I found the original game in a pawn shop and enjoyed the original campaign as well as the custom content I've played but there are so many more adventures that can't be played without the expansions as well as the expansions themselves to play. My question then- is there anyone that sells shadows of the undrentide and/or hordes of the underdark anymore or would I have better luck trying to find them secondhand? I prefer hard copies of the game as I've never used a digital download before but any help is appreciated. Thanks
Where to find/purchase expansions?

Just did a cursory check and found both expansions and Kingmaker sold as individual purchase on ebay. Leads me to believe it may appear on other globally-marketed sites like amazon, best buy, etc.
However, unless you can find each sale with free shipping, once you add all the shipping of individual items together it may be less expensive to just purchase the Diamond DVD and get the full monty all-at-once. Besides that, I have not read about any others' having any CD key authentication problems with the Diamond version.
Just a suggestion.

Thanks for the info hipmaestro. Looking at shipping prices makes me think that the diamond edition with everything included is the best option. I found it on good old games for 9.99 and a digital download would eliminate the shipping but I've never done it before so I am a bit wary. Could I make a hard copy of the game as a backup if I went the digital route? I know they offer unlimited downloads but I still like the hard copy lol.
Edit- they are DRM-free it looks like

I ma not sure if the GOG version wouldbe different. But with the Diamond edition installed from the disk, you can move it where ever you want by just copying the nwn directory. Even if you want to install it on a differant computer all you would have to do is copy the NWN directory over. The real control on the game is the CD-keys. Two copys of the same CD key can not play online at the same time. Or even multiplayer on the same local network at the same time.
So yous you should be able to back it up onto CD's/DVD's with no problem.

The GoG method is the way to go these days. But as a born skeptic, I would still be motivated to contact the provider(s) prior to purchase to inquire EXACTLY how the CD key information is provided to the customer. Other than placating a neurosis, you really can't beat the price, can you?

When you buy a copy of NWN from GOG it comes with a generic CD-Key. In order to be able to play it in multiplayer you will need to request a unique CD key from GOG. The link below is to the instructions on the GOG site.

Total props for the GoG version. You may need to run the critical update, but the overall install/update is far easier than any of the disc based versions I have floating around here.

I got a GoG copy. I recommend it. It's a big download, so use a fast, reliable internet connection. And allow three business days for the multi-player CD key to be delivered.

Just to chime in on this.
GoG.com is super good. The CD Keys may take some time after requesting but they will come. The game runs just great and I'm doing this on a Mac running it on Parallels 6 with Win XP SP2.

Another thumbs up for GOG here. It's easy to get, it installs quickly, and it generally works.
The only downside is that doesn't quite work to buy it if, for instance (as happened to me), you have someone in town for just a few days and you want to get their laptop set up for a multiplayer game, because of the delay in CD key distribution. Not that it's terribly slow or anything, but in today's world, it 1) should come with unique keys mailed to you by default and/or 2) be automated so you can get your keys online in seconds.
Also, it's an easy fix to run the NWNEnglish1.69HotUUpdate.exe, but the GOG version installs and says that it's version 1.69 when it's not. It wasn't until my playing partner couldn't find a door in one of the Aielund modules and hunting down the missing model file in a BIF that I realized that the GOG version wasn't really 1.69.
