@jenovan: That made me d'awww too. And his views on mages matches up to my Templars somewhat nicely. They'll be some sizzle but not enough to make my Templar want to slit his throat. Perfect.

I'm really confused about this now. There was a quote where Gaider specifically said the romances will be different for each LI depending on whether it's rivalry or friendship. Perhaps you still get a romance, but maybe just don't get to do the pokey-pokey down one particular path?

Well, I gotta say, if that's the case, everyone's going to find out which path leads to sexytimes, and only EVER romance on that path. Because please, we all want our sexytimes.

I just thought of that myself. Guess so long as we're rivals on big issues, but friends outside of them, I could still haz my hatemance? Its not like I wouldn't rub him gently all over and sooth his wounded heart once I got him away from the wall and onto the bed.

Now THERE'S a thought! Perhaps? It will definitely lead to lots and lots of metagaming then, not to mention the sucking up to characters in your party, which was what Bioware wanted to avoid with introducing the rivalry thing....

It's getting complicated........ I LOVE IT!! I thought romances in DAO were a tad too easy, I feel DA2 will be a big mess. Yummy!<3:D

he really is! xD The snarky wit, the pouting, the need for emotional cuddling, the longing for a true commitment.... unfortunately, that will make me hate him for stealing Alistair's groove.

(yes...now that I'm in a romance with Alistair, its a little...sugary at times. xD still adore him. and hate clones. <_<)

but the more I watch of Anders in Awakening (and soon to play. almost beat DAO! *again* xD), the more he screams...I'm alistair as a mage with a cat obsession! <_< Its not the committed relationship and wanting love part that makes him an Alistair Clone.

Perhaps. I guess it remains to be seen how similar they are (although I thought them something of clones already in Awakening - and that had nothing to do with the romance then)
