Hehe ..it's quite funny because from what i gather. Most hater are teenager and young adult.
Has for me it's just a weird subgenre. It's not something you expect.Just like you don't expect a grow up man to play pokemon .

That's pop - disappears after a little while... very little most of the time.
Disney used to have her in every show.
They don't need her anymore they got Miley Cyrus.. and in a few years she'll disappear when they find someone else to take over.
I don't hate Justin. Hell he almost never crosses my mind. To hate something would be to care. I heard a minute of one of his songs and that was it.

Seriously, i cannot imagine this kid still around in 2012. People like him don't last, because they have no musical soul, they don't know what it takes to be a real artist.
It's like going to Mcdonald's: It's all flashy, pretty and overpriced. But in the end... that's not real food, it's something... empty, artificial. It's just something carefully engineered to look and taste like food, using the cheapest ingredients available in order to maximize income. Quantity over quality.
It's been hapenning for some time, and sadly it will continue to happen: a company finds a "cute" kid, make him/her sing a couple of catchy songs, floods the media with this person's face, and sometime later, when the "artist" is reduced to a drunken junkie and is not so cute and profitable anymore, they get another person and the cicle repeats itself.
But enough about Bieber. Let's hear something real. Something that will probably be still around in another 50 years (maybe more).

He's a product to be sold. And as such, his lifetime in the limelight is severely limited. It's pretty easy to see that happening. He's not an "artist" in the sense that he creates anything. He's just a singer that regurgitates a song someone else created. That's the nature of the beast. I don't hate him for that, in fact I certainly admire his ability to generate $$$, but I also can't stand music with no soul. His music has no soul. That's why I personally dislike him.
Poor kid. Hope he doesn't turn out like Lindsay Lohan.

Sorry to ask OP, but do you post on IGN? A user with a similar username posted this same thread a little bit ago.
Actually, no. I'm sure a lot of users of the word "obvious" in them and I never ever want to participate in the IGN forums considering the type of people that go there. I only use TOR and DA2.

It's partially an issue of "haters gonna hate" (sorry, I had to bring that up) and what Himura mentioned. Seriously, the kid is extremely talented. I'll give him that. But he's singing pop music; the most unoriginal, completely manufactured, and commercialized form of music of all time.

Ah, Lindsay Lohan. Now that's a name that was just admired fanatically and then disappeared.

"baby, baby, baby... oh, it's like, baby, baby, baby" and the repetition just never seems to end!

I don't think it's jealousy or because these people don't have a life. I think it has to do with over saturation of a sound that seems to be "manufactured." We've heard this beat before and the lyrics are shallow. Mix that with the fact that you can't go to YouTube, turn on a radio or one of the music TV stations, and apparently now a forum on a gaming website, without hearing about him. It's too much.

Yeah, I don't understand how my cousin can listen to that sort of crap. But then again, every pop song is the same so it really doesn't matter. Justin Bieber is famous for the same reason Paolini is famous: because he's young.

In all seriousness, its because its pop and as others have said...pop seems to be manufactured in america like JRPG's are manufactured in japan....they just keep repeating the previous thing!

Ok, I did too. All I've got to say is once he goes through puberty he's screwed. Choir boys don't keep their voice past 12.

I can understand though . .When i was a kid .. i was a big NKOTB fan .. Little girst fainting everywhere.
I sympathize. I was subjected to NKOTB for an eternity, due to my sister's room being right next to mine.
Fortunately, she eventually grew out of the boy-band phase.

Mine didn't: while her friends all moved on to Radiohead and Nirvana, my sister remained resolutely tasteless! Having a sibling with a fundamentally different taste in music and a habit of monopolising the family stereo made for an uncomfortable co-existence under the same roof. In the end, I had to move out.Swordfishtrombone wrote...
