I was wondering if there are other souls out there that feel that the fade level is ruining the game for them as it is for me?
I have finished the game fully 2 times now and I loved it, but I feel like I would have finished it many more times if not for this level. The constant switching of areas and continuously going back, the fact that you are alone which can be annoying for a more squishy character, trying to defeat the room with the four mages and the pillar on nightmare and others make me not repeating to play this game.
I was just wondering if there are other out there who agree with me, because I have been looking around on these forums for a while but I can't remember of any topics or posts about this.

I approve of this message. Everything about the fade is a snore fest... the music... the enemies... and the irritating blur gives me a headache and makes me think I'm looking at the tv without my glasses on.
You are not alone!

One of the first mods I ever installed was the 'skip the fade' mod. Made my playthrough much more fun. Too bad your on the PS3, you have my genuine sympathies.

My roommate actually quit the game for 5months because of the Fade. I helped him get through it though so now he's back to enjoying Dragon Age.
Personally, I've done it so many times it's become a bit mechanical - I know the order, I know where everything is, I just try to do it as quick as possible so I can get the hell out of the Fade (I really hated the entire Broken Circle quest, partially because of a certain self-righteous busybody that decides following me around and telling me how to do my duty as a Warden when she isnt one..... grr)

I find it boring and depressing. The atmosphere is depressing, and if people go there when they dream...they must have horrible dreams XD

The lighting gives me a headache. Skip the Fade mod all the way.

Game mechanics did sort of slaughter a lot of the Fade's charm really. If they had at least put in some really awesome background music, I'm sure it wouldn't have been so horrid.

The thing is, with other parts of the game, it changes. What companions you bring, which dialogue options are picked, the decisions you can make, even what character class or race you're playing gives some variation.
The Fade is the same damn thing every single time. The fights are easy, the enemies always in the same place, there are no decisions to make, no companions with you, and since you have to use the fade shapeshift forms for so much of it, very little variation in gameplay even between playing different character classes.
Once was interesting. Ten times? Of the exact same thing? With zero changes? And absolutely no way you can impact the plot of the game by doing things differently? Oh no. No no no.
Skip the fade is the perfect mod. You get the stat boosts and codexes, and you get to see the companion dreams, which are the only part that changes. But that slog through all the little fade worlds to collect every form, then returning to use the forms in the proper places, is gone.

I've only played through the Game once, so I haven't seen how it feels to do the Fade a second time...
But I actaully enjoyed it. The Tower was a long Campaign & I did find the break from it well-timed. I avoided Walkthroughs for DA like they were the Flu, so I didn't get everything or everyplace.
What I think I enjoyed may be the Story aspects of it & not particularly the game-play.

Before I found out about the awesomeness of the skip the fade mod, I used to get slightly buzzed when doing the Fade section, not enough to be drunk, but booze helped with the utter boredom.

Unfortunately I read Robert Jordan so I was thinking along the lines of the World of Dreams (not even gonna try spelling it) with regards to the Fade. Dialogue even seemed to support this idea, the landscape of the Fade is a construct of the beings that inhabit it, and an excercise of will can alter it. Honestly my first reaction to the "Raw Fade" was that it was a little boring. Overall I enjoy the section, though it's become a bit reflex after so many playthroughs, but that first impression has never really left me.

A skip the fade mod, how convenient, too bad Im playing on ps3. Ah Im glad to find more like minded people. ^^ Because I didnt hear much of it on the forum I was beginning to think it wasn't really an issue for most people.
Yeah Deathwurm the first time it wasn't so bad, because it's story and the different forms are interesting, but what the person above you said was completely true, play it more often and it's really an obstacle.

Lot's of people dislike it hence the mod came out. I use it simply because after doing it twice i really can't be bothered to do it all over again. Once you have done it once all the fun of solving the maze is gone and it just drags on through dull level designs and relentless fights. If it was more of a puzzle and didn't include so much fighting when you are alone it'd have been way more fun. I hate in RPG's where they feel you need another fight every few steps you take.

The fade rocks. Excellent role-play potential, definite challenge on tactics. Plus the benefits kick ass.

First time with my somewhat flawed mage, it was ok enough. I didn't get all the XP or attribute boosters however. Second time with my canon mage, it was just plain average. Wasn't too boring, neither exciting. Just something that needed to be done as quickly as possible. I appreciate that the lighting and fuzzy textures make it obvious that you are not in the real world, but it gets annoying after a while.

My problem with the fade is that for a dreamworld it's incredibly boring. I'd expect more vibrant colors or something, not the fact I'm in some sort of hazy marshland.

What role-playing potential? In my experience there is little choice for variation, its just the same path you take every time, and the people you meet you can only say a very few things to, which are all very similar.

I tore my hair out at it the first go or two, then got used to it and didn't mind it as much, then found it a drag on subsequent pt's. The mod lets you see the good parts- your followers' Fade dreams- and skips the tedium. *hugs Skip the Fade*
Now if we could only get a "Skip the Wynne" mod...

I actually found wynne not that annoying on my first playthrough when I wanted to learn about grey wardens, but now in these playthroughs, she is by far the most annoying group member imho, as I started to pay more attention to the people's attitudes and why they are telling me what they are telling then the actual contents of the conversation.

For a world of dreams, the Fade is really unimpressive - everyone in Fereldan dreams of floating patches of land, apparently. I have a few problems with the Fade. The first of them is that there isn't any kind of variation to the place other than what order you want to gain the skills and kill the demons. But there's no difference to the area, no choice. Every other area of significance in the game has a choice. Now, granted, the Fade is a sub-section of the Circle, but since all the 'quests' in the area are about and lead to the same thing, it becomes a long drag.
Likewise, you're alone for the entire segment. Even when you manage to rescue your party, you don't see them again until you go to fight the demon. The strength of the game is in the character interaction. This is the longest stretch of playing alone in the game, and it's very. Very. DULL. Interaction with our party is one of the drawing points for me and having a long stretch in the middle of the game where you are not allowed to have a party is unappealing.

I want to know the person who designed mage asunder =_= you got 1 mage doing damage to you and another doing crowd control and debuffs and those dam mages are trigger happy with their fireballs. The fact that you are by yourself makes it worse!

If they'd done the Fade portion of the Circle the way they did Blackmarsh Undying in Awakenings, it would've been far better.
Besides how they did Blackmarsh, the only other thing I liked better in Awakening than Origins was your healer type. I vastly prefer Anders to Wynne.

Yes the fade portion in the blackmarsh was great, hopefully in DA2 the fade portion won't be a bore to go through.
