I think Alistair also switches to love if you achieve 100% approval. That bug was common in DA:O and A.
Since Anders dis not strike me as interested in men in DA:A. He can express interest in women and a female warden flirting with him raises his approval. So the m/m option will either be Varric or Fenris.
From those two, I would prefer Fenris, because even though he is an elf (again) his personality does sound very different from Zevran´s while Varric does seem to be another easygoing rouge like Zevran was.

I'm not convinced, Anders always seemed the most likely candidate for an M/M romance to me. Probably wasn't intentional, but until the pretty girl line, I actually thought he was supposed to be gay.

-edit- Having now watched the video on the GI Anders article I will hereby retract all negetive comments about Varric. He looks MUCH better now than he did in that very old beta screenshot I was still pictuing in my head.

-Edit 2: Edit of Doom!- and now, having read the GreyWardens.com article I have hope for Anders! If they're correct then we may very well have to throw everything we know about Anders out the window.  Yay!

My money is on Anders. He always struck me as an open-minded individual, and personally, I go for the "goofy" types, so I'd prefer Anders to "stoic" Fenris.

In light of the Anders reveal I'm keeping my vote on Fenris as the best (by my standards) M/M Companion option (maybe there are non-companion romances?). That said, I'd rather have Varric over Anders even though I wouldn't pursue it because I honestly believe Anders is straight, open-minded, yes. Bothered by gay people? probably not. Gay or bi himself? I doubt it.

It's likely either that or "I really prefer girls but you'll do" like Zevran.

It does seem like it would be too similar to Zevran if he hasn't changed much from Awakening. People may talk about how much they hate having another elf as the M/M LI but I believe having another rather effeminate LI (compared to Fenris + Alistair) is much worse. Not that I have anything against it, I'd just prefer something new and different.

Edit: Also thought I should mention that there will be a Q&A after the live playthrough this Friday. Perfect time to ask who's going to give us some lovin' in DA2!

That's a fair assessment.

On an unrelated note, I just realized how excited I am for gay manHawke's... voice. I remember that my gay manWarden had a lot of really romantic exchanges with Zevran. Specific man-to-man exchanges, like:

Zevran: I've been with both men and women. That doesn't make you uncomfortable, does it?
M!Warden: You make me many things. Never uncomfortable.

To actually hear manHawke have these romantic exchanges with his gay lover is something to get excited about, no matter who the bisexual male turns out to be...

I might not be entirely opposed to this... That Varric/manHawke picture by Aimo is my current desktop wallpaper.

That said, Fenris and Anders both look so promising... I'm going to be disappointed if we don't get to romance them, "obvious" as they may be!

lol!  You see, I'm totally at war with myself right now.  I don't know who I want MORE, which is why I've pretty much thrown my hands up into the air and gone, "really, why can't we just have them ALL?" by this point.  Seems like it would do more good than harm, in all honesty.  At least that way, no one would feel left out.  People would complain about having to 'share', but they complain about that already.

It's definitely the height and squatness of dwarves which puts me off, that and so many before them have had faces that looked like they'd hit with a frying pan or hit with a compression ray.



I wouldn't want them all, if it's anything like DA:O I'll have unwanted wannabe lovers hanging off me at every turn. When Leliana tried to ninja her way in between me and Zevran one time I nearly kicked her from the group then and there. Or when out of nowhere the game tells me I can kiss Morrigan are she's going all sweet (well as sweet as she gets) on me, and all I did was act a little pragmatic here and there, give her some junk, "kill" Flemeth and learn about her past.

I'm a dwarf-lover through and through and I wouldn't touch Oghren with a ten foot pole. Gorim on the other hand...well lets just say that I was let down when my male Dwarf Noble Warden couldn't have the same dialogue with him as his female counterpart. There's something incredibly heart-wrenching about "brothers-in-arms" romance.

SWAG! Man know I'm thinking of him as more of a dwarven mobster than ever. All he needs now is a fedora, dark, sharp suit and a cigar hanging out of the corner his mouth....
