I dinno. Anders has also been very alone and neglected all of his life. Learning to receive support from someone who is human as opposed to a spirit could be a massive stepping stone for him.

That is highly unlikely. Bioware have always had one party member be the m/m romantic option and I don't see that changing. Which means that at least one of them will be a m/m romance option.

Based on David Gaider's comments, I don't get the impression that Bioware are suddenly going to change from that.

I think it's unlikely that both Fenris and Anders will be for females only, but not for the reasons you said. "It's a Bioware game" is not a valid garuntee of a bisexual male party member, but as far as DA2 is concerned, yes, I believe Fenris or Anders will be bisexual, and a romance-option for male Hawke.

I don't think the Devs here would potentially mislead us in this issue. No, they haven't come out and said that a party-member will be a male same-sex romance-option, but we've been pointed in that direction. If both Fenris and Anders turn out to be completely straight, I will not say that I was oughtright lied to, but I will feel misled.

But, again, I don't think that will happy. Fingers crossed! (And toes, too.)

wow, so many posts while I slept. xD If Anders ends up the Bi LI, its going to be my mShep and mWarden all over again. Saving the world and becoming best buddies with the guy I want, but otherwise remaining celibate with the hopes the guy will someday realize my feelings. (since there's always after the credits to make up stories for.) Cause one way or another, Fenris is mine. Just like Kaiden and Alistair. (especially since I'm tempted to kill off Anders, my Hawke as a good guy or not. )

Grrrr - don't get me started on mShep.

My point was that when Bioware have done m/m romances they have always had this be one of the party members in the past. Like it or not, Bioware has a formula that their games tend to follow and I don't see them breaking from that so dramatically now - because a) it's expected and the merry hell that is likely to rain down otherwise from some quarters would just not be worth the aggravation.

Taking ME as an example, David Gaider's responses suggest to me that he wants to avoid the kind of atmosphere that situation has generated. So I'm confident that he would be upfront if none of the party members were a m/m romance. He has, as you said, steered people in the direction of at least one party member being a m/m romance option - and it strikes me as very unlikely that this wouldn't be the case.

What I think is interesting is that a lot of people are calling Fenris gay, when I - as a gay gamer - get the impression he's not going to be the m/m option if there is only one. I get the vibe that Anders is going to be. We won't know for sure until March.
