Does anyone know that if Leliana or Alistair aren't romanced in a playthrough, that they end up 'getting together' at some point after the game? I came upon this though today as I started romancing Morrigan, deciding to leave Leliana single.
Which then I remembered here on the forums someone poossibly saying that Alistair and Leliana get together? It's not a big deal or anything, but I just wanted to know if it was ever confirmed. I'm guessing not, as I tried searching for it - lazily. But in certain endings, Leliana said she talks with Alistair about doing an expedition into the Deep Roads at some point.
Seems like they would be a good match. It would be cool if they got together. As I always feel bad as I get all the ladies and he's like my third wheel...
So...Alistair and Leliana?

They don't. Outside of a AU DLC in which the Darkspawn brutally murders both of them and the warden dies in the joining.

Nope, Leliana goes her own way and Alistair ends up either married to Anora or gets some other spouse if made king. Or goes off to do Grey Wardening stuff if not made king, not betrayed or executed.

I think that in Darkspawn Chronicles, a codex of one of them state that there were rumors that they were lovers. I would have like that, they have a common way of thinking and both need hardening during the game. If alistair won't marry Anora, then I would have put him to marry or been in romance with Leliana. I also leave her single and as a good friend for each time I only romance Morrigan. As for alistair I really don't care if he gets the throne alone or married, or executed or sacrificed, however, the idea of Leliana and alistair getting together sounds good.

I'm not particularly relishing the image of Leliana in the arms of another man, but if she was going to fall in love with someone else, I'd rather it be Alistair.

You know I used to think Alistair carried a torch for Leliana because the first time I went to prison with him he asked me who was coming to rescue us and I said "Leliana" and he gave this very enthustiastic "I hope you riiiight" (whistle, whistle, wink, wink) resonse.
Anyway the second time I went to prison with him I told him Morrigan was coming and the response was the same. Apparently it's just his line there. He always hopes your right.

I have no trouble with the notion. It seems to me that they'd do well together, particularly hardened Alistair with an unhardened Leliana. There aren't very many playthroughs where fate would allow it, though. On those where he doesn't end up with the warden, he's either married, needs to find a queen, or overseas. The only one where that would be feasible is where he stays a warden.

I have no problems with Alistair and Leliana getting together in an AU where the Warden doesn't exist. In DC he'd be forced into leadership and Leliana would be helping *him*, not 'the PC and the other guy'. It would be Alistair who's with her when Marjolaine's assassins strike, and Leliana with him when he goes to see his sister (seriously, can you see him asking Morrigan, Sten or Oghren?) If the PC wasn't there, I think the two of them would share enough time to become very close friends, if not lovers.

Like her first jealousy convo (Before the one where she forces you to break up.) states that she loves Alistar as a friend and doesn't wanna see him hurt. Guess that means that since they got together in DSC, the Warden somehow was able to get Alistair shoved right into the "Friends" zone.
But that doesn't really matter since Leliana is most likely half Orleasian, a Native of Orlais, And also a commoner. The Noble class would tear her apart if she was ever put on the throne. And lets not forget her dark past could be used against her by someone who wanted revenge (Marjolaine), and once people found out a "supposedly" ex Orleasian spy was sitting on the throne. Rumors would quickly spread followed by a mass uprising and a possible hanging of Leliana.

I consider DSC completely meaningless, no, worse than meaningless and it contradicts game charaterization utterly.
Pretty sure that no one suggested that King Alistair could marry Leliana.

Well in that case having a sweet minx like Leliana as a wife and Queen should put and keep the king in high spirits to be in better mood to manage the realm of Ferelden, also in dealing with the chantry, and hopefully even an improvement in regards of personal hygiene, so that was a good point.

Well, Leliana DOES say in one of the jealousy talks that if the warden hadn't gone for Alistair, she (Leliana) would have. Of course, this didn't strike me as the truth, more of a face-saving thing, but if you want to ship them, you can insist that she meant every word.

I play a female warden and I'd never let Lelianna get her hands on my Alistair, king or not. I usually keep Alistair a GW so he can stay with my character. I've only played HNF twice. Right now I'm playing as Dalish elf and to hear Lelianna go on about the elfs, hmmm. Never. She doesn't deserve Alistair.

I believe, it an alternative reality of sorts. If your warden dies during joining Alistair and Leliana are together. Since events went differently, they just stayed as companions.

My DC kept trying to get them together. There was some flirting and a few significant looks, but if they got up to anything more, they were quite discreet about it.
