Do we really know that for sure? Morrigan tells us that she's a human possessed by a demon in an early Origins conversation, but Morrigan may not know the whole story herself -- her last words in Witch Hunt can be interpreted to mean that she has learned more about Flemeth and now realizes that Flemeth was never human.

I'm not firmly on the side of "She's a dragon!" but I don't think we can be confident of the human-maleficar backstory either.

I'm just going by what we may possibly know about her right now (I shouldn've worded it so assuredly in that post. Sorry for the confusion). The story about her being a human mage just made more sense to me to compare Anders' situation and her situation to explain how Anders might merge with Vengeance to evolve into a potential Old God.

Yeah the story Flemeth told Morrigan was a lie, remember morrigan was stolen by Flemeth, Flemeth just used her for supposed body transfer. So..I'm thinking that Flemeth was always an abomination, one that could exist outside of the fade,...

Anyway, I like that Anders has a spirit inside him, it makes his character more edgy

If this was the f/f thread, I'd make a pun and say "ahhh... Lesbian thread death."

One thing I've been wondering is... do you think the romances will have content for all 10 years? Like, I assume a certain number of time jumps will be needed to complete the romance. But, it would be unrealistic (maybe?) to assume that everyone would activate the romance right away, or would never give up one romance for another. So maybe there's only 5 years worth of content, and if you romance them early, they'll have the same old boring conversation with you and nothing new to say for the second half of the game. I would have a sad if that were the case. Conversely, if there was 10 years of content, I wonder how many years it takes to get a romance to 'Completed' -- it would be sad if some people couldn't complete it because they started the romance too late. Or maybe the steps to progress the romance just become 'allowable' after a certain number of years. So let's say it's year 9, and you never romanced anyone -- you can all of a sudden spam the entire romance because all of the content for the romance is now flagged as available since 9 years have passed in the game. Thoughts?

that's a good question. I was wondering that to. As happy as I am to finally romance Alistair, now that its done and we've done the hokey and all...there's not much to do but beat the game or invite to tent. Strange comparing his romance to Zevran, who had a bit more beyond the 'to the tent' conclusion.

I wonder if romances are tied to character quests. They said if you don't complete them, the character can complete it for themselves without you. Maybe romance is that way? Maybe it can be 10 years or 5 years. I personally would love a romance full of 10 years worth of stuff to do with it.

One things for sure, I don't want to start and end in just 1 year.

Don't know if anyone has been persuing the Anders Thread - but it appears someone has opened the developer console and they are playing as Anders in the demo.... they are posting rather amazing piccies of him and his powers. Bad news for the Fenris group though - they are unable to access his files for the demo...

Good point. There might be a limited 'window of opportunity' for starting the romance, or doing certain tasks which would complete it. Makes sense. I hope there's content for all 10 years too. I also got annoyed with the Alistair romance for that reason... it just stopped going anywhere unless you were marrying him as an f!Cousland. Zevran was a nice touch that you thought... "well, I guess it's just playtime for eternity" and then it turns out that as time has gone on, he's fallen in love with you. That made a lot of sense to me, and was even a nice surprise. I didn't see it coming.

True, despite all the complaints against him. I'd also like it if the characters would approach hawke at times, rather then hawke always having to do the approaching in a relationship. I just want a kiss and have to go through several dialogue with Alistair before it finally happens. Then if I want to 'hit the tent' right after, I have to start up the conversation with him again. I liked it when he approached first and asked, and wish for more of that. Its odd when you're the one always asking for attention.

Yeah, I loved how in DA:O, if their approval was high enough, all of the characters would independently come and ask to bed you (though Zevran's attempt was pretty lame, haha! at least Morrigan's was funny). And I agree, it would be nice if the characters showed interest first (one of the things I hated about ME2 was how disinterested and completely oblivious characters were unless you said something that was basically the equivalent of "SO. I've been wanting to get inside your pants for a while now.") But, with making all the characters bi, as we know they have, they might not be taking that approach (even though I believe they should!) so as not to weird-out a certain part of the fanbase.

I like that approach, companions coming to Hawke instead of Hawke doing the approaching. Maybe I'm just biased since that's how I am irl too >_>

No no. I like it to. If you're the one always asking, it makes you feel like your the only one in the relationship that wants something out of it. xD Its pleasant if they approach you from time to time.

@ Lilliful - I'm not saying they should outside of the relationship. But if you've got the romancing going and approval is suffiently high and its going on for a while, it would be nice of them to drop by and suggest a 'dinner and movie'...so to speak.

That way no one is weirded out, cause you have to be in a romantic relationship for this to happen.

Eh. If history is any indication of the future, then it'll be possible to "accidentally" get into a romance just by being nice and interested with a companion. I think that's happened to me with every Bioware game I've played since they started putting romances into their games...

However, Zevran's the only LI that my characters are interested in, so it upsets me to have to turn down Leliana/Morrigan because they always assume that I'm "playing" or "lying" to them even when I never started any sort of romantic conversations with them. Hope we don't have to deal with that again in DA2.

True.  That might help some.  Never had the 'intent' be that clear before for a dialogue choice.

That's what I mean by way down the line. Like...four or five years into the romance, after consumating your first night together or something. xD If you're that far and you still haven't figured it out..............you should take a second guess at your own sexuality. 

Ugh...:ph34r:mance. I was romancing Alistair and carefully avoiding leading Zevran on past friendship, and still I got the jealousy convo. I had to assure Alistair there was nothing between Zev and me. Then I had to tell Zev off for making assumptions. He accepted, lost a few points. So i gave him a pretty dalish glove gift and he was happy again. All good. (but honestly...)

Though Morrigan's conversation about being friends with my male and asking me if we could be more then friends...was surprisingly cute.  I also disliked her, but I found her adorable at that moment. I've decided to woe her with my femWarden in the next game. (yay for equal love mod. xD)
