The sex scene in Mass Effect 3

What's everyone else hoping from the sex scene in ME3?

Posté 05 janvier 2011 - 11:50
What do I hope from it? Preferably no "interactive gameplay elements".... hot coffee in ME would be in bad taste. Perhaps something with a more intimate setting... A space cabin is nice and all, but after you're stopped the invading reapers, I'd like to give tender kisses to my lady on a verdant field of green on a far-off planet. Doesn't that sound alluring...

Though being that most have relationships already developed, and from what I've read a lot of people want that relationship to carry over into ME3, as I do. Whether from ME1, or ME2, I'd like to build more in ME3 on what's already there than have to start from scratch and build up to the "final battle, we may die, let's just do it" part at the end of the game. By now your Shep has chosen, so build on that.

I also don't see the point in making them clothed if they're still going to be dry humping.....

I want it to be really tasteless and dirty. Dialogue-wheel positions.
Sounds like you wanted the asari-hanar porn game after all.

1. for every relationship to have its own scene/script/animations, like in ME2
2. for every dialogue in the scene to be unique (not following 'LI comes to you and talks about X no matter who your LI is' pattern)
3. for every intimate scene to be sexy and sensual; nudity isn't necessary, though, I find Miranda's scene to be very sexy and sensual as it is
Conclusion: best from ME1 + best from ME2
Though, honestly, NO SEX SHOWN OMG didn't bother me in ME2 in the slightest. I romanced Thane; and I was happy with just the kiss. The game kinda hints sex did happen but the scene still doesn't contradict my personal canon where first sex took place after the SM, while two hours before the Omega-4 relay were spent talking.
/I guess my post was a bit too serious for this thread - ah well!

With EA calling the shots and wanting to appeal to as many as possible, they will block most of it out so kids can play this. Even though, the first game made it quite clear it's not a kiddies game.
Why couldn't they have taken over after ME3?

KOTOR had the best romance in any BioWare game and it didn't have a sex scene at all.

I don't mind if they don't have full out nudity in their games, I think it's more important about how it's presented and that it's enjoyable.

Mass Effect : Blood, Language, Partial Nudity, Sexual Themes, Violence
Mass Effect 2 : Blood, Drug Reference, Sexual Content, Strong Language, Violence
"Narcotics flooded my veins when I attacked,"
and "The asari injecting so many drugs into me was terrifying."
During the course of the game, players may enter a bar where alien pole dancing exists (choreography
highlighted on big-screen monitors) or hear suggestive comments such as "krogan sexual deviants enjoy salarian flexibility" and "if this is just about sex, maybe you should just f**king say so." [Italics added]
Players can also choose to have "romantic encounters" with the alien/human henchmen characters; this involves
watching a guided cutscene in which two characters flirt, kiss, and/or embrace: clothed alien/human characters may prop a partner on top of a space console, clear away the clutter from a bed-slab, unzip a future-blouse, or just talk it out. Though an alien/human may gyrate her hips while on top (fleeting—one-to-two seconds), actual sex is never depicted—the camera cuts away to space furniture and ceilings.
Lets remember that Partial Nudity plus Sexual Theme for ME1 = Sexual Content in ME2.

They have the Sims anyway. They were making human/alien sex long before Mass Effect was around. I'm pretty sure it's not the sex in games they're worried about.

Ahh yes... *airquotes* rEApers *close airquotes* we've dismissed those claims... seeing as the CEO of bioware is also a Senior VP of EA.
If they truly made it for kids to play, then how come it's still an 18 game? Congratulations on proving your lack of intelligence.
On-Topic: I agree with Big Stupid Jellyfish (maybe they aren't so stupid after all
I also hope there is a difference between an on-going LI scene and a scene with Shep beginning a romance with an LI (whether new squaddie or previous).

18? In the UK, ME1 is a 12, and ME2 is a 15. Though I suppose that only goes further to proving your point that they certainly didn't tone down the sex scenes for 'the kiddies'.
OT: Personally, I preferred the sex scenes in ME1, though I see how that wouldn't work with the alien LIs. I didn't actually mind the alien scenes in ME2, but the human ones were just cringeworthy. (I haven't actually played or seen Tali's or Jack's, so I can't comment on those.)

But I do prefer the ME1 romance scenes to the ME2 ones.
The ME1 romance scene made it look meaningful.
In ME2, only a few looked somewhat meaningful. Others just looked like thoughtless foreplay.

Yup hehe, I'd stupidly gone with the rating the PS3 demo has which even in the UK is PEGI 18 for some reason. Just checked online and full game on PS3 is 15, so that seems odd that demo got listed as 18? Oh well, as you say, it just further proves my point with the age rating going up from ME to ME2.Slavka13748 wrote...
