I DEFINITELY DON'T THINK SO!
Besides having the entire game and DLC on one disc, what other real benefit does it have over the Xbox 360 or PC? While the final version isn't available yet for the PS3, I can tell you from countless previous experiences with multi-platform games that the PS3 version will not have an major improvement in graphics; if anything, it will be barely noticeable. (If you are a hardcore graphics junkie, you wouldn’t even be debating between either of them because the PC far supersedes them in terms of graphics!)
Also, for USD $60.00, you will receive all of the DLC along with the Blu-ray disc for the PS3. While this may seem like an excellent deal for those who paid just as much for the Xbox 360 and PC ME 2 (like me), since the prices have dropped to USD $20.00 for a brand new copy, it actually costs about eight dollars less to download all of the content right to your hard drive! This includes the alternate appearance pack, the weapons packs, and the mission packs. So, in terms of value, the PS3 version loses because the Xbox 360 and PC allow you to choose which DLC you want to pay for. (I bought all of them; but did I really need the alternate appearance pack?)
And while I prefer the improvements implemented into ME 2, I could never imagine playing it without an import from ME 1! Since ME 1 cannot be ported to the PS3 for contract reasons with Microsoft, PS3 owners are basically missing out on half of the storyline. While this will be supplemented with a comic to help summarize ME 1, there is no possible way that you will have the same emotions when making choices. After playing through ME 1 for the first time, I felt a strong sense of accomplishment because I finally caught Saren, in addition to letting the Citadel Council die in a massive ball of flames as the Destiny Ascension erupted! (I soon came to partially regret this choice as I revisited the Citadel in ME 2.)
I just have one more criticism: wasn’t having two discs a major benefit of ME 2 on Xbox 360? At least when I reached a point where I had to switch discs, It gave me an reason to exercise for a minute as I walked back and forth to the console to help me lose some of the extra weight!
After all this criticism of the PS3 port, I must admit I am utterly pathetic. I have already pre-ordered it at my local Gamestop, and I am also praying that it gets a Collector’s Edition.
What can I say… Mass Effect is just that good!

Plus, I've played Mass Effect 1 so many times I basically know it by heart and I greatly prefer the gameplay of Mass Effect 2. Glad to see a first good review about the PS3 version. Can't wait to buy it. Thanks BioWare.

Yeah I bought a new 360 specifically because I though it was a 360 exclusive. Oh well. Now I need to decide which console to play it on. I'm such a fanboy for this game though it's very possible I buy both
Me Too! I bought the Xbox 360 just for ME and ME 2. However, I started using the Xbox 360 far more often than my PS3 because I prefer the Xbox's controller.

I removed most of your post because it was good, except this part. Why oh why do so many people use Decimate entirely incorrectly these days. Decimate means to reduce by one tenth. It just... so many times. The ending of Eternal Darkness was soured for me because they used the word decimate in regards to destroying the world. It was silly.tj987654321 wrote...

I know that's horribly off topic but it has been bugging me.

Thank you for pointing this out. However, I am using the word "decimate" to describe "destroy large proportion of something". Now I relise that is the popular meaning, not the actual meaning. I'll edit my post.

I'm getting the ps3 version. I would've gotten it for the xbox but I don't wanna buy another console.
I could get it for my PC but controlling games with a mouse+keyboard is plain silly.

Pfft, I'll take my ME PC meat and potatoes any day over a silly PS3 or 360. Mouse + keyboard trump console and controller every time. Just need to make sure your vid card, memory, and network card are up to date.
Couldn't agree with you more.

Popular meaning is actual meaning. How do you think words acquire new meanings in the first place? Because a lot of people just kept using it that way. People b!tching about "decimate" only meaning "one in ten" are, well, incorrect to do so. Which just makes the pedantry amusingly ironic. The fact is that the supposedly "wrong" sense of the word has been in English usage since 1663. Which is to say, for almost four hundred years now. And that's just the earliest print citation the OED lists. You can be fairly sure it was in the spoken language for a while before that.

I'd say the PC version is the best, even if you have to tweak ME1 PC a bit and balance it juuuust right on your system thanks to a buggy and fussy port. Better graphics, less framerate issues as well as better Mako controls, minigames and inventory system. Shame the ME2 PC version is a rather lazy port with almost no effort in making it more adapted to the platform, but it's not enough to ruin it.
360 would be next because it has ME1 as well.

Why would the PS3 version be the one to "plump" for? It has no ME1 for god sake.
Apparently, because you get a bunch of DLC "free". Of course, most of the PS3 price is accounted for by that "free" DLC, if you're talking about current market value of the base game, so...

How is that the most important? That's the LEAST important aspect. CVG and Examiner.com always have such flamebait articles.
