I've been googling, and googling, and googling, nothing has helped.

I'm trying to find a game similar to Dragon Age for the 360. The same things keep coming up, Fallout 3, Mass Effect 1 and 2, Fable 2 and 3 and Oblivion.

1. I have Fallout 3, I don't like it. I'm looking for something fantasy and third person.

2. I personally don't have Mass Effect but my friend has it and I watch him play, I'm considering getting it but I REALLY would rather have fantasy, it's just what I prefer.

3. I have Fable 2 and 3, I loved them. That's actually what got me to Dragon Age, I was scouring the internets for something similar to the Fable's and Dragon Age came up. I actually liked Dragon Age way more, but Fable is amazing.

4. I bought Oblivion after hearing all the great reviews and how everyone likened it to Dragon Age. I started it but haven't gotten into it yet, the first person is hard for me to get use to.

Some extra info. I am buying Dragon Age Origins: Awakening, and pre-ordering Dragon Age II, I was hoping for something to hold me in the time between beating Awakening and receiving DAII.

Some other things I like, but aren't necessarily required: Gender and race options, moral choices changing the game, romance options.

So, yeah... Sorry if I sound picky, haha. I think DA might have ruined me for other games. If anyone can help I'd be extremely grateful.

I'm not really sure, since you named Oblivion. I was going to suggest that. The story is kind of crap, but it's pretty and has a lot of exploration. I would like to pipe in though- Oblivion and Fallout 3 are capable of being in third person.

Well, I bought Oblivion for the same reason and while to me it's a bit different than Dragon Age, I am enjoying it. More so now that I've gotten further into the game.

I haven't really found anything quite like what BioWare puts out, unless you can go back and play the Baldur's Gate series (if you are on a PC.) I think they just released Baldur's Gate Redux, of which I don't have too many details as I don't play on a PC ATM, but I'm sure will come up on a google search.

I hear alot about a game called The Witcher that seems to get good reviews but I don't know much about it.

ETA: Whoops, sorry! I missed that you're on the 360 Posted Image

I personally don't like Oblivion, at least after the first playthrough. Yes you have an open world but I would heavily recommend to play Oblivion on PC due to the mods. And I can't explain why one would compare Oblivion with DA as the gameplay is totally different.

Besides that I don't know any alternative on XB360 or PS3 that would be nearly similar to DA.

Oblivion... third... person...? On the 360? You might be my new best friend.

Let me tell you, as Fallout 3 and Oblivion are from the same developers they play quite similar. I played them both due to their overall positive critiques but with both I was very disappointed.

Hmmm...not sure on a 360. DA:O is very much a PC-style RPG. I'd recommend Neverwinter Nights 2 if you were on a PC as the nearest approximation to DA:O in terms of gameplay, even more so than the BG titles. The companion interactions are not as deep, but there are companions and romances and it's a story-driven tactical RPG.

If TES:5 takes some cues from Fallout: New Vegas, it might be interesting when it comes out. I found Oblviion quite boring, personally.

The Witcher...well, it depends what you liked about DA:O. The Witcher is similar in the sense that it allows you to make decisions that affect the world (more directly during the game actually). However, you play a character with a highly defined personality, and one that I did not enjoy.

have you tried alpha protocol  or jade empire both are decent games with flaws but you get to make choices that affect outcome of the ending

Definitely play the Witcher if you don't mind playing as a predetermined character. Great game, great story, great characters, great atmosphere... you get me. :)

If you don't mind playing an older game you could try Baldur's Gate II and its expansion. Back in the day I dearly loved that game, but wasn't happy when I played a Windows XP conversion of it.

Try Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights and Jade Empire - they are all fantasy and have gender and race options, moral choices changing the game and romance options

Oblivion. Main story is a bit rubbish, but even so, all the quests are brillant. This is a slow game. Lots of walking. But it's very pretty and a nice change of pace. Dragon Age was heavily inspired by the Baldur's Gate series. Some go as far as saying that it was better. My brother borrowed it ages ago, and I had a chance to play the first game. The only dissapointing thing about it was it had to be returned. Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance wasn't very enjoyable for me. Some nice ideas but just boring.

Err.

Well uh; I have Dungeon Seige... which isn't as complex as Dragon Age, but I think for the price I bought it for it was a nice distraction. It's not very customisable, you still have a story line but you don't get to chose what to say or how to react.

And the graphics compared to the two? Dragon age far superior. Far far far far-- this was like, an old windows game. Made in like. 2004. Idk exactly when. >.<

The music on it is also quite lovely.

I'm so cheap when it comes to getting games. xD

On PC? The BG series. Dragon Age is yet to match the writing quality of the game for me.

Baldur's Gate - Complete Edition.

If you want a real, traditional RPG, this is the best you can get.

On par:

Planescape Torment - a lot of text though, be warned.

A game like Dragon Age? Like a more classical RPG with party play and such. Well, the classics as already mentioned before are Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate etc.

If you are looking for a more recent game, I'd very much recommend the the Drakensang titles from The Dark Eye series. Those games were very much overlooked in other countries while well known in Germany where it received several awards. The Drakensang games are two very nice RPGs based on one of Europe's most popular pen & paper The Dark Eye.
Gameplay-wise like BG2, NWN, Dragon Age. The setting is different. While playing it, I got really the feeling of a session of pen & paper RPG, not a hyper epic storyline like in DA. You get more RPG and character developement (@Bioware, I hope you don't make it even more worse with DA2). Anyway these are the titles, definitely worth a try when you like RPGs:

I support this post 100%, Drakensang is a wonderful traditional RPG, because it's based on pen and paper, the character development is more in depth and I was a little lost at first but once you get used to it, it's a really nice game.

U've played and finished DA:O, you can now honestly tell u have lived a full life -- if the gods forsake us tomorrow and the sky comes down u should not have any regrets and die happy, for nothing really comes close, nor will it for years to come.

Uh, how is anything Oblivion anything like Dragon Age? They're both RPGs and they're both fantasy but that's about it.

Anyway, back on topic, most games like Dragon Age are for the PC. Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Drakensang, NWN 1 & 2, Planescape Torment...there are a ton of them. On Xbox not so much. There's always Knights of the Old Republic.

The Witcher is better than DAO IMO
