accept that a character they dislike is liked by others, though. What's the point in questioning other people's tastes when you're likely never going to find a reason you will accept as valid?

Agreed. There are currently two active discussions on the first page of this forum concerning Tali. One for general discussion and another for general criticism. Please direct further general discussion about Tali to those threads.
