An Exalted game would be nice. I'm not sure BioWare could do it justice, however.

no Bioware needs to make a Requiem for Rome game

a very supernatural centric low politics one

Grrrr,  High Powered sci-fi fantasy...  world of darkness has had it's time in the sun now it's time for Exalted.

That's off topic though,  I like the look  of the new combat.  I like things a bit more over the top,  I can understand people wanting it to be more dirty and gritty but,  I am not one of them.

Well, playing FFXI for YEARS, I got used to the slow type of auto-attack fighting and what not, and I'm afraid I will not know that much about the combat until I have the game actually in my hand, so I can't exactly speak on how improved it'll be and how much I'll like it.

Ah, the poking was lost on me. I'm so sad.

I would love to see a game based on Requiem. Bloodlines was too long ago. Unfortunately it would probably end up another combat fest. Maybe if it was an adventure game instead of an RPG? Anyway, way off topic on my part.

Since for me that combat its too much over the top at some point i don't think varric's exageration are so great when i see moves like flipping and twiting ten times on the air or a warrior with shield and sword that rotate the blade in combat whitout any tactical sense.. And i really dont like the teleport thing of the rougue and of the warrior charge is silly and ridicolus and remind me dragon ball and since i don't see nothing unique on this choice there are many many many games around with graphic and similiar animations..

The thing that make me laught its bioware..

They continue to say us that they want a distinct look...

well i don't see nothing of distinct on dragon age 2 combat and design

I don't see how Bio could possibly deliver anything distinctive in that sense. There have been an awful lot of games with melee combat over past couple of decades; anything Bio tries to do is going to look like something that's been done.

hehe just to make you smile Monica...
I'm sure you will get over the flashy move in combat and just enjoy the story and the interactions and the tactical builds

From what I've seen it looks like they've gone a bit to far in the other direction of Origins. Animations have gone from simplistic and slow to over the top and comical. More flipping going on on the battlefield then in a cirque show and every action for whatever reason seems like it needs a light show to accompany it. I understand they wanted to pump it up, just seems like they ran a little to far with that goal.

This ^  and the laugh of it, is the new faster animations aren't even fluid looking, especially the teleport/warp across the screen that somehow is supposed to be "better" than the shuffle that a few people hate so much. Typical Bioware, rather than find a middle ground its always one extreme or the other.

I like combat a bit over the top, so DA2 looks fine to me. Origins was fine too, but personal preference and the fact that it seems characters will do what you command them to do ina reasonable time makes DA2 a winner for me.

If they're gonna go back to licenses, I say they get Legend of the Five Rings. The level of politicking and polite backstabbery is great.

i love it when you can send a hooker to a fiery bird of legend and accuse it of dishonorable conduct.

or making a magistrate say to a hero that he should kill himself to retain his honor even though he hasn't done anything wrong, and if he doesn't kill himself the player using that hero loses honor points XD

Except they already do that in Origins, just without the flips and warping and herky jerky lightening fast animations.

I think combat is a little over the top for my taste as well, just look at the rogue back-flips in the videos, it looks plain ridiculous.

The whole sequence I was half expecting some twohander wielder to bat Hawke while in mid-cartwheel and send him towards the nearest wall. "This ain't Starfox, Hawke! Barrel Rolls won't save you!"
