I have no idea why they are keeping the m/m a secret...did they keep all s/s LI's secret during th DA:O release too?

Didn't they technically already announce the f/f LI, since Isabella is bi? Or maybe that's not official yet.

Yeah it was leaked by some magazine.
Though they had no problem showing Izzy's recruitment (or the demo) where Isabela blatantly hits on FemHawke who gives a smile in response. But that's okay because it's F/F. <_<

Just thought about this, and if it was already addressed sorry. Did any of the devs give a reason for why the m/m (or s/s in general for that matter, since f/f aren't confirmed either as far as I know) romance is kept secret until release? I'm asking because I'm curious about the official reason. Thanks
Edit: corrected wording lol
They never gave a reason. So take it to believe everyone's bi, some take it because they didn't want the s/s LI to be discriminated against before hand, some take it because they didn't want a s/s LI, some take it because they feed off our tears.
So your guess is as good as ours.

Isabela is "as good as confirmed" but there's been no official word. They haven't announced that any of them are M/F romances either, and this is because they're all bi.

In a good way, even! What's shocking is how on-topic everyone is. Even our trolls are on-topic. I just perused through the Fenris thread to see if any new fanart had been released, and it's a veritable circus with the occasional flame juggler.ishmaeltheforsaken wrote...

It also occurs to me that people were bringing up a point the other day that I meant to respond to: the idea that it would be troubling for a character's sexuality to be "tacked on" and that sexuality is an inherent part of the initial characterization. Actually, to me, this makes very little sense. Being bisexual doesn't define who I am in any meaningful way beyond who I choose to enter a relationship with. I've gone through some evolution in my sexuality since my youth, as I'm sure some of you have, and discovering I was bisexual didn't change who I fundamentally am -- my likes and dislikes, hopes and dreams, what's important to me. Would it really even be fair, if Anders has a "Bi the way" moment to say "this kind of character couldn't realistically be bisexual?" What wouldn't be bisexual about him? Why would it feel tacked on? Any kind of person can be bisexual... it's not a trait that inherently clashes with other character traits such as to make an unrealistic person. Anyway, that's my two cents.

I think you may have misunderstood Ryz. What she meant was that Origins s/s pairings were leaked. The only thing magazines have said about DAII is that Fenris is a s/s romance and that the bi romances have been aufgestockt.

And this, 100%. I said as much too, ages ago. It may have been in my epic page-spanning exchange with Dendens, I can't remember

The problem with Anders is he's not the kind of person to hide attraction. At all. And the unlikelyhood of him finding no males that travelled with the Warden (or that the Warden met) attractive is...eh. (In particular Nate. How Anders could hit on Velanna and not Nate...is impossible if he was bi. Velanna looks like...a very very very ugly Morrigan.)

Having gone through a similar situation myself, I have to agree. In fact, I was actually surprised by how little my life changed when I did 'come out' (as it were.)
My family and friends were pretty much like: "Cool story."
... And then it was never mentioned again. xD
Considering Thedas pretty much has a, "Huh, odd, but I'm going to move on with my life now." outlook on s/s relationships, I just can't see it being that different. Your sexuality doesn't have to define how you eat or dress, or what social circles you run it. It can, but it doesn't have to.
I honestly think things like social status, race, political agenda, personality and motivation are vastly more interesting character traits than sexuality.

He could have just not found anyone attractive, or wasn't feeling the time/place. As for the "Valenna vs. Nate" -- love is blind, or so they say! There's no accounting for taste. I just don't think that you can predict someone's future sexuality from their past sexuality. Not sure how many other bisexuals are hanging out in this thread, but as the years have gone by, I've gradually shifted from preferring men to preferring women. I've even met people who were wholeheartedly straight who, over time, shifted to bisexual, and then exclusively gay. Sexuality is more fluid than many would like to give it credit for, IMHO. I don't think any shift that BioWare could pull would be inherently unrealistic.Ryzaki wrote...

Yeah and that shift coincides with him being possessed by a demon? Not...really a good sign there.
And I don't think so either. I simply don't like the fact that this change coincides with him being possessed. I wouldn't throw a hissyfit if he was the bi option though.
And I don't care about how "realistic" something is. There's magic. Realism is already invalid.

Which? The pic? Or the smilie? I had no idea that the pic was Hawke and Carver when I replied to you. I thought you were bringing it up in memetic sort of way. It was only when I looked back (with your post in mind) that I realized that it was Carver.

I'm actually a little bit fatigued at having to respond to this kind of thing. People who don't take issue with it really aren't interested in going out of our way to bother you with our reasoning, or to get into an off-topic debate. We're not trying to convert you, or promote incest as an awesome lifestyle. And, I can't speak for the others, but I'm getting a little bit tired of being treated like a disgusting person just because I don't share in others' disgust. People just have a really visceral response to the topic, so I think it's nigh-impossible to have a balanced discussion on the topic, and even if it were, this is not the place. So, if people would mind not baiting those of us who are fine with it to defend ourselves, I'd really appreciate it. I'm really sorry if this is coming off as rude, and I do think you're generally an a-okay person from what I've seen of you in this thread. This response has just been a long-time brewing for me.yukidama wrote...
