My hope is holding out for Fenris and that promise of pinning him to a wall with my mHawke. What's all this about a past girlfriend? Hah...like I believe that. The man was sold as a slave as a child, turned into a weapon through experimentation, and only allowed out of his room (my guess) to kill when the Magister felt like it. I don't think the Magister would let him do the hockey.........unless the Magister was trying to breed Fenris.  Can you do that? Would the lyrium thing pass geneticly? Maybe Fenris will prefer men because he had women forced on him. oh wait...that guess supports all the fenris-haters abused gay elf paranoia. xD *hides behind Anders shield*

I think a lot of people would be mad at Gaider and co if they pulled a Kelly Chambers (or heaven help us...Conrad Verner) on us. If the f/f's get a plot character, so do we. Heck, if we got one in DAO, it would be uncalled to not have it in DA2. *then again...the game does suspiciously look like ME. Are we sure the ME team didn't hijack the DA team out of jealousy, tie them up and then assume their form. Maybe the ME group is the second coming of a Haven occult.  Quick! Check their bedrooms for bloody alters and dead knights!*

It wouldn't matter though. Be honest even if they did leave out m/m how many of us do you really think wouldn't buy the game? Almost everyone who posts in the FFTL thread bought ME1 and ME2. They'll just get some whining on the forums. Whoopie-de-doo. 

Maybe the ME team did kidnap the DA guys they made the DA team a blood sacrifice and ripped off their faces and drank their blood. And stole all the DA team's cookies. Truely a tragedy. What kind of person steals another's cookies?

I'd buy the game cause I pre-ordered it...but I'd wait for a mod to fix the problem. There's always a flag that can be fiddled with. >8)

Or, like in ME and DA, my character will complete the game unsmexed and devoted to the male friend. My Shep is still holding out hope after 2 games that he'll get to jump Kaiden. Still holding onto hope... *knows its futile by now*

If I look at it pessimisticly, I wouldn't be excited for the game release date. And that's the only thing that makes these work days go by fast. Regardless, I will stalk Fenris anyway. xD It wouldn't be the first time I've played a game and pretend two guys chats weren't filled with double innuendos. Flemeth looks awesome in this. xD The Qunari to. I'm still sad we can't play different races. I wouldn't mind playing a female if I got to play a Qunari female. (they look like they can whoop some serious darkspawn tooshies. xD But I'm sure the mod community will fix that to somehow. xD)

Yes, my first playthrough of DAO was a male elf mage who was set on romancing Alistair. But upon no more convo choices after the very encouraging 'lick a lampost in winter' convo...I googled and had my heart broken. Still, my elf mage went on to win the day, craft a witch baby to cheat death, and leave Anora behind as ruler as he, Alistair, and Zevran went on to rebuild the gray warden order and I consoled myself by saying that Alistair, who felt I was his most precious friend, would continue on to realize his feelings and finish that lampost convo.

Well even a romance able Kelly chambers kind of guy would be far better than Anders or Fenris provided he's cute.
As for Sebastian chances are that he isn't a Li at all on the other hand miss Hepler confirmed you could at least flirt with him. If the flirt lines aren't as limited as with Samara (which we do not know I grant you) they most likely represent a significant amount of resources invested in the character which would bring us to the point of why  a commercial developer like Bioware  would do that when they're absolutely pointless.
Again, yes it assumes that the monkeys that manage Bioware/EA actually know something about efficient resource allocation.
If Sebastian is indeed an experiment by Bioware in romance able DLC, and he does seem to be too cute not to be, then I do fear the relationship with him unfortunately has to have boobies involved if it is aimed at having the fangirls fly to their credit cards.
So color me ever so slightly optimistic that Sebastian can be romanced but very pessimistic that he's available for m/m too. Which means I'll have to get an equal love mod to enjoy being constantly referred to as a woman which is I grant you only slightly better than celibacy but would be a big improvement over either Fenris or the unthinkable.

Ryzaki, I'm curious as to why you're so adamant the bi LI won't be part of the party. Every other BioWare game that's included a m/m interest has featured them in the party. ME2 was done by a completely different team, and Kelly was only an option for the girls. We know Isabella's bi, so clearly they're not trying to keep alternative sexualities out of the party. And in Origins, both Zev and Leliana were part of the main group. You can debate their significance to the main story, sure, but they're still companions. Of course you're entitled to your opinion, I just think it's pretty obvious our bi romance will be either Fenris or Anders (or, fingers crossed though not holding my breath, both).

I do believe that Bioware will included a bi character in your party for both f/f and m/m. We all know who the f/f action is going to be it is just the matter of the m/m. My opinion is that it is going to be Fenris but who knows. Bioware is known for keeping secrets until the release date.

Ditto! I'd be if the happiest guy in the world if Varric was suddenly a bi LI. I doubt it though at this rate.

very nice. I envy you for finding fanart that isn't totally out of a fangirl's mary sue dreamland fantasy. I tried to google Fenris and... *shudders at the memories*

And yes, I know that feeling. They start hugging and saying 'oh my god' and 'like' every five seconds. Though it is fun to torment them by posting a random s/s pic and crushing their mary sue dreams. xD I've had a girl comment on a video/picture I made going 'nuuu! *insert name* is mine! He's not gay!' And I laughed and said...he's not yours either. *rolls eyes*

So far I'm sticking to this thread only. I'm afraid of the other more character focused threads.

I find it sad that Western gamers are turning into Japanese gamers...when it comes to being caught up in video game romances. Waste of money to implement that garbage, especially when you have to implement same sex romances or the GLBT community goes nuts.

I'm being pessimistic. I was all sure that we were going to have Thane as a m/m option in ME2. Needless to say my dreams were crushed brutually. 

So I'm gonna be sure. So just in case there's a "gotcha!" moment I'm not completely crushed.

They don't HAVE to offer romance, or even LGBT romance, in my opinion. I play a large number of games that don't, and even though I identify with the LGBT community, I don't feel discriminated against by games that only offer straight options. On the other hand, I certainly do get giddy when LGBT options are well-implemented, which I think is not unreasonable. Besides, all the romances are skippable -- if it's garbage to you, just don't play it.

EDIT: Also, why even bother to post that here? Sheesh.

Yes!  Because equal representation sucks!  BOOHISS! *shakes fist*

(Also: I can't think of a single Japanese game that I've played where romance with a companion was optional and not written into the storyline. )

EDIT:  Also also, what lilliful said.

My thing is, I can already play a straight character in several of the video games that are already out there.  Dragon Age, however, is the only game franchise I'm interested in that' let's me play a character I'm more comfortable with.

I'm already happy that we get at least 2 bi characters, but if we got more, I'd be happier.
