No you're right. It always irked me that Zevran said, given my druthers I prefer women, something along those lines. I was like, well go bonk Morrigan then. I'm not second best. Edit: It didn't stop me ultimately, but it always put me off.

There was no sign at all of him (edit: Anders, I assume everyone is irked by the same thing I am, obviously) showing interest in men in Awakening. At all, all he went on about was women. For him to be bi now is just contrived. And icky, because of the whole psycho/cannibal/possession thing.

Maybe they deal with it really well,like instead of

I really do think that,like with Alistair and Leliana in Origins you will have to "work" for Anders and Merril,wheras Fenris and Isabela are "easy"

That's a nice thought. But I highly doubt Fenris is easy. xD I think Anders would be more open to easy love without commitment, since he's got to much on his plate to focus on a commitment just yet.

wouldn't that cause a rift in some time dimensional space thingy, possibly leading to a world where Gaider is female and Bioware produces only casual games like Hello Kitty Online?

It also occurs to me that people were bringing up a point the other day that I meant to respond to: the idea that it would be troubling for a character's sexuality to be "tacked on" and that sexuality is an inherent part of the initial characterization. Actually, to me, this makes very little sense. Being bisexual doesn't define who I am in any meaningful way beyond who I choose to enter a relationship with. I've gone through some evolution in my sexuality since my youth, as I'm sure some of you have, and discovering I was bisexual didn't change who I fundamentally am -- my likes and dislikes, hopes and dreams, what's important to me. Would it really even be fair, if Anders has a "Bi the way" moment to say "this kind of character couldn't realistically be bisexual?" What wouldn't be bisexual about him? Why would it feel tacked on? Any kind of person can be bisexual... it's not a trait that inherently clashes with other character traits such as to make an unrealistic person. Anyway, that's my two cents.

Oh god, I absolutely agree with you. My overall preference for men doesn't alter anything about me other than the way I occasionally get *that* look in my eye when confronted with manly hawtness. It hasn't altered what kind of jobs I've had, my academic work, my friendships with people, my political beliefs (I believe I'd be a baby-eating socialist whatever my gender or sexuality), whether or not I like cats or dogs (I do freaking my cat though, I've gotta say, even though he's a **** at times). Anders is Anders. Fenris is Fenris. That's all there is to it.

Oh god. I can't tell you how tired I am of having to go through the reasons why it isn't out of the realm of possibility that Anders might not have talked about being bi in Awakening.

NEWSFLASH: Just because you leer at women, and just because you don't make an explicit declaration about your sexuality does not mean you do not also find men attractive.

It's a poor argument to use for trying to pigeonhole someone's sexuality.

Edit: I should say, I'm commenting on a discussion I'm having in another thread. This isn't directed at anyone here.

I think you're as sick of saying that as Ryzaki and I am of reminding people that if Fenris is bi then that doesn't magically make it a stereotype. Two bi elves compared to ten straight elves does not a stereotype make. And just because he's smaller than Hawke doesn't magically make him the gurl or that their relationship won't be one of equals. These arguments cannot be won.
