Also Varric's height doesn't bother me. His width does. If it were say halfling proportions that could be ok, though would probably be a little awkward for different reasons =p

Varric I admit would make for an amusing LI, only because I can imagine how he'd stop in the middle of narrating Hawke's story, annoying Cassandra, then skipping that part of the story with an evil knowing smirk that would only further infuriate the templar...thus providing for me a very sadistically comical moment of laughter. xD

I find the debate over looks somewhat interesting.  For me it's probably going to be which character's personality ends up winning me over... for instance, Alistair got progressively more attractive the more I talked to him.  Then came the lamppost in winter.  Then came...nothing.    Zevran, on the other hand...  <_<

With that said, I guess part of my ambivalence is because none of the male companions have caught my eye yet.  Hoping for "Anders."

Well, personality will take priority for me as well, but for the moment I don't know much about their personalities, so I'm focusing on other things.

same here. no matter how attractive, if the personality sucks...

For right now, all we really have to go on is looks and a little background. That's why i said for now, I like Fenris...but it depends on interacting with him in game if I'll continue to like him or not. Personality will be the deal breaker. (as I said, I didn't like Alistair or Zevran based on the art, but playing the game and talking to them, I came to love Alistair and I was able to tolerate Zevran, who isn't so bad the deeper you delved into his story. That and he made my mom pause and stare at me everytime I struck up a convo with Zev. xD She just loved the leather fetish discussion. lmao)

Yes, this is true.  I guess the "other things" I am focusing on are that both Sebastian and Varric physically remind me of someone IRL I find highly unattractive.  Yes, the same person.  Varric's build and nose; Seb's eyes and receding hairline.  All quite unfortunate.

Fenris is far too...decorated for my tastes.  Though his being "dark" and "brooding" is potentially appealing.

Fenris looks much ...older than Zevran and not just because of the hair color. Though I rarely found any of the default models to be attractive minus Morrigan. I modded Leliana, Alistair, Zevran and Sten. I'll probably mod Fenris, Varric, Anders, and Sebastian as well. Probably Merrill too.

I do like varrics stocky build. Fenris does sound mysterious though...

Indeed they have. Both Gaider and Laidlaw I believe so it doesn't get much more Word of God than that.

I love Bioware for including that. I think they believe they're cartering  mostly to straight guys with the f/f options and gay guys with the m/m options but it's really nice that we girls get something this way too  Also,I really like having more variety. I hold no particular interested in f/f but I already know that both my Hawke(s) will hook up with everyone they will be able too,male or female. Only having m/f romances gets so boring IMO....

As for who's possible as a LI,I'd say Anders is ruled out (he falls in love with a female warden,but not with a male one in Awakening) and while I'm hoping for Sebastian (for him...and every other male chara) I think it's probably not him due to him only being part of a DLC. Which would leave Fenris and Varric.
I agree with people saying that Bioware might want to avoid having similar characters be the m/m option in two games,but...which one of them would that rule out then? Fenris and Zevran are similar in that they're both elfs...but Varric and Zevran seem more alike personality wise...
While I would love for Hawke to romance Fenris,I think it might actually be better if Varric was the m/m option,going away from the gay-elf-stereotyp. Also,the Fenris being an ex-slave and his master not letting him be thing kinda made be think that Fenris treatment included rape (although those connection probably just sprung up from my sick,twisted mind...) which could lead to some negative implications...

But I wouldn'd mind any of the charas be the m/m option so I'm just gonna wait and see

One last thing, people guys saying it weirds them out when a gay character hits on them makes me laugh so hard. Not only because it's usually the same guys that think f/f  is the best thing ever. But also it's just really ridiculous,how pathetic do you have to be to feel threatend in your manliness by a bunch of pixels!?????
I have yet to meet a woman that thinks letting her female character flirt with a woman will turn her into a real-life lesbian or make people question her womanhood or whatever....

If your 'love' is the approval meter, that's a bug. Anders didn't fell in love with your female Warden. If you don't believe me then I suppose his 'love' approval in my male mage Warden must be proof enough that he is the S/S option.

David Gaider confirmed Herren being a Desire Demon isn't canon.

Yeah, I believe it was David Gaider who confirmed that Desire Demon-Herren was non-canonical.

Also, I want Varric to be the M/M option, because he is amazing. Actually, I will be happy with Varric as a romance option at all. He is the charming rogue, after all.

You have a point about the romances. I knew nothing about DA. I remember my utter joy when I realised that Leliana's 'relationship status' was set to a romantice option for my female Warden. I just was not expected S/S romance at all, so it came as quite a surprise. Of course I'm expectng it this time, so it wouldn;t have the same impact anyway.

that's silly. regardless of gender, everyone's opinion should be welcome so long as you're not one of these torch-weilding homophobes poking your nose into a forum thread marked M/M just to leave a stupid message like 'ewwww...'

I'd love to be surprised, but I don't want to be trapped between lava and an acid pit. AKA, i'm praying for more then one bi choice per gender. And no false leads like Alistair's 'lick a lampost' convo.

And thanks guys. It just really chapped my ass that in showing my support I was basically told to shut up because my liking Varric as an s/s option was insulting since it would detract from a "good" LI for gay/bi people (aka not Varric, aka a more conventionally attractive man). If it were up to me every option would be bi, and I know Varric's chances of being an LI are pretty much 0 but a girl can dream xD
