Is it just me, or was there some M/Mish goodness going on in that lovely Sebastian video? I want to believe! I would love it so much if Sebastian and Aveline were stealth options.

Actually, Mike's 'wait and see' comment about Aveline (it was Mike, wasn't it?) in that one interview made me think that there may yet be hope for a Hawke/Aveline romance... perhaps not as a part of the main game, but as an 'implied' ending depending on choices made over the 10 year time span?  Or maybe that's just wishful thinking. xD

As for Sebastian... do want.  I am such a sucker for redheads and Scottish accents.  Maybe that's my problem.

I've always wondered if the DA team has considered to experiment with making m/m and f/f only DLC characters...would be interesting if they did. Alas, tis just idle fantasy.

Making all romances DLC is a good idea.

Making the same-sex romances DLC while the heterosexual romances are not is some kinda [four-letter expletive]

I'll say what I've said before. If a romance is DLC, it would make most sense to be bisexual. That would increase the amount of people who would purchase the DLC, increasing profit.

It would not make sense to have an entirely heterosexual DLC, seeing as they are not going to shy away from homosexuality.

It *certainly* wouldn't make sense to have an entirely homosexual DLC, no matter how much we want it.

Speaking of ninjamances.... When I was playing my female human noble, Lucrezia, Leliana did the whole "You lied to me about your feelings" rant AFTER they had talked about how Alistair was in bed.

It made me mad because I was like "No! I specificly said that you were a FRIEND!!!"

Maybe but it had better be day one DLC in that case as the main benefit it would provide for us romance lovers on these forums is being able to shut up the fools who inevitably clamour with each new game that the resources spent on developing the romances could have been better spent elsewhere.

Bioware and EA however stand to profit more since they could arguably broaden their audience since without the romances and accompanying salient scenes and naughty remarks the rating for the base game would most likely be lower. In addition they would obviously make more money by selling the romance DLC's to the not insignificant portion of mature gamers who'd like to buy them.

For us as consumers there are however more drawbacks than benefits to this arrangement while the romance DLC might be great products they would most likely want to market them to as broad an audience as possible, which would make same sex content and especially m/m content that much more unlikely to show up in any of their future games. Secondly and most importantly I fear that in a future game where all of the possible romances are DLC only, all the other content that even refences the subject such as flirtatious dialogue with npcs other than the downloadable romance companions and perhaps even some things such a Oghrens crude jokes and the Hespith Bianca refences would all no longer be included in the base game thus limiting the developers options for character building in the base game and making it ultimately more shallow.  

Playing an RPG especially a Bioware one without the opportunity to engange in any romance would make the game feel somewhat hollow and empty for me. I don't usually play Bioware games for the stunning graphics and thrilling combat after all.
