I totally blame Ryzaki, but I see a Ménage à trois going something like this:

Vengeance: Assuming Direct Control
Anders: But the--
Vengeance: Human, I will show you true power.
Anders: Priize. The priize.
Vengeance: You feel this--
Anders: Heavy risk...
Vengeance: You feel this don't you?
Anders: But the priize.
Vengeance: Bend to me!!
Anders: THE PRIIZE.

RYZAKI WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME???

Hey now! Your perverted mind is not my fault!  :P

Lulz. <3

Though you forgot the "bend to me!" and "your form is fragile." <3

I never knew about the glory that is Jacob and Harbinger until you showed me! <3

Argh. I totally did forget those. It needs to be fixed...

If it's Anders, I'm probably just going to roll straight up Lady!Hawke's and romance Isabela on every play through.

I've given up on guessing who the m/m LI is going to be.  I see cases against both (not strong cases, perse, but cases nonetheless.)

I liked the Zevran romance in DA:O, but from what I've read on the forums, he's not a well-liked character.  Plus, there are some people who just plain do not want another elf.  While I personally don't feel this way, I CAN see it as incentive for the developers not to pin another elf as bi LI.

As for Anders, people argue that he's pretty well established as straight, and was only ever flirty with female Wardens.  Zevran, on the other hand, preferred women, but openly flirted with both genders.  So people think it would go against the grain for Anders to be 'suddenly' bi.

Regardless, I'm now putting my hopes on Fenris. xD  And I admit, I will be disappointed if it's Anders.

I kind of hate myself for the sudden 180.  Fenris and Anders were tied in my mind until I read Anders' short story.

  I have a feeling Izzy's gonna be popular. She's practically a female Han Solo.

And yeah I'm pretty tired of flip flopping too. If its Anders though. I'd be happy that there is one...though the fact that he's a human flesh eating abomination is . Not touching that. Hellz no. Not even with my evil characters. Though the whole anti elf thing makes me sad. :(

I could see why they feel that way though (I do myself though I admit that's just because I don't want him as the m/m which is selfish) he could be very well written and believeable as the m/m option.

I"m with ya there. XD

They weren't really tied in mine though. Fenris was in the lead until I thought he was a douche then Anders won...but I read that story and my wanting of Anders plummetted.

Yes their glory is...*insert Cailan voice* glorious. *end Cailan voice*

Indeed. Those are my favorite lines. "Bend to me..." Harby knows what he wants from Shep. ^_^

We know that Fenris can be skipped, but can Anders be skipped as well?

I'd say Team Fenris but all my choices get shut down so.... I guess I won't make a gay Hawke either. Sorry Anders, but as fascinating as I find your character development I don't really want a piece of that. He'll be celibate then, because Izzy is reserved for one of my Lady Hawkes <3 So I guess my Hawkes will be unattached *shrug*

I don't think so. :crying: You need his map (that he stole from the Wardens. I can't wait for my Warden to kick his ass for that. <_<)  for something I forgot what.

That's good news actually. There's a theory that, like DA:O, the bisexual characters can be skipped because it might offend someone's delicate sensibilities. Izzie's skippable, and I'm pretty sure Merrill isn't...

Pure speculation, of course. Still...

Ah true. That does tip the scales slightly in Fenris' favor. That was one of the reasons I originally thought he was the bi LI. I really hope he is...

lol, I personally love Izzy because I have a thang for tanned, dark haired, swashbuckling pirates with sas. ;D  Also, that Han Solo comparison.

And yeah, the ONE reason the elf thing makes me sad is because I don't want to be deprived a potentially good romance simply because some people can't look passed the ears.  As I've said before, I don't care if the LI is human, elf or dwarf.  So long as the character's story and personality are compelling, I'm all in.

Though, it helps if they don't have a flesh eating demon inside them.  Apparently that's where I draw the line.

Originally, this was my preference list:

1. Sebastian
2. Tie beween Fenris and Anders
3. Varric

It now looks more like this:

1. Fenris
2. Sebastian (I can't quite squash that tiny shred of hope inside of me. xD)
3. Varric
4. Anders

So much has changed from 2 weeks ago...

It really sucks not knowing. One aspect of my Male Hawke's personality is totally dependent on who the m/m LI is. I want to know if I should go back to the drawing board or not.

Yes Izzy has it going on.

My list ironically looked more like this: (For my male Hawke)

1. Fenris
2. Anders
3. Sebastian
4. Varric
5. Merill
6. Isabela

Now it's more like:

1. Isabela
2. Fenris (who is slightly behind her)
3. Sebastian
4. Varric
5. Merill
6. Random NPCs
7. Anders

And yes I am serious about number 6.

And oh god the bolded soooo much.

And QFT at the underlined bit.

Big changes indeed.

Aww. *hugs*

Though I can't make my PCs around an LI because that always results in me picking apart that LIs flaws and ending up disliking them. It happened when I tried to make a male PC for Morrigan. <_<

Aww, Ryzaki's hugs are the best.

I usually don't make a PC around an LI. I certainly didn't with Origins, and when I began building my Hawke in my mind he was completely independent of any LIs. Then pics and a few hints of Fenris surfaced and it was like BAM. Now I'm so in love with that part of him and it's so different from any of the other male characters I usually play.

It's going to be difficult if I have to say goodbye to that part of him. :crying:

Definitely agree, especially since Isabela was pretty much a given from the get-go.

Someone in the romance confirmation thread suggested that the developers may be holding back who the m/m romance is so that players will give them a chance (instead of labeling them as 'the gay one' and killing them right off the bat.)

Bi male characters just aren't as well received as female, unfortunately. :(

Regardless if people feel that strongly about m/m romance OPTIONS being 'wrong', it's not going to matter WHEN they reveal who the m/m LI is.

The very least they could do is tell us fans who aren't going to throw our controllers down in a rage what's available to us so that we can get over our disappointments now.  That way we'll be in a saner state of mind when we actually get the game.

Ah I see. I usually play the good guy archetype (or the kind of guy *I* would find attractive which is usually mild mannered but not willing to be kicked around by anyone yet at the same time if you really needed help and werent' too proud to ask for it he'd give you a hand. The heroic handsome good guy. I can't help it I like good guys. Bad boys...well growing up and seeing people get abused by "bad boys" tends to leave a bad taste in your mouth.) So I'll probably play my normal guys and if the LI doesn't like it they can screw themselves. ^_^

Though...I feel your pain...hopefully the m/m option will be leaked as more reviews come in. Which should be in about 2 weeks considering the first one was a week or so ago and they usually hit about 2 weeks or less before the game hits stores.

I don't like it, but it makes sense. This is probably wishful thinking, but that strengthens Fenris's chances as being the bi option in my mind.

I'm going to out this crazy idea out there - has Bioware confirmed that there is only *one* s/s LI?

The impression I've gotten is that there are a lot of LI's in the game, ssome for s/s, some not. For all we know, BW might be breaking from tradition and have more options for everyone.

I'm definitely with team Fenris as m/m romance. I don't care that he's another elf, I think he has the most interesting story and looks attractive.

But I'd be keen to see two options for m/m romance for a change. Ideally I'd see it being one straight, one bi and one gay option for each gender. That means everyone gets two potential partners to romance. I know this probably isn't the case, but it had been confirmed that there are multiple options both in and out of the main party.

Definitely looking forward to finding out. If I am right, I kind of hope we don't get told and just get pleasantly surprised when we play the game. :)

I've played a few bad boy characters, but when I say bad boy I mean more of the snarky and don't f*** with me kind and not the, "I'm gonna hurt you for the lulz" kind. They're also always fiercely protective of those they care about.

This Hawke, though... He's so ridiculously far away from being a bad boy. That aspect of him will remain whether Fenris is a bi LI or not, but the other part... *sigh*

I don't remember where, but I'm fairly certain one of the developers confirmed that the romances in DA:2 were going to be like Origins.  Meaning 2 straight LI (m/f and f/m), and 2 bi (f/f and m/m.) :)

I may be wrong but I think the basic quote/post you are refering to was a dev stating that they hadn't taking, and I'm probably paraphrasing here,  "any steps backwards on romances"

I don't think all bi LI's are likely but it's not out of the realm of possibility.    Don't get your hopes up unless you can take disappointment well.  I know I'm getting Isabela so I'm letting my hope run a little wild:wizard:

Ah, okay. Then I've played many neutral characters. :D

I mentioned this in the Fenris thread, but usually my male characters are quite, um, loose when it comes to romance. They don't sleep with everyone and everything, but they do like to flirt around and so on. With Hawke I totally scratched that - he's never been in love and he's definitely not cocky and sure of himself when it comes to flirting with anyone. He's not the virginal boy next door like Alistair was, but he is somewhat naïve when it comes to matters of the heart. Then, of course, he meets Fenris and falls hard. The quote from the Fenris thread, "OMG. Speak more words you beautiful creature" comes to mind. But, Fenris's history and Hawke being a mage throws a spanner into the wheel. He'll very much be of the, "I want you so badly but I probably shouldn't" mentality. Anyway, there's more to it, but I won't bore you with too many details. I don't see that part of him working so well with Anders. And, no offense to any Anders fans, but my Hawke just won't be able to fall so hard and fast with him.

And do we share a brain or something? That's totally my Hawke! <3

EDIT: Just realized I sound like such a sap. :?

Given our history with Origins and the fact that there were no plurals in those posts does make the situation lean heavily towards the one bi and one straight li per gender. Not conclusive/confirmed though and I choose to hope no matter how unlikely. If it is great and if it isn't...well there is always next time :D:wub:

EDIT: And the previous posters edit kinda makes my post look out of place, even though I think managed to misinterpret their misinterpretations! But I'll leave it up anyways

Neutrals are usually fun to play. Chaotic neutral? Pure hysteria.

Ah nothing wrong with having a litte fun!

Aw...that's cute. Your Hawke's a newbie in love. I was planning ona mage for a similar reason (that and it fits his personality to use lots of healing/defensive/buffing/debuffing magic) And I don't blame you. Eating people doesn't exactly scream "ooh he needs someone to love him!" to me. More like he needs someone to drive a stake through his heart.   I might make a darker Hawke to romance Anders but I don't see my lighter one working (unless of course Anders is tormented by the fact that he ate those people. (I don't expect him to regret killing them (self defense is self defense) but ripping them apart and eating them is just...vile.

Lulz we probably do.

Edit: Don't worry I'm pretty sappy too.

Haha, yeah, I thought people were again wondering if there was any m/m, which has already been addressed, not if there was more than one. My bad for misreading.
