At this point I'm thinking if unnamed male mage turns out to be Anders, then Fenris will be the bi LI, if not then unnamed male mage probably will be. Doesn't stop me hoping for Varric though.

I honestly don't believe that Anders, if he is the mage, would be romanceable by men. I just don't see it happening. I'm sure Bioware could find any number of ways to prove me wrong though. xD

I still want Fenris as one of the LI. ^^' Are we sure the last character is a mage, though? A mage is cool, I guess, but a guy in robe is just as bad as a pretty boy elf, ain't it? xD ah well..now I'll be yelled at for suggesting that.

It's not bestiality, it's xenophilia. Garrus and Tali are not animals, they're sentient beings who happen to not be human. They're not 'compatible' in the sense that they can't procreate, but that's true of same-sex relationships too. Let's not put down the Garrus and Tali relationships in order to defend same sex relationships, please.

I would like a mage, but then mage is my favorite class. And I like the "academic" sort in general.

Thing is, I can't think of a personality to append to a warrior that would be better than Alistair's for a M/M love interest. But, I'm not as creative as the writing team, I suppose.

I think one of the glories of the relationships in DA is that even though we sometimes trivialize them based on quick progression through dialogue or a 'shallow' character, they're certainly engaging enough for several writers, myself included, to want to expand upon them in fiction. Not always sexually. I think one of the most rewarding romantic plots in a Bioware game has to be romancing Sky as a man in Jade Empire. I would love to see a relationship that progresses as realistically and beautifully as that one.

ah, sky. I beat that game never knowing he was romancable as a guy. When i did realize this (a whole year later) I stalked every chance in that game until I figured out how to get him. Now that was victory. (and he was a total sweetheart) Was rather disappointed by the cop-out kiss, though. >.>

I love Garrus and Tali, and I'd romance them if I didn't like Liara so much. But if you can romance someone outside your species, why not of the same species and sex?

i'm interested to. =P I need to get ahold of and play DAO on pc, if i'm going to have a file to convert over to DA2 (which I still think i'll aim to get on the pc, for modding sake)

I get what you're saying, but 'bestiality' is an incorrect and ugly term and belittles the romance, IMO. The description of the word is 'sex with an animal', not 'sex with a non-human', and conjures up unpleasant imagery.

Also, while Tali's romance is much more dangerous for her because of her immune system, Mordin pointed out that being with a turian -can- cause an allergic reaction, but won't necessarily. But I digress.

I understand your frustration and I'm not disagreeing with your point about the M/M option for Shepard, it just felt to me that in using that particular unflattering word that you were putting down Garrus and Tali romancers while making your point, which seems to distract from the primary issue.
