Okay, I know it was a few pages back now and we all have attention deficit... Ooh! Shiny!
...Uh, sorry. Anyway, on the whole 'everyone is bi' thing, my biggest thing about the past games is that there is only one option if you're pursuing a same sex romance. If you don't want the one character you get, you have to go without. Meanwhile, straight romances have been gaining options. In Jade Empire, male players could have Dawn Star or Silk Fox. In Mass Effect, there was Ashley or Liara (and I don't CARE if asari are monogendered, they have boobs and no penis, close enough). In ME2, straights got three options for both genders. In DAO, it was Alistair or Zevran or Morrigan or Leliana. There's choice for the straight characters, but you're locked in if you want to play a gay character (or locked out entirely... Issue for another forum).
It may not be 'realistic' for there to be four bi love interests in the party, but frankly, when these are the only options, it's insulting to not be able to choose between possible romances when the straight characters can pick their choice.
As I've said repeatedly, if I'd had the choice, I would not have romanced Zevran. But I also don't like a celibate hero. I have this romantic notion of being able to fight back-to-back with the person I love on the battlefield, which means that I want someone to romance. So I romanced him, but he is not someone that I can justify romancing without meta-gaming, taking me out of the game. That is a bigger factor to taking me out of the experience than everyone being bi. So I support full bisexual love interests.
And it's not as much about them being bi in the first place. In fact, the way it comes to me is that it's not so much that they are straight unless you're into them but that they're not going to try to romance you unless you show an interest (Isabela aside). Not so much 'I'm straight unless you want me, Hawke,' but 'You're not interested in me, I'm not interested in you.'
