What I mean about combining the two is that, in DA:O you had better 'templates' for faces and better face options in general but in ME, the actual rendering of those options into the game was better and more realistic. They do need to go Fallout style for eye colour if they refuse to improve the lighting though.

haha...that reminds me of how many times i redid my Dalish elf cause i wanted him to have green eyes. Finally, i was able to pinpoint the exact spot to have the slider on for green eyes. but man that was annoying to get right. xD

I went and turned the gamma correction up just to tell.

I chose the really huge open eyes and upped my tv's lighting. I didn't think to mess with the gamma...but then i always have a hard time getting it back to the right lvl. xD

I'm lucky, I wanted blue or grey eyes, oh center of the slider? FANTASTIC!

Now stare into their steely depths and be enamored... Dairren, Tamlen, Soris, Cullen... and... for the dwarf origins... I didn't want to charm anyone. I really don't find dwarves attractive, at all, period.

We should probably.... talk about man-lovin'.... or this thread will get closed... (again)....

As a conversation starter, I was noticing how very, very attracted to women Anders seemed to be in Awakening. If he shows up as a bisexual male in DA2, do you think his sexual preference will be discussed at all? Will he still very much be into women (like Zevran) but not opposed to certain men?

I'd like to see an Anders who is otherwise straight, until manHawke enters the scene. There's a dialogue option for the Warden in DA:O--when Leliana says, "I didn't know you were attracted to other men," the Warden can reply, "To be honest, neither did I until I met Zevran." I want Anders to be that way about manHawke!

@Katie - My only problem with that is nothing like that has really been the case IRL, in my experience. Therefore for me it would read kind of like a turn-straight-gay sort of fantasy...and would be kind of immersion breaking.

If it's Anders, I'd rather see them play up those potentially flirty banter lines he had with Nathaniel.

If that happened, I'd almost have to try Anders' romance. It'd be very interesting considering how he talked about girls in Awakening. I'd prefer this to if they just said that Anders was always bi, just didn't talk about it. <_< But if they made the choice for this to be Anders, and to make him bi, I'm sure they'll put thought and attention into the process.

I don't see Anders in a 'It's okay if it's you' situation, IMO.

@Dhiro: Yeah, he seems, thus far, to be too ...carefree? Not quite right. Self-serving isn't either. But he definitely puts himself first I would say, valuing freedom above loyalty.

How someone like that would gain the sort of bond necessary for that type of relationship...well, it just doesn't seem likely.

so possibly, there will only be one bi interest already in the game at launch...and then a second bi interest available in the form of dlc? just a guess.

I dunno, I think Varric/male Hawke is plenty hot (courtesy of Aimo <3). Then again, I've been told that because I am not a gay guy I shouldn't have an opinion on this matter, so maybe I'll shut up.

I could totally see the ME team saying "Fine, you want your gay option? Give us seven bucks."

I WOULD PAY SEVEN EXTRA BUCKS TO BE GAY IN SPACE. I DON'T EVEN CARE. If my manShep could find ONE more gay man in the entire galaxy, I would be satisfied with the series.
(He'll still pine for Kaidan, though. Because who DOESN'T pine for Kaidan?)

Not to get off topic but I'd pay twice that if it was Big Ben being offered

Big who?

I think he means the male soldier in the ME3 trailer. I'd want him too

In an effort to keep this thread on-topic, we shall review the possibilities for potential Garrett Hawke's hot man.

1) Varric, a fine piece fo dwarven craft, a charming and humourous rogue, whose status as the narrator could either make him unsuitable or the only obvious choice depending on how its handled.

2) Fenris, an beautiful and stoic elven warrior, with an aversion to being touched, whose cold exterior may hide a burnign passion.

3) "Anders", who is a human mage we either know nothing about, or that he is a flirtatious, freedom-loving man with a love of kittens.

That's actually a pretty good spread of character types.

I think it's safe to say that Fenris is the M/M LI.

Also because Gaider himself penned the character.

Indeed I do. Course we don't even know if he'll be in the game at all so it's just a completely pointless happy thought.

Completely random idea that can totally be considered on-topic because it can apply to Sebastian:
While we've never had a DLC LI, it would be possible right? Theoretically at least. Romances require more dialogue and cut-scenes than regular companions but Shale had a pretty good number of conversation scenes.
Have any of the devs ever stated outright that a DLC character will never be romancable? Or is that just something we've assumed due to precident...

I believe its an assumption due to precedent. Completely adding a romancible character (which require several key alterations in dialogue paths) would be a lot fo work. Also, a lot of Shale's files were included with the game as unfinished content, so its not as if the files that installed as The Stone Prisoner had them all. It likely contained the quest area/dialogue and Shale's camp conversations, with the area-specific dialogue being included in the main game files already.

I think the main argument against DLC romancable characters is the resource-intensity for an aspect which many players will not bother with. Though this is also why I reckon if there every was one they would nearly-always be a bisexual LI, since that a maximises the content's audience.

I think it's something people assume to due precedent.  There's a first time for everything, after all (and, I'll admit, I'm kinda hoping he's romancable, myselfPosted Image).

normally you could say they wouldn't go that far for just a dlc. that and romance wise, dlc would have to have some effect on the main story.

BUT...they've already announced Sebastien's dlc before the game is even out and it will probably be available the moment the game is out. THUS, it could be possible that just this once...this dlc will be a +romancable. (but really...offering dlc character before the game is even out...he might as well already be in the game and save us the money. -_-)

I don't think Varric being the narrator ruins the possibility though. You, as Hawke, already make choices that'll change the world. Most likely Varric will recall said choices and affects when he's interrogated by Cassandra. After all it IS a Bioware game. So why can't this be applicable if you romance him or not?

I aint going to pay for action. Thats what the Pearl was for in DA:lol:
I don't see the logic in DLC romances. If you can't affored it, you're outta luck. Thats a little unfair no?

^ I agree. I'd only get that desperate in ME, after being single for 2 games straight. xD
