I like how you read my mind.
Perhaps. I guess it remains to be seen how similar they are (although I thought them something of clones already in Awakening - and that had nothing to do with the romance then)
Ryzaki and others - *points up* This. Neezroy and I seem to share like minds. xD
Zevran and Fenris have very different personalities. But Anders and Alistair share a lot in common in personality. >< (so it seems to me, at least) I'll see how it goes in game. But the chances he'll annoy me have increased.
cya later, guys. I have work.

Yeah, that's what I find so odd about it all. I thought the f/r thing meant there was more choice, richer relationships, romances that still happened but just had a different flavour to them depending on f/r ... but now it seems that if you are pursuing a romantic relationship with someone, you've got to micro-manage your responses and choose decisions in a particular way to get the outcome of the romance you want. Which means you end up with the approval system problems from DAO.
I am confuse.

Seriously, haters gonna hate. Then again, I pretty much romanced Alistair every. single. time. Except that one time with Zevran, and I never finished Morrigan or Leliana characters.

How? It just means you don't get to call someone names. You can disagree with someone without being rude.
That's true. I'm sure there were be various diplomatic ways to disagree in order to open up the Rivalry path. There's no reason for it to only open if you're like "You're just a big..stupid...meanie!" ...Though if there was an option exactly like it, I might overuse it. ._.

It does make me feel a little stressed. I hope it will all sort itself out once we get the game. Hopefully it will all seem logical (and not so confusing/stupid) then or it will be guides and walkthroughs FTW.

Nothing particular to s/s or specific characters, except a note that Isabella (????) and Sebastian are atypical. There are also some very general hints as to how a relationship may progress over time. Here's the basic breakdown:
If you wish to initiate a romance with a companion, follow these simple guidelines:
- Flirt with the object of your affections whenever possible. However, note that the presence of a Flirt option isn’t always a true indication that a romance is possible.
- In Act 2, try to ensure that your visits to Hawke’s abode occur at night. If your desired squeeze is present on arrival, use the Flirt option to initiate the next stage. When the option arises in conversation, enquire about living together.
- After the romance begins, do not make come-hither eyes at other companions or NPCs: this will not end well. Nor, for that matter, will any degree of ambivalence or outright rejection.
- For the rest of the story, develop the relationship gauge to maximum friendship or rivalry, complete all companion quests, including any ambient situational conversations that may occur, deliver the necessary gifts, then share a moment with Hawke’s loved one in the calm before the storm during Dragon Age II’s epic conclusion --you’ll know it when you get there.
- For Isabela and Sebastian, the above technique only partially applies.

I wouldn't suggest you to download the file then, spoilers aplenty! And yes, even something relevant...they give you an insight on how to romance certain characters specifically too.

I guess that is because neither of them wants a relationship in the usual sense (Seb being chaste and Isabela being...not so chaste).

See our discussion on the previous pages. It might just refer to the possibility to flirt with non-romancable npc's like Varric and Aveline...

I've been lurking, but I feel the need to say that ALL IS NOT LOST on the hatemance front. It's possible that you still get your Fenris smexy tiems in a hatemance but that it's a "fling" rather than being a lasting relationship. That's how I read "future entanglement of limbs" anyway
