Hello, I recently completed ME1 to get a lvl 60 character to import into ME2.  When I imported the character, everything seemed fine on the summary screen, but after playing for a while, there are inconsistencies with my import and my game.

First off, when you got to the section to re-create your character, I was given the option to change the gender of my character, which I thought you couldn't do.

Next while I was on the Grunt mission the scientist who worked for Saren was at the facility even though I killed her in the import.

Now that I'm at Horizon, I was told Kaiden was there, just as he should be because I let Ash die in ME1, but when the cutscene started, there was Ash, trying to protect the colony .

So I'm wondering, is something wrong with my import, or did the game do something wrong when I imported a lvl 60 character.  Both of my saves have a green medallion next to them, and I started at lvl 5 because of the import.  Thanks for any help.

If these quirks really bother you, use Gibbed's SavegameEditor. It can edit both ME2 settings and carry-over things from ME1. To reliably change ME1 decisions, edit them in the ME2 savegame file and use that one for a NG+ in ME2.

Thanks, I gave that a look, and the weird thing is, the file is fine, all of my decisions are there just as I made them. The only thing I could find was that "Played Mass Effect 1" under the player flag wasn't checked, so maybe that was causing all of the problems. If I check that, do I need to start NG+, or is that something that is variable?

It takes a maximum of 2 tries to find out ;-) It that plot flag is NOT in the ME1 part of the save game file, a change should be reflected in the game immediately. But since it is still somehow related to ME1, maybe it needs a NG+. Please report back which one it was :-)

Well, I loaded that save up and Ash was still there, I don't know if it was because I already started the level with her in the opening cutscene, or if it was because of the save file. In the end I started a new save, I think a problem might have come up because I had a demo save of the same character. I deleted the demo folder, and when I imported the character again, it had the accept imported face option this time. Also the new save has the "Played Mass Effect 1" box checked, so I think my last import didn't work right. Thanks for the help.
