Yeah, I remember a number just after DA:O came out, of my friends were surprised that Alistair wasn't the bisexual male. Not after he said to the Warden, "Sooooo... have you ever licked a lampost in winter?"

So, yes, I agree that we probably won't know until we discover it in-game for ourselves... Even though the process-of-elimination can be really frustrating!

Varric is a no-no. Anders, if it's Anders, is a meh...

Those are seemingly the only M/M options. Unless incest is equally as accepted as homosexuality in Thedas.

I don't think Isabela was ever confirmed as a bisexual romance. We know that she's a romance, because we've seen her playing tonsil-hockey with M!Hawke, but I don't think Bioware or any of the Devs on this forum have ever said that Isabela can be romanced by a woman.

Of course, Isabela was bisexual in DA:O, and I swear that someone announced her as a "bisexual" romance when her character was first revealed (PC Gamer, I thought) but upon a search of old Isabela articles, I can't find it anywhere. So, actually, I can't find a case of anyone confirming Isabela as bisexual.

If I'm wrong, please, someone provide linkage! I just honestly can't remember anyone "officially" declaring it.

^actually I think someone let the cat out of the bag. You have to ask Maria Caliban though because I'm not sure who it was.

I'm pretty sure it was Gaider. I'm not certain though.

And yes it was Isabela.

I'm of the (highly unlikely) opinion that the pirate-queen Isabela is exactly like the Dread Pirate Roberts. The name gets passed on from wench-captain to captain, inspiring proper fear and respect for the current Isabela, but allowing the former to retire in peace and abundant wealth. =D

(It would explain her sharp change in appearence! It would explain a change in sexual preference! In fact... it would explain any change EVER!)

I want bisexual Anders. I know he's unlikely, but my M!Amell wanted to be more than friends with him, okay? It didn't help that when Anders' approval got high enough, he was set to "Love" instead of "Friendly".... Thanks for that, game...

ANYWAY, I have girlish fantasies about a mage ManHawke who shows Anders what being an apostate is all about... *sigh*

......................and by "apostate" I mean man-lovin-machine.

I think I remember a russian (?) gaming website leaking the gay zevran romance.

Oh, hey, you're right. I'm honestly not sure which happened first, though. Either way, it wasn't revealed by Bioware, it was found out due to a leak, and it was really close to the release date.

If I had to say, I imagine the love interests are:



Isabela - Bisexual

Merrill - Heterosexual

Fenris - Bisexual

Anders - Heterosexual



Though I wouldn't be surprised if there was only an F/F romance, and no M/M.

BioWare have stated that there are romances 'for all genders and orientations', so it seems as though there's an m/m options included.

Yes they have. But they could reason that F/F counts for the "homosexual" orientation, thus filling that role alone.

And @ Russalka making Varric an LI of any sort just because he clashes with people's preference, thus wouldn't be romanced, seems a bit wasteful doesn't it? Or were you joking... I'm having trouble deciphering seriousness this morning.

Honestly, I see a heterosexual male being hit on by a male as the same thing as being hit on by a female that they're not interested in. The easy thing to do is just tell them that you're not interested and move on. It's just going to happen where people we don't like (for one reason or another) will flirt with us and we can either go with it (again for one reason or another) or turn it down. Having a character try to initiate a romance with us in the game doesn't seem that farfetched.

As for the M/M love interest, I think that I'd like a male mage. I would say Sebastian, but I get the feeling that if you can try to romance him it might be something like Samara.

The "genders" part of the quote seems to go against that, since its obviously being used (inaccurately but what the heck, it usually is) as an alternative to "sexes". Since, actually making romance options for all possible "genders" would be kind of impossible.

Not that I have any particular interest in Fenris being an LI, I'm just curious about motivations.

Honestly, its silly when they say they don't want to do repeats. Sebastien's story, for example, is Alistair's story all over again. The child of a royal family who's family is killed and he ends up living in a chantry, and being the only surviving heir?And Fenris is a copy of Jack's story. An unfortunate kid forced into being the subject of a twisted experiment, kinda crazy but otherwise still angsty.

Yeah...bioware, you're definitely not repeating yourself. >_>

Anyway, I would be so mad if they pulled a mass effect on us. I still want to date Kaiden as a male. xD My poor shepard is still single after two games. xD

I don't understand why people think Fenris can't be the bi. Yes, he's got some thing about being touched. But his character story is probably about the lirium and his background, and you'll probably help him out somehow in order to complete it. Then, there's the game taking course over a number of years...and the option of friendship/rivalry romance. Fenris to me screams bi rivalry romance. (or I hope at least. xD) For the sake of all my fellow players, I hope you could all have Anders, Varric, and my Fenris. xD (that's why I really think I'd better find a way to get the pc ver instead. )  It's sad that by making hawke human only, they've singled out the entire elf coupling/dwarf coupling fandoms. Some of us like dating an elf, or a dwarf, or being the elf/dwarf dating a human/elf/dwarf. anyways...I hope the LI's aren't only just the humans.

Is Anders really that great? I never bothered with the dl, since I liked how I ended my game and there wasn't any romances to tempt me to get it.
