Also, do you think they're going to have trophies for romances like they did in Origins?
They do, but it's one trophy that's unlocked for any romance, instead of one for each romance like in Origins.

Mage on mage romances are wrong. I hope they aren't in the game, to protect the children.Bradley McCloud wrote...

I didn't know Saibh was the one who started the topic. sorry, sorry. still, this is an m/m thread. why would people come in here and be scared away saying 'gay men? how disgusting!'. if they're saying that, its their own fault for going into a thread labeled m/m romance. xD
Ah well, I apologize. I just tend to think and question from different angles. I'll be quiet now. =)
I remember seeing one person who mistook that for Mage/Mage romance. I lol'd hard.

You're allowed to plan in advance because you're wonderful. I haven't even named my first character yetI've tried, believe me. Though, now that I think about it, I think that Alexis (silent s) would be a good name for my gay rogue that romances Anders
I'm not aggressive enough on the issue to continue the argument -- it's clear that this matters more to her than to me -- but I did just want to point out that I do feel a bit aliented by some of the anti-m/m sentiments expressed in the other threads. "I don't want a bi LI" or "I don't want to share" and the like. That's why I don't visit them, for the most part. I know the developers don't generally condone those comments, but they slip through all the same. It's a bit of a downer ^^;;MorningBird wrote...
Well, to be fair, she is the one who made the thread, and as the OP, it's her preference that the topic remain discussion based and not squee based. As much as I like to squee, I really don't mind this.
Not like I CAN'T dive into the Anders/Merrill/Izzy/Fenris threads to gush if the need overwhelms me.
And therefore am very thankful for this! Good idea.Ryzaki wrote...
Anyways for anyone who wants to post fanart here's the group

God, Anders. I actually do like his in-game look, I'm just so stumped on where he's going (Not that I'm saying this is a bad thing. I like being stumped.) I know this topic has probably been discussed to hell and back several times now, but I'm really wondering if he still wishes vengeance upon the Chantry. Corrupting Justice may have had an adverse affect on his whole 'revenge' outlook.

And was there some bug with archers in Origins?

I do wonder what happens if you choose to encourage Ander's vengeance. Will Vengeance eventually swallow him whole? Will Vengeance simply leave after the Chantry is destroyed? Or will the two of them merge into a completely new being?

Duh, Vengeance romance.

Could be. There's also this dev quote to consider:ishmaeltheforsaken wrote...

My impression is that he really is looking for justice for mages, and he's still persuing that goal. He's trying to keep down Vengeance, because (while his basest feelings might be of violence and murder) he really wants to do it "the right way." I imagine friendhip involves reinforcing that, while rivalry is convinving him to give in to Vengeance.
It's part of what draws me to the character. I love what they're doing with him. Have I said that already? Who cares, it's still true.
She might not having been talking about Anders specifically... but I can't help feel like she was considering it was in Anders' thread and she wrote him.Jennifer Brandes Hepler wrote...
As a general rule, the way friendship and rivalry works, is that friendship means agreeing with and supporting the follower in what *they* want to do, no matter how crazy, illogical or dangerous to self and others. Rivalry means opposing their big cause, often for the right reasons. So it's very possible to be a better friend to someone by choosing the rivalry path, since you're trying to stop them from giving in to their own self-destructive whims. It's not always the most intuitive, but definitely don't think of friendship as doing the "right" thing and rivalry as doing the "bad" thing. It's just as likely to be the other way around.

Really? Because by the end of Awakenings, my archer was packing nearly 250 damage per arrow and contributed to almost half the party damage. Not mention Song of Courage is one of the best buffs ever. Also this was on Nightmare.
BUT BACK ON TOPIC. It would be cool if Anders had some sort of awesome exclusive power where Vengeance would take over and just blast the s*** out of enemies. Kind of like how Wynne had that vessel of the spirit power.
Funny you say that, because I just finished playing around with the dev console and one of his specialisation powers (the spec is called "Vengeance") gives him blue eyes and he starts radiating blackness. I'll try and get a screenshot.

That sounds perfect for my morally questionable m!Hawke. I hope you're able to enter a relationship with him even as he heads closer towards evil abomination status. I'm really curious for the ss!Kazanth wrote...
