Have fun with that. THE COOL KIDS will be spending the next fourteen days burning themselves out re-playing twenty minutes of game and 15 minutes of pondering whether or not Hawke's witty response eyebrows will be possible to tolerate over the course of the full game over and over again.

I don't think either of our options are going to be in the demo anyway - isn't it just the escape from Lothering and the Isabela quest we saw in the live feed the other week? Since AFAIK, it's game play that's already been leaked, I don't feel the burning need to get it. (Besides, I'm playing on the console and don't have Xbox Live Gold, so I think I still have a week before it comes out anyway, which is a week before release - better to go the full two weeks without rather than try to take the edge off and instead get it worse than before)
Now, if we were getting a chance to meet all our party members through the demo, I'd be a little more open to it, so I could get a feel for how I want to interact with all of them. And finally come to a decision about who I want to romance more, Anders or Fenris.

I hope that I am wrong in this...but I'm sure we only get one option...unless you mean playing female to get both, or playing male to get one, and female to get the other.

I'll be playing the demo, but I might not get the game until mid June =( So, I'll stop by to see who the bi option is on the 8th unless we get a gracious person to reveal it for us a week before. Part of me will be disappointed if it's not Anders, another part of me is just happy we at least have an option. I'll be making the best of it with Fenris. Provided that he isn't persnickety and thinks he knows better than you. Otherwise, there will be sadism involved in making him feel pain from those lyrium markings. OH YES!

Of course, there's that optimism about everyone being bi that I just can't help but admire. I want to believe it.

I don't know, I think I would rather have one companion who was actually bi as part of his character, and maybe even mentioned it outside of romancing him, than both characters being available to both genders. Though to be honest I don't even care which character (Fenris or Anders) ends up being bi as long as they handle my Hawke being gay well.

that would be nice. I don't want to be one of those 'cool kids'. when you play the first hour of the game over and over...you lose the desire to keep playing. trust me, I restarted ME several times and got tired of it...walked away, a week later forced myself to just keep going and then breezed through till the end. (I just couldn't get a self-made Shep to look right, so I finally went with the default male. xD)

I want to know if its Fenris, or if I should start throughing support towards the modders to fix that. xD

I was lobeying for all bi LI in DA:2 a few pages back in this very thread, but someone posted confirmation that there would only be one f/f LI and one m/m LI.  If you search the back pages, you could probably find it, but I'm turning in for the night now.

I confirmed nothing. If you wish to interpret my wording, then make sure you say you're doing that rather than "it was confirmed".

It would be nice if you could confirm...something. Anything. The game is due in like 2 weeks and there's been no confirmation of anything substantial :(

nope. we have to suffer when the hetero romance group gets to bask in their momentary glory and produce a few gut-wrenching fanarts. (only a few...ok...a lot if you google fenris. >_< *smacks face* They're butchering his beautiful personality with fluff, hearts, and puppies already. *cries*

You'd be surprised how many gay and lesbians play these games, so it's always fun to have variety. If Leliana didn't annoy me so much I would've romance her for the hell of it. I wish Morrigan had been it though. >/ She's fiesty.

I'm willing to bet that thin angsty looking glowing elf will be the bisexual this time. He looks like he can swing it both ways..

Well, technically, there's been no confirmation about either of them being the option, but I meant it in terms of 'which of the two would I rather romance.' I've yet to decide which one I want more, so a better look would help me come to a decision.

You make his genitalia sound like a saloon door. umwhatyousay approves +5?

(that's disgusting)

(+3)

But really, the only thing about his appearance that indicates bisexuality is that his hair is better than Anders'. Anders looks like your 28-year-old sociology TA. I'm not saying you wouldn't hit it. I'm just saying you'll regret it later.

I kid. The guys in this game. So nice-lookin'

Just saying that I would prefer the haggard, bipolar Sociology TA over a cocky silver haired elf slave who hates being touched. All in all, it'd be great if our guy has some humor and isn't always sulking in a dark corner 24/7. Anders had a sense of humor so it'd be a damn shame if he lost it. I'm not sure about Fenris. He seems distant and temperamental.

75% of DAO was about how people are secretly douchebags/will become douchebags with little provocation/can only successfully lead kingdoms by being total douchebags and, in general, that you can never, ever get what you want (another 15% was fetch quests with flavor text you never payed attention to because you only live once and the last 10% was non-canonical DLC), and by all accounts they've kicked that up a notch, so I'm pretty sure Anders will be the worst, and totally humorless now. Just like all of the love interests. And the rest of the characters.

[nah, I'm sure he'll be fine, but it's better to be idiotically cynical than suffering from nerd rage]

So I guess it's just a matter of which bothers you more: Anders' stupid hair, or Fenris' stupid skin? You're part of the problem if you say neither. There are no easy decisions.

I really want this game to come out already. I am growing restless.

Would be ok but it would also be awesome to make it so you could deactivate m/m romances right from the beginning.

I would prefer my Hawke screaming and having a nervous break down before having a "deactive" option. Just saying.

M!Hawke: I. AM. HET. ERO. SEX. UAL.
Anders & Fenris: So... no orgy?
Isabela & Merrill: Sure, orgy! Just leave the prude Hawke out. LETS GO GIRLS!
Anders, Fenris, Isabela & Merrill ride away with Captain planet & the black ranger on a unicorn to the forever happiness across the rainbow!

Just thought I'd jump in and say I totally ship Shaun/Desmond from Asassin's Creed XD It just seemed to totally fit your description.

But yes, I also really go for the distant, dark, and tempermental type, so of course I'm selfishly hoping that both Anders and Fenris are their own unique flavors of this! But, likely Anders will be more light-hearted despite his story.

You don't need a toggle or a switch to "deactivate" sexuality. If you don't want Hawke to be bi or gay, then don't flirt with male companions. It should be easy now that the heart icon is there to tell you intent.

Derax, I think it's entirely possible you just didn't like Zevran. Bioware doesn't apologize for making characters that some people hate; in fact, they see it a sign of success if some characters generates heated discussions. Look at Jack from ME2; they were delighted she was generating such strong reactions. Why? It means the character is, in some ways, actually more believable. Not everyone is perfect and, if every companion is cookie cutter agreeable to everyone, people are going to hate that, too. So, I think it's entirely possible you (and many others) just didn't like Zevran for being Zevran, in the same way I didn't like Leliana for being Leliana. Even though she was a perfectly "nice" character, her religion and faith turned me off immediately, both in terms of romance and friendship. I was pissed she was one of the companions I couldn't entirely exclude from the party. A lot of folks hate Zevran and, while I think many sell him short, I understand that because first impressions are powerful and difficult to get over.

You can exclude her from the party.  Can't you?  Now I'm second guessing myself, but you can breeze through Lothering without even meeting her as far as I remember.

Ah, maybe if you never go into the Inn, yes, I suppose you could. For some reason I've never been able to resist going in there to kill those guys. But once you go in...

Yeah, you can. Even if you meet her at the tavern you can still tell her she can't come with you.

ANYWAY, as to the topic... as much as Ander's makes me giggle like a 5 yr old ODing on sugar, I'm not really seeing him be the M/M romance option. Probably going to end up being Fenris. Now, that's mostly just going by his characterization in DAO:A, but you never know, we could end up being surprised. One thing I will say, I really hope Ser Pounce A Lot is still around :P

I'm personally looking forward to seeing how the M/M romance will play out in this one. I love Zevran to death (his comments regarding the rope never fail to make me laugh), but I'd like a LI in this one that is a little more of a challenge to woo.
