Well it happened in ME2, and besides it'd be odd to have more male LIs than female LIs.

People poked around in the files and found about Kasumi long before she was even announced. She already had stuff there to make her work. You can see stuff for Seb in demo files even though he's DLC.

One of the devs said Shale was able to be DLC because they had already had started to make her as a party member but had to cut her. The DLC put her back. However to make a character that wasn't set up to be a party member would be really hard and wouldn't happen.

They didn't confirm (of course they won't), but there are no words necessary to solidify proof that both male LIs are bisexual. You just have to choose who to romance first.

ME2....

The mass effect team us totally different from the DA team.

But then again who knows what the DA is thinking up. After the whole "All bi" thing, I'm certain that the DA team is very unpredictable.

To be fair, the only reason we "knew" that Isabela was the female one (before we found out they all were) was because she was bi in the first game, and it wouldn't have made sense to change it in the second. That being said, it bugs me that they wouldn't just go ahead and confirm the LIs as being bi, considering that a) everyone knew Isabela and it wasn't fair not to reveal at least one male one and I don't see how it would be spoilery at all to reveal that you can romance everyone no matter your gender, especially considering they did confirm that Anders, Fenris, Merrill and Isabela are LIs anyway.

I might create a male Hawke who flirts with anything that moves just to hide the fact he is totally in love with Seb and gutted he can't have him. Of course that includes many trips to visit the 'pay to play' boys too.

I don't much about it, but I think it would definitely be easier to mod Sebastian so he's available for guys than it would be to make him romanceable if he wasn't available to anyone at least - the animations are there, you just switch the gender flags, right? But it might depend heavily on how pivotal any kind of romance is to Sebatian's plot arc - for instance, he's a prince who might possibly need an heir, and he might have a lot of dialogue related specifically to pointing out that he needs to have children, etc. That might make it really awkward for a guy trying to romance him. And then you'll have the thing where lines might appear on the screen but neither will move cause that stuff isn't voiced. It will probably be easier to judge that after we've all played with him and know what he says/does in romance situations. Maybe someone else can answer this better, though.

Meh... I knew, it the only attractive male Li had to be straight and chaste. Still, given who the other options are I'm a bit sad I won't get to sweep the fairytale prince of his feet, it seems Bioware can have gay Li's but not gay princes.
still I'm happy for those if you who like the other two and I do hope the same sex romances will be just as meaningful in the context of the story as the straight ones.
Guess that settles it for me, my first two playthroughs will center around femHawke and Isabela.

Especially when judging from the Zevran screenie a while back it seems it is in fact possible for them to design elves who don't look like JRPG teenagers which in turn that gives me some flicker of hope that if the right mods get released I might still be able to salvage Fenris and Merill as viable romance options.

Otherwise I guess it will have to be either team celibacy or team visits the pearl 2.0 a lot (if there even is a visitable pearl 2.0 in Kirkwall with m/m courtesans) for Mhawke.

Not sure about modding Sebastian. It could get awkward with him having the same responses to flirt lines on subtitles, but won't actually talk.

And it seems to me that Fenris doesn't move in with Garrett. Anders most likely does.
