*Pling!* - Tiny things you want in ME3

The first Mass Effect was a game with a great ambience, and that was something I really hoped would be carried into the second game. And, for the most part, it was. I loved the game. It changed a lot, whether that's for better or worse is up to you, but it retained the soul of the the first, it felt like Mass Effect. But one thing, on tiny thing, was missing. It was so small I didn't really notice, but for a slight niggling, and I couldn't put my finger on it for about a year. Then, after a hiatus in play, I came back to it and as soon as I loaded it up, I realised what it was.
It was the synthesizer noise, the little *pling* that sounded as you selected stuff in the menus. Load up ME1 now, press a few buttons on the menu, and you'll see what I mean. It's so small, but it does feel better than the less original clicking sound of the second game.
After noticing this, I realised that it would be really nice if this could come back in the third Mass Effect. It's a small, easy thing to implement, and yet does add to the game. Both of the first two contain great, but tiny stuff that should definitely return for the final installment. Things like the plinging sound in ME1, or the personal feel of the captain's quarters in ME2.
This thread is basically to discuss which tiny touches you think should be ported into Mass Effect 3, or new ones that could add to the game's overall feeling.

I really want squad mates to wear armor. preferably the customizable type we can wear... just no N7 for them.

Ammo not being a power.
I still want it to behave like one, but without the cooldown. That's handy. I.e., you can have any character carrying multiple ammo types, and each type adds a "power" to their section of the HUD, and if they stick with the loadout screen, you can select ammo there too. Much more convenient than going into an inventory, selecting a weapon, selecting the mod slot, and finally picking the ammo type.

A Krogan with a giant sword or axe instead of a gun. He shouldn't last too long, just long enough to elicit a 'Holy s**t!' reaction.
A trailer for 'Blasto: The Jellyfish Stings'

There are probaly thousands of ships in the galaxy and yet we never see ships on patrol, ships leaving places like Omega or the Citadel or ships just doing business on the galaxy map. Is Shepard the only one with a ship in this place.
Also for having the second biggest fleet in the galaxy how come we never see more than 10 ships at the Citadel.

The unrated extended edition of 'Blasto: The Jellyfish Stings'.
Also, I want my @#$%ing Shepard VI, damn it. I feel pretty extreme about that, actually.

I’d like BW to keep, strengthen, and evolve LI from 1 and 2 sense players have worked or suffered for (ME) their LI s
I like the idea of characters being more animated when shep talks to them.
Npcs in the world changing spots and moving! Same girls dancing in the same club move them club to club every so many visits. Get that guy away from Afterlife every so often have a girl trying to fake her way in or something.
I love a prior post on beat the game and unlock curtain characters as squad mate recruitable on a future replay of 3. I also like their idea of having them fully interactive unlike what we got with Zeed and Kasumi.
Character development for Shepard! When Earth is attacked I want shep regardless of their background to be affected and show it, when we finally land on Earth I want shep to get development on this too not a stone cold Shepard they can be angry or determined but not indifferent.
If characters die in ME3 no indifferent Shepard I thought the Virmire death was done well for a public face but why not have a private moment if shep had a LI? Basically if squadmates die in a Virmire like scenario Shep professionally can handle it strong but have second private moment shortly after with LI they come to his/her room and they say they’d like to talk to him/her on it player can say yes or no. If yes then we can have an intimate moment like the SB friend scenario they’re caring and listening or if it’s Jack or Miranda I’d image them to be like deal with it but form the scene with the characters personalities in mind Miranda’s version of comfort just might be tough love. Where as Tali’s would be loving comfort.
Yes to more hair modes for both sheps and scars I miss the scars from 1!
Bring back viewable love scenes like 1 not ME2 fade to blacks!
I don’t care if Tali’s face is shown or not but could you maybe to a tasteful back shot showing her skin tone and if she has hair under her helmet or not?
Yes to the darker subjects and concepts for 3 make that M mean something BW earn it! I want to feel like I need to check into a mental hospital from the scarring my shep receives!
Bring Hackett’s voice back maybe a side mission or two I just want to hear him again! I’m not so sure of meeting him sense I envision him as a Ty from BSG type of character and BW might not do that!
Can I meet my mom and also talk to her via comm. Chat if I’m spacer shep? If I was that kids mom I’d track him down shoot out the engines and forcefully board his ship by now two years and you don’t talk or write to your mom after you come back from the dead and defeat the collectors! I’d be worse then Korbin Dallas’s mom by now with a son like that!
More flotilla exploration plz I loved being on the main ship but only a main room and a few hallways! Sure, sure it’s a bunch of interconnecting hallways leading to rooms but I want to explore it and if Tali or Legion are with me get insight and maybe Tali saying memories of friends or parents while there I want 90% ship exploration the 10% non explorable would be crew quarters sense I’m sure people don’t want me riffling through their things.
I’d like points during 3 where I must choose save planet A or planet B like in ME’s movie segment. I also want different rewards for doing so say I save planet A well they give me a planet killer for my trouble but if I save planet B I get the best shields known to man for the Normandy. Also that planet killer won’t pop up in any other gifts through out 3 so players w/o knowing what the prize will be will need to choose wisely.
I want to know why the reapers/ collectors/ former SB wanted sheps body and it better be good and shep better react to it because there would be a developing moment there too!
No pre warnings if characters could die or if worlds we thought we saved are going to be reaper food surprise me.
Different strengths of enemies some are easier some are harder like 1 did.
Crewmen can wear what they want on ship but in battle suit up!
Yes to fshep getting her own moves back! Speaking of moves can f shep at lest dance like a girl? She can do a fun dance like some of the club girls or something no shuffle foot plz!
The ability to draw and hoist your gun when you want! No constantly keeping it out in front of you!
Armor off while in safe zones like the Citadel or Illium if for instance shep plans to raid a place on either of these zones he comes back later armor on.
I want unique ammo like poison, explode, or fire but not as a power up do like 1 did we put it on the weapon.
Characters get unique hand to hand measures Tali and Kasumi knives, Garrus slam with weapon, Grunt charge, Shepard kick and rifle slam, ect.
Oh yes bring back crouch and ME1 style zoom in and long sprint

Grenades would be nice.
Probably not a small thing, but I liked exploring around in the Mako. I hope that they can bring it back, I loved driving around in it.
Being able to level up squad members when you're on the Normandy, not waiting until you have them in your team when going on a mission.
The one point per rank when levelling up, instead of saving up squad points to purchase ranks. It made me feel like levelling up was really slow.

arghh thats what it was!! I knew something was missing sound wise but couldnt put my finger on it. The music was still there for the most part so knew it wasnt that. Its those little things about ME which still make me love it more then ME2 in some ways.
I know the ME2 main menu has the Daily News but other then that its kind of dull and the background ambiance noice is really dull. When the Daily News stops, the main menu will be the drabbest thing ever! ME had the vigil music and menu pinging sound. Brilliant!

The mass relay going off, the Normandy dropping the Mako through unique skies and elevator and tram scenes that masked the loading times on 1 felt organic, as if you were really on your way some place, whereas the mission complete screens (besides being unnecessary and a akin to a recap of the entire show during a commercial break for those who paid so little attention they missed the fact they found some eezo) were loud and jarring and completely killed any sense that I was in the ME world.
I, too, missing crouching alot.
There are alot more things I'd like to see return, but they are probably bigger than the OP wanted.
