And a bit more acknowledgement of your LI would have been nice.

I don't understand why things can't just have more sex in them. I guess there's this opinion that it undermines the creative vision and makes it plebian or something D:
DARLING. It's been so long, my beloved. Well, at least we won't have to fight over love interests... you can have Anders, I'll take Fenris. But yes, this is even worse for Fenris who isn't even living at your house! To me, there's no real bridge between "let's get back together" and "nothing will keep me from you!"catabuca wrote...
A bit of bare chest wouldn't have gone amiss, ngl. I'd forgo a bit of flesh for a couple of extra scenes of ANYTHING goddamit with my LI though. If it hadn't been for Anders hanging out on Hawke's balcony in act 3 he might have forgotten they were supposed to be in a long term relationship.

It was in response to the OP's question, what would you like to see? On that I commented that the bi-option is probably the best since it doesn't require a lot of extra work for a small part of the population. That energy is better reserved for improving the game. Speaking for myself I would rather have had more unique locations than 4 (gay)romances. As for your last statement, with out proof there is absolutely no reason to assume that the % of gay/bi gamers is higher than in the overall population.
So... I'm confused.
You want them to be bi but not romancable by the same sex?
Because what we got is 4 bi options. But then you say you'd rather they not be gay? I don't understand.
I'm saying it is fine as it is and they should not put more effort into it by for instance design gay only romances.

Did you seen this one?
Fenris fit in perfectly.

Ooooh, wow... *fans self*
Had that been in the game I wouldn't have finished it yet, I would have still just been watching that scene on repeat.

I just assumed they played out like that because Varric was narrating the story and I can't imagine Cassandra giving him the time to elborate on the finer points of Hawke getting laid.
And the LI's reluctance to elaborate for him in banter (well, Fenris and Anders at least) to which he replies along the lines of 'Fine I'll just make it up'
That said, I freely admit I did expect more, despite how adorable I found Anders' scenes. The romances did seem a little... back seat this time. Which is a little disappointing.

Send me a message, first come first served. And thanks for lobbying BW to put s/s in the game.

I love this <3 I agree, for me it really matches up well with Fenris's other love scenes where he's aggressive, too. (Sidenote: I've now done something to where every time I romance Fenris, I feel like it works best if I'm a guy and usually a mage, too. Don't know how that happened, as I've romanced Anders with both genders at least once!)

Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but... I have some free codes for Sebastian and the Black Emporium. And I'd rather send them to a s/s supporter!

All codes have now gone to a good home! If you used them, let me know if they worked!
I just scored a free Signature Edition and Dead Space 2 armour, so I wanted to 'pay it forward' and give someone else some good luck!

Yeah, I felt the same. Of course, a little flesh is always welcome, but for me it was disappointing because of the lack of interaction. Hawke's relationships with his companions is such a key and crucial part of the game this time around that it felt quite odd to have the few very brief moments where you can interact with them in dialogue so far apart, and there being so few of those moments. This is especially noticable when you're in a supposed relationship with an LI.
The dialogue scenes and cutscenes that are there are done well to an extent. I am glad the relationships are paced more evenly now, so you can't rush through it all in the first act, and it makes sense as a growth over the course of 10 years. However, considering it is 10 whole years, what interaction there is seems so sparse, and those scenes are so very brief when they do eventually come.
Considering your choice of LI can be so important to the whole game, I can't help feel the game fails to adequately create a sense of you being in a real, caring, long-term realtionship with them. There is so much tragedy in this game, that a few moments where you could just enjoy being with your LI would have been most welcome, and perhaps made the potential endings (and of course, I'm probably primarily thinking about Anders here -- but the same could apply to them all) more poignant since it would have felt there was even more to lose.
I know I would have greatly appreciated just a couple of extra scenes per act, maybe where Hawke could approach his (potential) LI at will, and initiate a conversation similarly to how it worked in Origins in camp. These could have worked alongside the scripted scenes that are already there, opening up once you've reached certain relationship milestones. The option to sit in your estate and chat with them, the option to share a kiss once the relationship is in full swing, perhaps during act 3 to be able to drag them into the bedroom. They needn't have been long, elaborate scenes, but just the presence of a handful of shorter moments where you could at least interact in a way that made it believable you were actually IN A FREAKING LONG TERM RELATIONSHIP would have gone a hell of a long way to improve how the relationships come across in the game.
As it is, the player currently has very little control over the way relationships develop. You can choose to not have one, of course, or you can choose a rivalmance or friendmance, but that's not really what I mean. The scripted nature of the game being told by Varric means romance dialogue and scenes happen at set times in the game, and that's fine. However, it does take some of the control we had in Origins away from us, and I can't help but feel there could have been a happy medium somewhere. A mixture of the scripted story moments AND some extra moments you as the player could choose to initiate if you felt like it, more or less at times when you wanted to (within the confines of the story arc, of course).
I really hope this is something they look at for DA3. I know there have been lots of criticisms about many areas of the game, and LIs/companions may be one of the areas they feel they got right (and they'll be looking at combat, narrative, rpg elements etc for DA3), but I honestly don't think there would be much work to do to improve on what we already have, just by that addition of a couple of extra player-initiated elements.
(I should find one of those 'your review' threads that the devs read and post this
