Furthermore it is heavily suggested Anders willingly allowed said
spirit to possess him, with him being a mage who must have weathered
the Harrowing he ought to full well know the dangers of such an action.

This in my mind renders him a fully culpable party to whatever
actions the demon might choose to undertake whilst in possession of his
body, whether he wanted the demon to take these actions or intended
their consequences would be completely irrelevant at this point.

Well, he was friends with Justice and got to know him. He believed a noble, do-gooding spirit of justice would be sharing his body not a raging monster. I don't think he can be blamed for not anticipating that his trusted friend could do a sudden and shocking 180.
And we still don't know for sure whether that was the only time he ever hulked out that way. The video of Anders implies that he's been keeping the demon under control (how exhausted he is) and that he's trying to do good to atone for what happened.
Basically, I think we should cut poor Anders some slack.

What we know however seems to suggest that he did eat them most
likely in a literal sense and furthermore that he enjoyed or at least
wasn't opposed to doing so.

I still think we should wait for a dev confirmation on how literal it was. :D

But how would he know that (I think this was a single playthrough as a malePC) unless he flirted (at the least) with them?

Maybe you can flirt with everyone but not actually start a romance...and he got flirting mixed with romance.

:(

Well, you can't romance Aveline. And that there are only four LIs. So, right there, we know that's misinformation. Perhaps, however, flirtation is unfettered. In DAO, you couldn't flirt with someone unless they reciprocated. It seems to me the reviewer only romanced one (or two) people, and assumed that anyone you could flirt with was also a romance.

Yes but s/he said chances are and included Anders specifically. S/he didn't say all.

Edit: I stand corrected. :P But the chances are modify who exactly "all" is talking about.

Most of your party with the exception of your siblings are the romance options are they not? Varric and Aveline aren't romanceable while Anders/Fenris/Isabela/Merill are.

That's not what he said, according to the quote provided.

"DA2's romantic options are unconstrained. You meet a party member chances are you can bone them (your sibling is on fortunate exception)..."

It only makes an exception for your sibling. It doesn't say most, and then the exception. It says all, and then the exception.

EDIT: I see. :D

I doubt he romanced Anders. I think he was just cracking a joke. Or maybe not, who knows?

And I even get the feeling, forget from which developer comment, that Aveline does become a half-romance by the end of the game. I believe a character writer said something like "by the end of the game, her husband has been dead for 10 years... that's a lot of time..." and no doubt you can flirt with Varric so it would make sense if they saw all the characters as options.

Anders: Are you saying that you could become a demon, Justice?
Justice: I said no such thing.
Anders: You said that demons were spirits perverted by their desires.
Justice: I have no such desires.
Anders: You must have some desires...
Justice: I have none! Desist your questions!

He kinda should have.  :P

Yes we don't know one way or the other yet. March 8th needs to hurry up!

Or mabe it just means Anders is the bi option. /shrugs

Pretty sure it was already confirmed that you can flirt with characters whether they're romancable or not.

It would be nice to know on which guy Garrett's charms/flirting are actually going to work (my heart says Anders, ohpleaseohplease). It's just frustrating to have to wait longer than everyone else. Are m/m options really that unimportant? Oh well, maybe other reviews can leak the identity of the male character in question. Or (wishful thinking) male(s). :D

Who says it's impossible to flirt with Aveline? You absolutely can. Whether it goes anywhere is another matter entirely.

You can turn off the overly bright lights. There are four of them, after all.

(Oh yeah, I went there. Picard-style!)

It's been mentioned a few times by different people, I think.

Once was in the Sebastian thread.  People asked if he was a LI, and... Mary?  Said to pick the flirty dialogues and find out for ourselves.

It was also mentioned once that you could flirt with Aveline even though she's not a LI, but I'm not sure which thread that was in.

So, my guess would be that you can flirt with companions/NPC's who are not LI, but I'm not sure you can flirt with all of them... unless that was mentioned somewhere and I just missed it. :P

EDIT: NINJA'D. XP

Yeah but flirting with Aveline doesn't equal flirting with actual romanceable PCs by certain gendered PCs. And of course there's the fact that the reviewe was playing a male PC.  I'm sure we got some flirty lines with Oghren  as well but it didn't go anywhere.

Yes, but he may have misunderstood the meaning of the flirt icon. He may have specifically said Anders, but he didn't say Isabela or Merrill, who most certainly are romancable.

I know that. I was just pointing out how in origins you couldn't flirt with a PC that was only romanceble by another sex.

This is why I wanted to read the source wording itself (thanks scooter!).
Anders  is a good example of what you're saying. Female Warden Commanders can flirt with him even though none of the Awakening companions are romancable. The flirtation is there and has some people convinced of romance potential but it's only there for females so there's no chance of mistaking that for a s/s romance.

that would literally suck to be flirting with Fenris only to find out halfway through or near the end that I can't go past the dialogue 'lick a lampost in winter'. xD (Sorry, but I want to know definitely who's romanceable cause I don't want a repeat Alistair situation with my mHawke.)

Argh. Still nothing?

*slaps on rage face*

And Hawke's gonna be pissed if he only gets to flirt with Fenris and nothing else.

.....fourthed? What are we agreeing on? That the bisexual male romance-option should be announced?

Because, yes, he needs to be revealed. "Outed," some would say. Come on out, bisexual male, it's safe!

...okay, yeah, that joke was pretty awful. I appologize.

And, yeah, if my manHawke ends up "lamppost in winter" flirting with a straight guy, I'm going to cry so hard. My innuendos should be rewarded with sexytimes, Bioware! ........if you know what I mean!

........yeah, I'll go sit in the corner where I belong.

Pissed is a swear word now?

Nope. Guess not.  So...what does that say?

Asterisks could have been self-inserted by user to avoid possible bad-language ban? Better safe than sorry, says I.

Anyway, I'm more confused by the "Still nothing?" comment. Were the same-sex romance options supposed to be announced soon? I've heard it rumoured that everyone will be flirt-able, but that seems like a totally different issue. I just want to know which guy my manHawke should focus his attention on!
