I am romancing Fenris as a dude. It's possible. I swear to God, you can get your mack in the tackiest way imaginable pretty as soon as you meet him ("My old master wants to rip these lyrium tattoos from my body..." "Kind of a waste of such a fine piece of ass, if you ask me." "*blush* Oh, Hawke..."). I will say that I'm a bit disappointed he doesn't acknowledge the, uh, novelty of guys liking guys like Zevran did and Anders does, or at least he hasn't yet, but hey, you can't always get what you want.

I don't want them to make a "fuss" about being in a s/s relationship. I want there to be some kind of acknowledgment that- hey, it makes sense that we're hitting on each other, right? Because this is kind of uncommon? And being attracted to members of the same gender IS uncommon in Thedas, if not in your party. Anders is all, "wow, most men aren't so open..."  As it is, Fenris' relationship with ManHawke (which I'm liking, don't get me wrong!) definitely feels like something that's kept kind of vague so his sexuality could be subjective. Honestly, it feels more contrived than "by the way? All of us are bisexual." Especially considering that Sebastian isn't. You could make the argument that Hawke and Fenris are just too cool for school  and naturally coy people, and that's valid, but, man, **** coyness. You guys, I am not a fan of coyness.

I mean, I'll reserve judgment, but I doubt things are going to change. Obviously, it's nice that Fenris has no internal conflict about doing guys, of course.

I'm happy they uploaded that one. It's a tender, poignant scene between Anders and Garrett about the whole, "Are you sure about being with an apostate? What if they see us together?" situation. Not to mention, they apparently can move in together.

Perhaps the way s/s relationships are seen in Tevinter is different from Ferelden or Antiva? The way Zev approaches the m/m romance kinda makes me think that he perceives Ferelden to be more close-minded in that regard or that it is not so usual or openly talked about (and this is why he asks the Warden if he is offended) and that in Antiva s/s relationships are more common and not just with the Crows. After all, Antivan culture and traditions must be heavily influenced by the Crows.

So maybe s/s relationships are more common in Tevinter compared to Ferelden and that's why Fenris doesn't make a big deal out of it?

Yeah, actually I quite like that there is that difference between Fen and Anders. It adds variety to their romances. And I'm another of those elusive 3 who has no problem with the idea of subjective sexuality ... it's a game, I can cope with that.
