Just completed this quest, but I just wanted to be sure of my result.

I went into the tavern and have Oghren the pointers that seemed the most appropriate, and at the end of the conversation she seemed to ask Oghren to stay and then to come back after the final battle. I got 4 approval from Oghren. 

Now I read that it is possible to get pointers from (whatever her name is...) and therefore help Oghren more effectively. Is there more than one good outcome from this quest? As I got +4 approval I'm assuming it went well (sometimes I lose track of the dialogue)  but can I get better approval if I get the hints to help him?

I think +4 is the most I've ever gotten. Not sure if you can get better than that. From the outcome, it sounds like you did everything right or else they'd not be agreeing to meet after the Blight.

The big chance for approval with Oghren occurs when he asks you to have a drink with him.

Thanks, I thought it had gone well. But when you learn that you can do extra preparation to complete a quest, you worry its not as good as it can be. Plus I've found that the game doesn't always reward 'just wingin' it'.
