@Jimmy: True but this review was supposedly from someone who only played a male warrior Hawke.

Getting my reviews mixed up nvm.

a ball huh? Would this be like those magic 8 balls? You ask a question and give it a good shake?

Gaider: Should Fenris or Anders be the bi LI?
*shakes the 8 ball*
8 Ball: Ask again later
Gaider: Crap. ok...Will the bi LI be Anders or Fenris?
*shakes the 8 ball*
8 Ball: Reply hazy, try again
Gaider: Damnit! Will Anders or Fenris be bi?
*shakes violently*
8 Ball: Better not tell you now
Gaider: ******* piece of >_<
*tosses the 8 ball at the wall*
8 Ball: Just make them all bi.

:o

While I like the idea of the devs using a magic 8 ball, the Manatees and the plastic balls are actually a reference to a South Park episode.

awwwweee! I never got to see that episode! sounds funny. xP *runs off to try and locate a sp episode with manatees* on that note, what if Anders is actually one of the crab people? O.o

Its 'Cartoon Wars Part 2' and it contains an epic battle between Cartman and Kyle, if I recall correctly.

That's the best you can do? You poor troll.

Now, about the magic 8 ball, that would explain a great deal about why the two LI suck so hard for me. And not in a good way.

I'll wait until I've played the game until I rate their suckage. They both look pretty good to me though. Angstylicious.

I think it's most likely they use some sort of animals, that aren't interested in romancing human(like) characters in the first place, to make all their management decisions for them.
It's the only way to explain why most Li's in this game range from unappealing to downright revolting, Isabella was probably just a lucky random pick.

I do have to agree with you. I liked Merrill, but all this 'OMG, SHE'S SO CUTE-DUDE LITTLE DALISH-NISHY MERRILL-DERIL' makes me kinda sick. I really hope she's not like that. I wouldn't say Isabela is my favorite character, but she is a suitable S/S option, and looks like a fun character.

Mm, angst. The other red meat.

I'm cautiously optomistic. I think that the short stories, while well-intended, have become like the "ultimate bible for all things related to this character" because we don't have a lot of info. In all likelihood, these were little side pieces that the character writers didn't put a great deal of emphasis on, and are only capable of giving us the slightest inkling about these characters. They will probably all play out really differently, and with a lot more depth, in-game.

Yeah...the whole cannibal thing was about one line and just seemed like a detail added for flavour to a short story that isn't even necessarily canon. I took the short stories to be kind of comparable to like a vague blurb on a book or something. The DA:O 'This is the new ****' Marylin Manson trailers weren't entirely reliable either..

lol. can we call this person a troll? No. Darn. And this is why no one seems to support s/s...cause we scare off
anyone who's gender doesn't fit the genre. But I'll have you know we
girls who love watching two guys are a largely growing fanbase. Anyway, the other 90% of this thread is awesome for yelling at this person. xD

After weeks of speculation I just found the following tidbit of information in the PC Player review which might interest you guys.

"... DA2's romantic options are unconstrained. You meet a party member chances are you can bone them (your sibling is on fortunate exception) Male, female, amalgamation of human and spirutal manifestation of justice, all are fair game. ..."

So I take, there is someone for anyone to choose from when picking your love interest.

After reading the review, I can't wait to get my hands on the game. (And no, not just because of the romance options)

Can anyone verify that review? *tries to push hopes down*
I doubt. Sure they're saying you can bone them all...but considering this person probably played it straight...he just meant the 2 females and 2 males choice according to gender. Though it would be nice if we could...bone them all. >8)

But how would he know that (I think this was a single playthrough as a malePC) unless he flirted (at the least) with them?

Maybe you can flirt with everyone but not actually start a romance...and he got flirting mixed with romance.

that's very possible. god, i hope he's right. i'd be so happy if they were available to all. That would certainly surprise a few. (and really tick off the 'realism' people. xD)

2. (Persuade) You can't give up hope!
3. (Intimidate) They can accept my love, or die. Their call.
4. I wanted to ask about something else.

*nods* And all the new Anders detractors are ignoring the possibility that the 'eaten' line might not be literal (just a creative metaphor for how ravaged the bodies looked), or the possibility that Anders/Vengeance killed the Templars by ripping them apart with his teeth thereby creating bite marks (which doesn't necessarily mean that he had actually devoured them).
And even then, some also seem to be overlooking the fact that Anders had absolutely no control of himself in the situation so it wasn't his fault, and we have no idea if that has ever happened to him more than just that one time. And using the word 'cannibal' seems utterly unfair because the word suggests something habitual, not an isolated, horrific incident.

Phew, rant over. =]
Anyways, here's to hoping a spoiler-y review or announcement comes out soon which reveals the m/m LI! :wizard:

I'm pretty sure thats just the reviewer trying to make "There are four romance options" sound more 'spicy' or something. I'm already surprised theres a m/m option, if there's two I'll eat my hat. Only replace hat with like, a chicken caesar salad or something.

Careful, if you don't have sufficient strength for 3, it'll force a confrontation with the companion and permanent character death. Jump them first requires 30+ cunning for it to show up :(

@ Minxie18,

What we know however seems to suggest that he did eat them most likely in a literal sense and furthermore that he enjoyed or at least wasn't opposed to doing so.

Furthermore it is heavily suggested Anders willingly allowed said spirit to possess him, with him being a mage who must have weathered the Harrowing he ought to full well know the dangers of such an action.

This in my mind renders him a fully culpable party to whatever actions the demon might choose to undertake whilst in possession of his body, whether he wanted the demon to take these actions or intended their consequences would be completely irrelevant at this point.

Well.

1. You could read it that way, but you could also read it like he was chewed on. Not eaten in the literal sense.
2. The spirit enjoyed it, not him. Liking something is not the same thing as it having a different taste--he describes it as tasting like honeyed wine. It's one thing to like it's taste, but it's another thing to think it tastes likes something else.
3. Wynne is possessed and she's not crazy. Anders corrupted the spirit. He probably didn't assume he could corrupt it. Was it stupid? Yeah, probably. But it wasn't out of the question that he'd think he'd simply share a consciousness, not corrupt a spirit.

Couldn't Anders die in awakening? In which case he didn't really have a choice in his whole re-animated by a justice spirit thing.

Well, you can't romance Aveline. And that there are only four LIs. So, right there, we know that's misinformation. Perhaps, however, flirtation is unfettered. In DAO, you couldn't flirt with someone unless they reciprocated. It seems to me the reviewer only romanced one (or two) people, and assumed that anyone you could flirt with was also a romance.
