No idea. He seems to be yet another tween heartthrob. I only hear about him online so I assume most of the people who 'hate' him are young and prone to hating people they've never met because of some issue of MASSIVE IMPORTANCE to them and their peers.

That sums up my thoughs on the matter more succinctly than I would have.

Though I've heard of Justin Beiber I've never heard anything from him, I just don't care about him either way.

Sure that's a valid point and all, but I remember back in the day at my highschool Justin Bieber was more so a running joke (they made fun of him at assemblies and all that) and in cases like that I think it's more because he's annoying not because /b/ trolls have anger issues and have to dish out the hate. Such as what they have done to Scientology in the past.

Even adults I have talked to can't stand him, but then again they can't stand the Beatles either. That said the reason I don't like him is because his personality is annoying and he lacks genuine talent. (Just watch that Norton Graham interview)

It's jealous hate fans who can't believe that a disty young boy who is very femine looking to be a teensensation. I can see how he can be annoying to some people. There have been many teen idols in the past with hate groups in every generation. Any one remember the Backstreet Boys hate group or Twilight hate group for example? I'm not a fan of him, because I am not interested in his music.

I don't know his personality so I can't say I don't like him. But his voice annoys me sometimes. I respect others's taste to music, though ;) Not everyone have to like what I like.

Ok, I'm just going to post here what I already put on my justin bieber hate group:

Justin Bieber is a worthless being that has little reason to exist on this planet. His music is, in my opinion, low even for the genre, and his tone-deaf singing is enough to make Michael Jackson turn in his grave. The fact that he hates school and prefers to live like a spoiled superstar demonstrates the incredibly low quantity of brainpower he has. And his popularity is so ridiculously huge that it is beyond a joke; he done almost nothing of merit, and yet he's treated as if he's climbed Mount Everest or performed CPR on President Barack Obama.

The reason why his music sucks is because none of his songs mean anything or make you feel anything. All of them are an excess of the corniest lyrics imaginable, with no story, substance, or originality, whined along to the same familiar rhythm we've heard for years. He believes he knows what true love is, but to be honest he seems to be perpetually trapped in his opinion that the definition of true love is to have lots of swooning teenagers circling him like planets orbiting the Sun.

It isn't just his abysmal music, but also his look. He's 16 and yet he has the face of a toddler, combined with hair of an 8-year old. And the hat he always wears... he looks worse than a clown when wearing it. And no, his smile does not make him cute, his smile is cheap, fake and immature, much like that of a naughty little boy who's making a false apology to his parents.

In conclusion, Justin is a talentless, brainless, childish little mummy's boy which will go on to accomplish nothing, but will still attract idiotic attention from idiotic fans who he doesn't deserve.

I didn't really know why people hated him either. Then someone linked me an interview with him... Apparantly he doesn't know what Germany is? Seriously?!
As soon as I saw that video I was like BABY, BABY, BABY, OOOOOOH.

Seriously? Christ.

Apparently quite well known, much to my surprise.  I assume either he's a largely America-only phenomenon or I'm just Old™, though admittedly one doesn't necessarily preclude the other.

From what I can tell, he's a bit like the Bay City Rollers.  Or rather a Bay City Roller since I presume there's only one of him.

I dislike Justin Bieber because non-rock music is awful

You are free to fancy him at your leisure but I find he cannot sing, at least not well. Just a popular marketing gimmick, so to speak. Like Twilight but nowhere near as bad. My opinion of course.

Oh the the fact whenever he enters a room a legion of girls sob is annoying. <_<

i don't hate him, i just make fun of him as a cultural icon, because he's very different from me and making fun of things different than you is what geeks do. He performs music I don't care for to a demographic that's not mine, and he's very successful at what he does so I'm envious of his success. he's also got a decent voice and is a good-looking kid, so he's got that going for him too.

All are reasons why someone might hate Justin Bieber. I just hope that "hate" is not accompanied by encouraging violence against him, or referring to him repeatedly as a "her." That's all. Thank you.

Ah, that's pretty common. My mother did the same for Julio Iglesias back in her youth

Canadian icon, Gordon Pinsent, reads his favourite quotes from Justin Bieber's new memoirs. Watch 22 Minutes Tuesdays at 8:30 on CBC TV.

I don't hate him. I couldn't care less who the current tween idol is.

I am horrified that I might actually be related to him through marriage though. My aunt's maiden name is Bieber, and she thinks he might be a 3rd or 4th cousin of hers. It's weird thinking that you might kind of be related to a celebrity.

I can't speak for everyone -

but I think part of the problem is the "insta-fame" that some (it's usually singers, and usually very young ones) gain.

Adults (and by here I mean over their mid-20's) who are outside of paying any real attention to the music scene suddenly have their own media bombarded by these "music acts" they have never heard of before -

whether they are watching SNL, The Morning Show, The Daily Show, or Fox News, suddenly there's this kid everywhere, whether it's Gaga or Bieber or whomever the next flavor of the year will be. And now that they've had it forced into their awareness, suddenly they see this kid everywhere and are like "who the heck is this, and why is everyone so obsessed?"

That doesn't always translate into "hate", but for some of the more passionate or easier annoyed, it can.

This is only one aspect. I'm sure there are plenty of teenage boys who have a pseudo-jealously for how smitten some teenage girls are with him.

Then there are those who are more analytical and (some would say) snobbish about entertainment or art or music or whatever, and they sample Bieber and dislike the style of the music and see nothing of worth there... but maybe the kind of music THEY like is not recognized while the Bieber's of the world have all the press.

Finally, there are the people who instinctively react negatively to ANYTHING that is overhyped, whether by the press or by the public or both. Bieber's a victim of his own fame with those people.

----

If anything, I'm in the first group I mentioned. I don't hate him - I just get annoyed that he, or Snooki, or a dozen other "pseudo-celebrities" like the Kardasians (?sp?) get plastered all over my news. Yes, I don't read the stories attached to them, but I still see their faces everywhere and am like - "oh, that's the latest fodder for celebrity gossip sites, eh?"

It's a mild annoyance. It's not a judgment on any talent he may or may not have in my case. I only ever saw him sing to Tina Fey in an SNL skit, which made me uncomfortable on many levels personally...

listen to his music and you will understand. Although a nice kid, his music and voice is just what represents the decline of the mainstream music industry

just because he is a marketable young kid that teenage girls hearthrob for, managers think they can sell sex through this kid to girls. All his vids, product placement over the roof. The subject of his music is also a joke, throws a clean party at usher's house (pfft what orange juice?), and what the hell does a 15 year old kid know about love? Autotuned, repetitive crap. Sometimes I am reminded of talented though struggling musicians that would die for this attention, and it just disgusts me how a teen hearthrob can bull**** over a mike an earn millions

His music sucks, but there is no reason to really hate him
