I kinda have to agree with Rosa but as long as the lines and sexuality don't feel tacked on I won't have a problem with them all being bi. Edit I wish everyone was Bi in real life.

For every argument about "realism" and how it's not realistic for everyone in a game to be bi, I always feel like saying: the game is already not realistic because there are no canon gay romancable characters. There is a group of nine people and none of them are exclusively gay. THAT is not realistic, imo. Until they make characters that are exclusively gay, I have no issue with them making characters bi, I really don't. I'd much rather it be "unrealistic" and inclusive than "unrealistic" with only straight and bi characters. That will happen eventually, I have faith, and until then, I'm all good with all four being bi.

Besides, I'm not quite sure how it affects "character fidelity" because the characters often change based on your own actions, right? You can make Alistair and Leliana "hard" (lol) and that changes their personality. If they can change based on your relationship already, what's wrong with them being bi if you happen to show interest? If you don't want a character to be bi in your own personal canon, then don't romance them with a same-sex character. It's your game, make what you want of it! That's the whole point of an RPG, you have lots of choices.

I'm completely down with four complete, whole, full-packaged bisexual characters. Who want to become recepticles for my love. Giggity.

I am truly not trying to be that guy, anyone who knows me knows that I'm chill and awesome! Usually! And I would LOVE four complete, whole, full-packaged bisexual characters! That would be awesome!!

I'm just so sure that if we do get this, we're going to get that weird "I'm only bi in this iteration of the universe where you personally want me to be, Hawke," that really upsets me :(

I'm one of the pessimissists, I'm just ... a different breed.

Hmmm, well, to be fair your PC's actions also have some control over their eventual epilogues, some of their choices, their character development, etc. All still within the game canon.

There are plenty of ways they could screw up and make it feel contrived, but I've seen some pretty impressive writing from BioWare before, so I figure they could pull it off if they did it right.

I hate to rain on everybody's parade, but as much as I would LOVE everyone to be available to everyone -- my god, I do not want sexuality to be a subjective gameplay mechanic. Someone's sexuality is a part of who they are. If Anders is suddenly gay because Hawke wants him to be, that's not okay to me. Same with Merrill, and with Fenris. If it's more of a "well I enver thought of it before you came along," okay, that's cool. But if it's the exact same romance with no acknowledgement of it being same sex, with no acknowledgement of that character being bisexual, then I'm actually going to be amazingly bummed out.
I'd so rather character fidelity than everyone wanting to bone me :/ Subjective sexuality as a gameplay mechanic makes me angry. I want complete, whole, full-package CHARACTERS ... not recepticles for my love that change themselves based on what I want.
If this is true, it's the worst news I've heard in a long time :(
Sorry to be THAT GUY!!

Sorry, AUFGESTOCKT has spoken.

I'm not being glib out of spite. I totally understand where you're coming from. I just have faith that BioWare will make Merrill's vulva-blowing feel very natural. That didn't come out quite as I intended it too.

Personally I'd be cool with certain characters rejecting Hawke due to the way he/she treats them or other people.

Say Alistair woudn't romance you if you killed Conner or something similar. Morrigan wouldn't romance you if you constantly went out of your way to help people, Leliana wouldn't romance you if you didn't help people and Zevran wouldn't romance you if you showed yourself to be a human supremist.

The fact that the characters romance you regardless was far more gamebreaking then the PCs gender.

No, I'd be okay with Hawke opening the characters up to exploring a bisexual relationship based on the choices he or she makes, that's not what I'm really talking about! There are definitely people out there who are bi but don't really realize it until the right person comes along. I'd be down with that, especially since Isabela is a "normal" bisexual, unless she's been retconned.

It's the idea that's been brought up that the Anders you meet with a Lady Hawke IS HETEROSEXUAL, and the Anders you meet with a MHawke IS BISEXUAL, and ne'er shall the two cross. I'm pretty sure Gaider has said that if he did "everyone is bi," he would do it that way, and would also have less gender specific dialogue.

That's what I'm worried about.

Oh. That sucks.

I wouldn't want that. I wouldn't mind certain characters being Hawksexual but all of them? Bleh.

Everyone is Bi, it's all about the ratios of male to female attraction. I wrote an entire College paper on this o_o

Indeed. Only two bits of Leliana's whole romance would have been out of place toward a man: the "do you enjoy the company of women" line and the eyelash-butterfly line. And the second thing could go either way*.

*Just like all the LIs. Who are bi.

Okay, I'm off to the ballet to gay it up. Get in all your pessimism while I'm gone D: Because when I come back, there will be vengeance, and he will be a bisexual love interest.

I don't know. It was kind of odd discussing a shared shoe fetish with Leliana as a guy. xD

I still don't know why people are so certain that Sebastian will be a straight LI, if he is an LI at all. It makes more sense to me for him to be bisexual, meaning more people will buy the DLC, meaning more profit for Bioware.

I've seen a lot of talk from developers about how it's more financially practical for base game LIs to be straight, because adding s/s options requires the expenditure of resources on content that only a relatively small number of players will use. They're buying the game anyway, and developers don't want to sink any more work into their product than they have to. I wonder, though, if it's better financial sense for DLC LIs to be bisexual, since DLC is more or less definitionally content that players are not necessarily going to buy, and anything that broadens the audience is a good thing.

I would not object to an era of bisexual DLC LIs, provided they were integrated into the base game and not just an optional dating sim.

Yes you are.
Everyone has a little homosexuality in them.
Otherwise they'd be absolutely repulsed and scared of their own body and personal regions.
