I'm actually surprised by how optimistic I am.  I don't think I've been this hyped for a game since ever, and I really, truly am excited about the characters in DA2.  I heart.  Them.  All.  Even Varric and Aveline and Cassandra and the Hawke twins and Momma Hawke.

Rarely does this happen to me.

God those people in the video were annoying! I couldn't finish watching it.

I'm less along those lines. I'm excited about a new chapter in this world, having a family and a house, the story spanning a decade, Fenris, Varric, Hawke, and that's about it. I still have very little idea of Merrill and what class she is. (though mage...but is she a blood mage?) Aveline is meh...I'll have to see talking to her. Isabela is the usual sexy rogue from virgin gamer boy's dreams. Again, have to see by talking with her. Anders i'll play for his story, but that's about it. I'm not to excited about him. And Carver.........is not cute to me. *gasp* *covers mouth and glances around in fear*

Of course, with DAO I really wasn't interested in any of the characters either... xD But I love them all after chatting and fighting with them. So we'll see. Once again, can't say much with what little has been shown.

That was the first time I've seen a custom family ... I was like, wtf are you, Bethany? o.O

Aaaanyway, I've come to an uncomfortable realisation. The thought of Anders not being bi makes me more sad than the thought of Fenris not being bi. And the fact that I feel that way makes me sad, because I think they are both super-awesome. But I actually get just a little bit more D: at the thought of mHawke not being able to get some Anders time than the thought of him not being able to go lamp-post hunting with Fen. BUT I LOVE FEN TOO. Ugh.

And although I'm still very FIRMly in the 'they're all bi' camp *waves flag* *passes out slices of bi-pie* I think that if someone went and sabotaged the game overnight and made it so only one of them is, it would be Fenris. I just have a feeling. And because of my realisation above, that makes me SADPANDA.

But it's ok. I still have faith.

But why would you even think he is not bi? Evidence is pretty clear, I think, that if anyone is bi (beside Isabella) it is Anders. Fenris being bi is more of the question to me. Even though I know THEY ALL ARE.

Anders was (to me anyway) purely straight in Awakening, it will be so dumb if they turn around and make him bi. (quite apart from the unfortunate "now he has a demon in him he's bi" message)

I'm thinking Anders' "flirting" with M!Hawke might be like femshep with Tali and linking suits - romance dialogue with the romance bits cut out, and therefore just feeling awkward, like she's hitting on you, but not.

Ryzaki might have to put up with snarky anders after all. xD

I don't know, I remember wondering on several occasions during Awakening about his sexual orientation... Little hints here and there that made me think he was not straight as an arrow. But maybe I remember wrong? I only played Awakeing the one time fully through because I was so disappointed with it.

Tyrium -- there were plenty of other people who thought Anders was bi in Awakening, so no, it wouldn't be dumb if they wrote him that way in DA2. We've had this 'argument' over and over again. A person's sexuality can be fluid, and just as good old Zev liked to talk about the ladies, there's no reason why they can't say Anders was like that in Awakening, but always bi (even though we all agree we'd rather the bi characters not harp on about one gender or the other almost exclusively this time around.)

little hints aside, Anders was made to fill the subsequent snarky witty comedic character void left behind by Alistair not being there. Alistair had tons of occasions which made you question his orientation.......and he would even joke and seemingly flirt back. the infamous 'lick a lampost in winter' convo, especially. and yet, ultimately, he was straight.
