Will it be more partial and inconclusive demo files? Will it be a cryptic quote from a review? Or a snide grin from a dev? Maybe all three?

They are my favourite, I must admit.
@Russ -- no, we don't really do patience on this thread. It's just so damn close to game release day ...

It just hit me what a humungous mass of work it must have been for the writers writing TWO paths for romance for every romancable character, PLUS making them all bi as well (-- that's like four types of romance for every romancable character!). If that is the case...
No, I'm not going to begin doubting now.
And that's exactly why they're not all bi, too much effort to placate what in the eyes of EA's marketing department surely must be a tiny and generally irrelevant portion of gamers.

Read Gaider's comments on implementing all-bi characters (in the aufgestockt link in my sig). He says it would be eminently do-able.
(And the EA thing really has been taken to the extreme. Once BW has their budget, they work with it -- there isn't someone from EA sat there stroking a fluffy white cat while chuckling madly in the corner slapping them down at every hurdle. Case in point: The Sims.)

But then again, it wouldn't NEED to be very BIG changes to make a character adapted for both genders... And I don't think it's such a tiny portion of gamers at all (even if not all may be as loud-mouthed as we are)...
EDIT:

Yes, and there's that as well.

It being do-able is not the point, them getting the resources to do it is.
About the EA thing in the case of mass effect (both 1 and 2) someone in the concept and design phases of the product has clearly decided to try and implement m/m relationships in the game however before going gold it always seems to get dropped and removed despite much of the work having already been completed.
It seems to me like there's someone in Bioware/EA's management who clearly does not see the added value of in game m/m relationships.
This leads me to believe that if the Dragon Age series had been started with DA2 there wouldn't have been m/m relationships in the game at all.

And I don't think you can say BW don't recognise the value in m/m romances, since they are in so many BW games. Yes, we got severely burned with the ME franchise, and I'd hope you know by now how strongly I feel about that. But throwing around baseless accusations against the entire developer isn't very useful, nor does it move the debate forward.

Finis - They weren't part of EA when ME1 happened. It's someone in the BW chain of command, not EA. The EA thing is fallacious, and imo every time I see someone say 'omg EA hates us' I tend to disregard the whole argument from that point onwards. I'm not trying to be combative, but I see the ebil EA thing so much, when there is ZERO evidence for it, and in fact the simplest and most obvious reason for all of this is the reason Gaider and others have repeated time and time again ... resources are resources, unless a particular feature has someone who is willing to go above and beyond to champion its inclusion, it's likely not going to happen.

Plus EA joined the It Gets Better campaign. I very much doubt the amount of s/s romances rest squarely on their shoulders.

Anyway, the ME debate isn't one to have here. I'm always over in the Fight for the Love thread in the ME General board, come join us over there if you want to discuss it more. There ARE m/m options (whichever side of the fence you're on, there is at least 1) in DA2, so we should be talking about that and being happy, not gloomy because of the clusterf**k that is ME.
Agreed.
I will say that after just playing the demo again as a warrior (for the first time I might add) I'm looking forward to romancing Anders! A twist, I know!

I just watched the entire segment with Anders. It's glaringly obvious that he's waiting to get some male Hawke affection because he's just asking for it with his overwhelming vulnerability.
I hope Garrett has a different flirt line though. The one Marian used was awkward as hell.
The video's still available? Link please? Pleeaaaase?
Yup. Here you go.

The video is horrendously annoying, these people just don't shut up. I wanna hear the dialogues, dammit

(besides, I'm quite ok about we don't hear the dialogues, just to retain some element of surprise)

While I'm happy that we get a m/m romance in this game at all, if Anders is our only choice I'm seriously hoping an equal love mod for Seb gets made real soon. Otherwise it's either celibacy or Dairren like flings for my MHawkes.

You mean the one where Hawke begs Vengeance to give Anders back to him?
My heart wibbled. <3 <3 <3
I WANT THEM ALL TO BE BI! I WANT TO BELIEVE.

I dunno what it is about them that's got me so eager to do some, given that I myself am completely straight, but I think it's just the general good-will I've seen from everyone regarding this issue, and how positive everyone's being.
Given that I'm usually involved in Mass Effect things, it's a very very welcome change
