No now NONE of them will be immersive because in order for them to be gender neutral they have to focus on...  the romance character.  Not on Hawke at all, not the relationship between Hawke and the character, just the character.  Like Leliana from DAO.  I felt like I was listening to her whole life story just so I could romance her.


you sure make alot of assumptions there...

Did it ever occur to you that your dissatisfaction with leliana's romance had absolutely nothing to do with her being "gender neutral" and everything to do with how she was written to be?

Is the possibility that each LI being bi AND having a fantastic romance experience completely at odds with each other? Really?

I'm sorry but gender neutrality means nothing. Using a mod I was able to romance alistair with my male warden... and barring some gender specific comments that in many cases could have said "He" instead of "She" it would have felt perfectly normal to me still, I had a perfectly immersive romance with him.

And has it occurred to you that maybe... just maybe... if bioware was concerned about "gender neutrality" that they might have different types of flirting and some different dialogue depending on your gender? And if they did would that necessarily mean the romances would suck?

No I am sorry but gender neutrality has very little to do with how immersive and how enjoyable a romance will be (at least for me) and it has EVERYTHING to do with the personality portrayed and the story being told (a nice smile and good sense of humour don't hurt either ^_^)

I'm not entirely sure myself. I personally don't subscribe to that theory as I was/am a HUGE fan of Zevran and thought Bioware did a fantastic job with him either way. So I'm giving Bioware a bit of faith on this one ;)

I don't know what definition of "common sense" YOU use, but it's common sense to me that I'm always right :whistle:

Really, though, I wouldn't have been so certain if I didn't think the evidence before me was suggestive enough

*does happy dance* I am ha[[y that everyone is bi. As a bisexual man my self it's welcoming to have such a diverse selection of romance people in a Bioware game. Been hoping Anders was bi for awhile :)

Interesting. So all LI are BI. Doesn't really bother me actually. I know that's not going to keep me away from romancing Anders or Fenris. The one thing I don't want is if they start flirting with other men. Then it'll be awkward for me.

And it's the Tranquil really Anders' ex-lover? C'mon Anders.....you could have done better!
